WE have you covered… for a brief period of time before talking about the REAL big game… Monopoly (0:08:30). Did you ever want to hear a breakdown of the Harry Potter chess scene in explicit detail? We have that too!! (0:26:05). Jarrett coaxes Ethan into the hardest Pokemon ROM challenge ever created (0:37:57). Ethan and Jim hit the video game corner (0:50:14) before James departs and we talk Drake Maye’s MVP runner up, the stupid NFL Awards, and Bill Belichick’s hall of fame snub (1:05:40). Post playing career Tom Brady stinks (1:17:56). Two fools foolishly fool themselves into believing in the nobody believes in us Patriots one last time (1:24:02) before we wrap up the episode with some good old fashioned blabbing about Jarrett’s burgeoning chess career (1:31:14).

    In honor of the 4th episode of our revived podcast, we preview the 4th week of the NFL playoffs, otherwise known as the Superb Owl (0:03:04). Jim Irsay (RIP) and Ethan both notoriously took too long in people’s bathrooms that one time, but for varying reasons (0:29:46). We embark on a spirited Harry Potter movie debate (0:41:20) before Jim departs and leaves us to talk Fincher movies and the veracity of Letterbox vs. Yelp reviews (1:02:15). Older white guys are obsessed with travels in basketball (1:08:42) and maybe the Patriots shouldn’t have drafted a Left Tackle with short arms 4th overall (1:12:26). Restricted content: only listen to the last ten minutes if you are a Shark from Shark Tank interested in working with us on our genius inventions (1:17:34).

    The Bite Thy Thumb boys are once again made whole as Jim returns to the pod to ask if the Super Bowl will be the Patriots’ hardest game yet and to listen to a 30 minute easy schedule rant (0:01:49). We talk Pokémans and general video gamery (0:42:05) before James departs and the DYQS boys continue with Celtics talk and trading Jayson Tatum (1:15:42). We wrap up by teaching America how to play blackjack, reveling in the modern technology of card collecting, and fine dining (1:32:28).

    As a personal affront to God, we decided NOT to quit after one episode and return with thoughtful questions, such as… Is the 3rd Big Bang Theory spinoff as good as the Sopranos? Do laugh tracks stink? Is watching Facebook reels the same as watching 86 hours of a television show? (0:00:33). We do a little movie talkin’, including but not limited to Stephen King adaptations, Pulp Fiction, 12 Angry Men, and whether either of us know what character actor vs. lead actor means (0:13:56). Does George Kittle’s medically-prescribed tequila make more sense than some of the recent NFL Head Coach firings? (0:32:13). A Pats/Texans preview which simultaneously comes 4-5 days late and also massively underestimates how turbo-dogshit C.J. Stroud is (0:45:39). We are big fans of full-sentence palindromes and doing Hannibal Lecter impressions (0:59:48). We wrap up this installment by reading Old English and exactly (2) poems for some reason (1:05:19), periling over the engineering certification exams we have to take soon-ish (1:15:40), reading the greatest athlete tweets of the early/mid 2010’s (1:23:14), and obligatory Pokemon: Legends ZA DLC talk (1:30:00).

Q: Do you quarrel, sir? Fun fact: 66.67% of the Bite Thy Thumb podcast has returned to the airwaves under new ownership after 3 and a half long years. The best we could muster up after a 1,000 day vacation is talking about sports video games and jumpy hoops (0:00:36). We discuss some potential new nicknames for Ethan, electricity biscuits, & sports Nepo-babies (0:22:38). Basketball is extremely hard & Trae Young got traded for not being good enough at it (0:44:29). Trading in the NBA is borderline impossible/incredibly complicated but also the Celtics should acquire (1) Giannis Antetokounmpo (0:58:20). The DYQS Complaint Corner includes the existence of coffee-chain protein lattes, white guys being able to speak different languages, & people recording themselves doing things (1:14:30). We conclude our triumphant return by speculating (correctly) on the outcome of the Patriots/Chargers Wild Card matchup and debating Drake Maye’s MVP candidacy (1:30:11).

    Worlds collide on Season 3 Episode 4 as Jarrett’s beloved dynasty league discovers his bastard child of a podcast (0:02:57). Ethan skips the 2nd annual pod-Golf invitational to selfishly savor his covid infection (0:21:03). We wrap up this shortie but goodie episode by recapping the start of the Celtics / Heat Eastern Conference Finals (0:31:59) as well as participating in some poignantly below-average impersonations of sports announcers (0:44:25).

    We celebrate spring and return of beautiful weather by discussing horror movies and dying in various aircrafts (0:00:29). We come clean regarding the failed podcast last week and steps forward [which sadly do not include replacing James] (0:18:16). We champion the brave men who don’t let dogs biting their face off get in the way of an adequate amount of beers after work (0:23:03). A full recap of the JamesJarrett Golf Classic Invitational results, including most accurate score predictions and fortuitous alliances with the elderly (0:28:37). Jarrett experiences his first Golf-League meltdown at the hands of golf elitists (0:46:26) followed by a quick beginning and even quicker ending to his Leominster softball league career (0:56:52). We wrap up with James’s Quest for Glory (1:08:19), surprisingly reasonable reactions to Celtics v Bucks being erased by Twitter gaslighting (1:14:37), and the results of the Bite Thy Thumb Dynasty League rookie draft (1:21:39).

The tournament is thrown in jeopardy when one of the star golfers is summoned by the authorities down in Rhode Island (0:28:52). We wrap up the show by bringing you the latest chatter regarding the 3 biggest stories in New England: the Patriots’ STRANGE draft (0:32:36), the Celtics’ playoff run (1:01:41), and most importantly, James’ Quest for Glory (0:54:54).
