Two fools foolishly fool themselves into believing in the nobody believes in us Patriots one last time (1:24:02) before we wrap up the episode with some good old fashioned blabbing about Jarrett’s burgeoning chess career (1:31:14).

    In honor of the 4th episode of our revived podcast, we preview the 4th week of the NFL playoffs, otherwise known as the Superb Owl (0:03:04). Jim Irsay (RIP) and Ethan both notoriously took too long in people’s bathrooms that one time, but for varying reasons (0:29:46). We embark on a spirited Harry Potter movie debate (0:41:20) before Jim departs and leaves us to talk Fincher movies and the veracity of Letterbox vs. Yelp reviews (1:02:15). Older white guys are obsessed with travels in basketball (1:08:42) and maybe the Patriots shouldn’t have drafted a Left Tackle with short arms 4th overall (1:12:26). Restricted content: only listen to the last ten minutes if you are a Shark from Shark Tank interested in working with us on our genius inventions (1:17:34).

    As a personal affront to God, we decided NOT to quit after one episode and return with thoughtful questions, such as… Is the 3rd Big Bang Theory spinoff as good as the Sopranos? Do laugh tracks stink? Is watching Facebook reels the same as watching 86 hours of a television show? (0:00:33). We do a little movie talkin’, including but not limited to Stephen King adaptations, Pulp Fiction, 12 Angry Men, and whether either of us know what character actor vs. lead actor means (0:13:56). Does George Kittle’s medically-prescribed tequila make more sense than some of the recent NFL Head Coach firings? (0:32:13). A Pats/Texans preview which simultaneously comes 4-5 days late and also massively underestimates how turbo-dogshit C.J. Stroud is (0:45:39). We are big fans of full-sentence palindromes and doing Hannibal Lecter impressions (0:59:48). We wrap up this installment by reading Old English and exactly (2) poems for some reason (1:05:19), periling over the engineering certification exams we have to take soon-ish (1:15:40), reading the greatest athlete tweets of the early/mid 2010’s (1:23:14), and obligatory Pokemon: Legends ZA DLC talk (1:30:00).

Q: Do you quarrel, sir? Fun fact: 66.67% of the Bite Thy Thumb podcast has returned to the airwaves under new ownership after 3 and a half long years. The best we could muster up after a 1,000 day vacation is talking about sports video games and jumpy hoops (0:00:36). We discuss some potential new nicknames for Ethan, electricity biscuits, & sports Nepo-babies (0:22:38). Basketball is extremely hard & Trae Young got traded for not being good enough at it (0:44:29). Trading in the NBA is borderline impossible/incredibly complicated but also the Celtics should acquire (1) Giannis Antetokounmpo (0:58:20). The DYQS Complaint Corner includes the existence of coffee-chain protein lattes, white guys being able to speak different languages, & people recording themselves doing things (1:14:30). We conclude our triumphant return by speculating (correctly) on the outcome of the Patriots/Chargers Wild Card matchup and debating Drake Maye’s MVP candidacy (1:30:11).

We champion the brave men who don’t let dogs biting their face off get in the way of an adequate amount of beers after work (0:23:03).
