BTW 38: 8 of Swords – Find Your Luck Dragon, with guest Liza Fenster
The 8 of Swords appears when we WANT to do something, but sh*t keeps getting in our way. In this card we can see that the person in the image has forgotten her power, it’s almost like she believes so strongly that she is a prisoner that she no longer even tries to escape. When this card comes up, the rut you’re in usually has more to do with old habits and patterns than it does with current external circumstances - though it might not be an easy fix, there IS a way to free yourself. In this episode we talk about: epigenetics, the Neverending Story, shit jobs, mailbox magic, how to use the 8 of Swords to kick your iPhone addiction, and so much more.
Our guest today is Liza Fenster, of Crow Mother Tarot. She’s a tarot practitioner, intuitive, and an energetic healer and neuromuscular massage therapist with 20 years of extensive spiritual and metaphysical practice and study. We love her Instagram page and her attitude and we can’t wait to introduce you. Stay tuned to find out how to free yourself from that 8 of Swords bondage, and call in the Luck Dragon who will take you to your Southern Oracle. Join us!
BTW 37: The Devil You DON'T Know with guest Michael Ursell
Rebel, demon, adversary, bringer of light, the Devil appears in all these guises and more. The Devil card often points to our fatal flaw, the wound that is standing in our way, preventing us from getting the thing we really want. One especially delicious tool we can use to help deepen our knowledge of the Devil card is literature. Today we’re discussing the meaning of our favorite foe with Milton scholar Michael Ursell. We discuss the infamous book, "Paradise Lost," and what it teaches us about love and resistance. In the episode you’ll find out why the Devil figure really is scary, but not for the reasons you might think. Tune in!
BTW 36: 7 of Swords – Fight the Power, with guest Jerico Mandybur
When I think of the 7 of Swords the first thing that comes to mind is that you’re getting away with something. Now, that could be a good thing or bad thing, depending on the circumstances. Often this card indicates solving a problem without direct confrontation. As much as we might WANT there to be a black and white solution to our problems, a right choice and a wrong choice, the Seven of Swords often appears when we having to navigate ambiguity, times when there is no clear answer. If this sounds like your life, you're going to want to tune in.
Our guest today is Jerico Mandybur, author of "Neo Tarot: A fresh approach to self care, healing, and empowerment", and "Daily Oracle: Seek answers from your higher self". She’s also the host of the podcast, Beyond Belief, and was previously the host of the chart-topping Self Service and a weekly guest on Girlboss Radio. As a tarot reader and spiritual coach, Jerico has held court at events hosted by Urban Decay, HBO’s Game of Thrones, BeautyCon, Depop, Soho House, the Chateau Marmont, Neuehouse, The Fullest Magazine, and more. Jerico is deep, and our conversation was juicy, can wait for you to meet her!
35: 6 of Swords – Moving On and Letting Go, with Grace Duong
When I think of the 6 of Swords the first thing I think of is that you’re leaving something behind, it might be a relationship, a job, a house, or an old pattern, habit or belief system. In this card, the Tarot is cautioning you not to bring your old problems with you into new territories. It's not always easy to leave behind what you know, even when what you know isn't right for you anymore. But the 6 of Swords card has wisdom for us to make the process a little easier, and maybe even... exciting?
Our guest today is Grace Duong, multidisciplinary artist, author, and creator of Mystic Mondays - Tarot for the Modern Mystic: an intuitive tool for spiritual guidance. It's a colorful deck, full of positive vibes that allow you to access answers for your highest good. Grace brought such a warm hearted and revelatory spirit to the discussion of this card. We can't wait for you to meet her! [See show notes for her beautiful salt scrub recipe!]

BTW 33: 5 of Swords – Breaking the Curse, with Marcella Kroll
When I think of the 5 of Swords, I think about conflict. Someone is hurt, another someone is feeling bitter and resentful, someone else is on a vindictive rampage. But of course, since tarot is a wisdom tradition, it’s not just going to leave us there in harm’s way like that. It’s got medicine for us, it’s got some strategies, tune in to find out what the 5 of Swords teaches us about transforming hurt into healing.
