How to Enjoy the Journey and Trust God With Your Next Step

Sometimes a change of scenery gives you the perspective you didn't realize you needed. While traveling through New Mexico and Colorado in their bus, Chad and Megan found themselves reflecting on a simple phrase shared by a retired Air Force veteran they met along the way: enjoy the journey. That conversation became the starting point for a much bigger discussion about living in the present, trusting God with the future, enjoying your marriage, and being intentional with the season of life you're currently in. Chad and Megan talk openly about what it looks like to slow down when you're naturally wired to keep moving, how expectations can affect our ability to enjoy the moment, and why learning to adjust is such an important part of marriage and family life. They also reflect on their early years of marriage, when life looked very different and they had far fewer comforts and conveniences. Looking back, they realized some of their sweetest memories came from simply enjoying each other, laughing through imperfect circumstances, and being fully present for the life they were building together. The conversation eventually comes back to faith and the reminder from Psalm 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." How often do we spend today's energy thinking about yesterday or planning for tomorrow? Chad and Megan challenge listeners to consider what it would look like to be where your feet are, seek God in the middle of your current season, and create enough margin to actually experience the life you're working so hard to build. Whether you're navigating a busy marriage, raising children, building a business, chasing big goals, or simply trying to figure out what your next season looks like, this episode is an invitation to slow down and notice what God is doing right now. Because your legacy is being built in these moments too. In this episode, you'll hear about: How to enjoy the journey when life doesn't go according to plan Why being present matters in marriage, family, and faith How expectations can keep us from enjoying the moment Learning to trust God with the process instead of rushing toward the destination Why slowing down can create space to hear from God How couples with different personalities and rhythms can learn to adjust together Reflecting on the early years of marriage and finding joy in simple seasons Why today's ordinary moments may become tomorrow's most meaningful memories How to live with greater intention instead of letting life set the pace for you Connect With Us If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a reminder to slow down and enjoy the season they're in. If you've ever felt pressure to plan the perfect summer, keep your kids entertained every day, or constantly compare your family to what you see online, you're not alone. How to Live the Abundant Life Jesus Promised

Have you ever reached the end of the day feeling exhausted, even though you spent it doing good things? Many of us fill our calendars, carry heavy responsibilities, and keep moving from one commitment to the next. Somewhere along the way, it's easy to wonder if this is really the life Jesus was talking about when He promised life to the full in John 10:10. In this solo episode, Chad shares what God placed on his heart during a morning Bible study on abundant life. You'll also hear practical encouragement for anyone who wants to grow spiritually but feels stretched thin by work, family, responsibilities, or the pace of everyday life. Rather than adding another item to your to-do list, Chad shares habits that help create space for God's voice and remind us that spiritual growth happens through faithful, consistent steps. How to Step Out in Faith When You're Afraid

How many opportunities have we missed because staying comfortable felt safer than trusting God? In this episode of Legacy Life with the Lacefields, Chad and Megan unpack one of the biggest obstacles to living the life God has called you to live: playing it safe. Comfort can feel secure, but it often keeps us from experiencing the purpose, growth, and freedom waiting on the other side of obedience. Through personal stories, biblical encouragement, and practical wisdom, Chad and Megan share why every meaningful step of faith comes with uncertainty, and why waiting until you feel completely confident may keep you from ever moving forward. From launching businesses and making difficult family decisions to trusting God with finances, leadership, and life's unexpected transitions, this conversation is an invitation to stop allowing fear to determine your future. Because throughout Scripture, God rarely revealed the entire plan. He simply asked people to trust Him with the next step. If you've been wrestling with a decision, waiting for perfect timing, or wondering if you're ready, this episode is the encouragement you need to stop waiting and start walking in faith. In This Episode, You'll Learn How to step out in faith when you're afraid Why comfort can quietly keep you from God's calling How to know when fear is making your decisions Why God usually reveals the next step, not the entire plan Practical ways to trust God during uncertainty How faith grows through obedience Why courage often comes after you begin moving How your obedience can inspire your family and future generations Connect With Us If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who is facing a big decision or needs the courage to take their next step of faith. Million Dollar Marriage: How to Build Big Dreams Together

Most couples say they want a stronger marriage, better finances, healthier communication, more freedom, and a more intentional life. But very few couples actually stop to ask: 👉 What are we building together? 👉 What habits are helping us get there? 👉 And what habits are quietly keeping us stuck? In this episode of Legacy Life with the Lacefields, Chad and Megan have a practical and deeply honest conversation about how to build a strong marriage with shared goals, intentional habits, discipline, and a unified vision for your future. Inspired by the quote: “You can’t have million-dollar dreams with minimum-wage habits.” This episode explores the connection between: • marriage and mindset • dreams and discipline • vision and sacrifice • and how everyday habits shape your future together Because strong marriages don’t happen accidentally. And neither do strong families, healthy finances, meaningful goals, or lasting legacy. Chad and Megan also unpack how easy it is for couples to live reactively instead of intentionally, constantly surviving day to day without ever slowing down long enough to dream together, communicate clearly, or create a plan for the life they actually want. This conversation covers everything from: • financial habits • grocery spending • emotional discipline • clutter and overwhelm • sacrifice and intentionality • shared goals in marriage • and learning how to stop settling for “survival mode” relationships Because your habits are always building something. The question is: 👉 Are they building the future you actually want? Thanks for tuning in to Legacy Life with The Lacefields! Run Your Race: Choosing Faith Over Fear

Fear has a way of showing up right when you feel like you’re finally making progress. In this episode of Legacy Life with the Lacefields, Chad and Megan talk honestly about what it means to choose faith over fear, trust God in uncertain seasons, and keep running your race even when life doesn’t go according to plan. After months of training for a half marathon in Alaska, Chad suddenly found himself facing unexpected health struggles, severe headaches, uncertainty, and an MRI that brought back fear and anxiety from past experiences. And in the middle of all of it, God reminded him of something simple but powerful: 👉 Breathe in Jesus. 👉 Breathe out, “I trust You, Lord.” This episode dives into the reality that fear is something every person faces, whether it’s connected to health, marriage, parenting, finances, leadership, business, or the unknowns of life. But fear was never meant to lead us. Faith was. Together, Chad and Megan unpack: • why fear tries to freeze us • how faith is built through consistent training • why preparation matters spiritually and emotionally • how God strengthens us before the hard moments arrive • and what it looks like to trust the Guide even when you can’t fully see the path ahead Because life is not about running someone else’s race. It’s about faithfully running your own. Thanks for tuning in to Legacy Life with The Lacefields!
