Solid Podcast

I like this podcast a lot, and no it’s not for the content. While I do like history podcasts, this one I like because it can keep me interested and entertained for long stretches of time, where zoning out isn’t too much of a big deal. Many deeply informational podcasts are boring and you have to pay attention, which is hard to do for hours at a time. Overall great podcast, but if if you want to learn history, maybe try others.

Where is the history?

A couple of knuckleheads sharing their musings that are completely unfounded with no factual support. Tuned in to hear a summary of the history, instead spent the first 10 minutes listening to them offer solutions without a deeper understanding of the conflict. Their nonchalant tone is offensive to anyone who has a vested interest in the country.

Lacking Political Balance

I’ve been listening to the show for over a year now. I’ve enjoy the discussions on historical events and civilizations. However when it comes to topics on recent geopolitical events I’m a little disappointed, especially the episodes regarding the war in Ukraine. It’s important to hear all sides of an argument or dispute, but when you get recurrent guest appearances from folks who have questionable and political driven credentials (i.e.Infowars and Big League Politics writers/reporters) the narrative of these geopolitical events becomes distorted and biased. The early stuff these guys did was good but lately the political attitudes/leanings of the main host Henry Szamota has been bleeding into the show too much for my tastes. If these guys could deliver more nuanced discussions of geopolitical events and bring on guests from the other side of the political spectrum once in awhile its got the makings to be a good podcast.
