BeaglePigGirl ,

My favorite ED podcast.

I have struggled with my eating disorder since first hospitalized in 1987.
Now over 3 decades later and multiple treatment centers I’m worn out.
Finding Kate’s podcast suddenly gave me hope and a renewed sense of determination.
Her interviews and educational episodes have truly helped incite me to keep trying despite being more hopeless than ever.
I purchased her book and workbook and I work through them with my therapist.
I also followed her online course and in time when I am more stable in other areas of my life … I hope to get back in touch with her for online coaching .
She is an amazing lady in the work that she does to help so many. I have listened to every episode of her podcast at least once.
( I even sent an email and she replied! As encouraging and supportive as she always is).
I’m so grateful I found this podcast and everything Kate has to offer !

Taking the shame out of a disorder

Kate is so encouraging and honest as she discusses all types of eating disorders. Her guests are from all parts of the world and have different perspectives on what can be a crippling condition. If you are lloking for great, balanced information on eating disorders, this is your podcast. You should also check out her books including coloring books.

Awful start...

I am just under halfway through the first episode of season 1 and I am horrified by the misinformation/stereotypes the male interviewer is spouting out about bulimia. Not only that but he is forcing Kate (I believe that’s her name) to give percentages on recovery outcomes, reasons why bulimia develops, etc and that is not possible. Every human is different and every bulimic experience is unique.
I am hoping this podcast gets better but I highly recommend NOT listening to it if you are just beginning your recovery journey. This pigeon holes the bulimic experience and can easily make an individual with bulimia feel awful. If you are listening as an individual trying to educate yourself about bulimia, this is also not the podcast for you. Hopefully it gets better...
