In this episode, listen to Sarah's candid journey about her relationship with food and feelings of resentment. Fending Off Snacking And Raising A Healthy Daughter with Rachel

To unlock this and ALL the subscribers-only episodes with real clients and conversations, join us at georgiefear.com/podcast. In today's episode we are catching up with Rachel. Rachel is a client of mine who wants to lose weight, but she needs to get her emotional eating and binge eating out of the way first. In the week prior to the call that you'll hear today, she has been practicing strategies to not snack between meals. As you'll hear today, it's not just a matter of willpower. It's really important to tailor the size of her meals so she isn't hungry for long stretches and just trying to soldier through without food between meals. We also had a good chat about how to navigate conversations about food and body image with her daughter. Rachel doesn't want her daughter to grow up feeling like Rachel did. She always felt like there was too much of her, like she was too big, and it led to decades of trying to shed weight. At the same time, Rachel doesn't want to be completely silent about nutrition because then her daughter might just eat candy or chips all day. Join us to explore practical tips for achieving food freedom and fostering a healthy relationship with food and body image for yourself and the next generation. Episode Timeline: 00:00 Introduction to Rachel's Journey 01:20 Podcast Introduction and Initial Progress 01:53 Addressing Evening Overeating 02:49 Homemade Treats and Exercise Routine 04:46 Mindful Eating and Portion Control 07:57 Navigating Emotional Eating 17:07 Concerns About Daughter's Weight 19:39 Navigating Body Image and Self-Acceptance 20:40 Encouraging Healthy Habits in Children 22:47 Balancing Freedom and Nutrition 24:38 Managing Emotional Eating 28:37 Negotiating Screen Time and Digital Boundaries 30:21 Building Trust and Self-Control with Food 40:47 Concluding Thoughts and Encouragement Have you ever thought, "I know what to do, I just need to consistently do it"? Let's Drop The Rock: Heather's Assessment

To unlock this and ALL the subscribers-only episodes with real clients and conversations, join us at georgiefear.com/podcast. Today you will meet Heather. Heather came because she was interested in giving my philosophy and methods a try after listening to the podcast and hearing my approach. Heather had been dieting much of her life, and had been to Overeaters Anonymous, but it hadn't been a solution for her lifelong binge eating and weight struggles. This session is our first official call, where we go through an assessment  and map out a plan for exactly how we'd reach her goals.  We go through what her eating pattern looks like, the thoughts behind her current methods of controlling her weight, what her binges look like, and a clear story emerges. It's a story of polarities, familiar to many of my listeners where fat is bad and thin is good. Food is either bad or good, and she faces the decision every time she eats to be bad or to be good. This episode covers the initial steps in her journey, including establishing a regular eating pattern, recognizing hunger cues, and exploring the emotional aspects behind her eating habits. If you're interested in breaking the cycle of binge eating and establishing a healthier relationship with food, this episode is for you. Note to listeners: there are some specific numbers in this podcast referring to body weight, including her current weight and the weight range where she would like to end up, but it's absolutely not the focus of the call, which is me learning about her as an eater and a person. Episode Timeline: 00:00 Introduction to Heather's Journey 00:52 Understanding Heather's Eating Patterns 01:56 ChatGPT's Take on Binge Eating Recovery 04:43 Discussing Overeaters Anonymous and 12-Step Programs 06:05 Heather's Weight Loss Goals and Challenges 10:57 Heather's Relationship with Food 19:36 Family Influence and Emotional Connections 22:23 Scarcity Mindset and Food Insecurity 26:57 Intermittent Fasting and Eating Schedules 29:35 Scheduled Binge Days 30:34 Addressing Binge Eating Patterns 32:02 Impact of Medication on Weight Loss 34:40 Struggles with Loneliness and Self-Acceptance 35:46 Challenging Societal Expectations 38:35 Developing a Balanced Relationship with Food 41:28 Creating a Personalized Roadmap 47:25 Self-Assessment and Identifying Traits 52:16 Implementing Hunger-Led Eating 57:06 Planning for Future Sessions Have you ever thought, "I know what to do, I just need to consistently do it"? Rest Is Hard. Here's How To Do It Anyway. (Featuring Allison)

Our philosophy on treatment includes supporting people in many areas of life in addition to meeting their nutrition needs. Eating disorder recovery certainly involves modifying your eating, but if someone only works on the food piece of their life, they often can't completely escape from the symptoms. They may relapse into binge eating again, or they might replace it with a different coping behavior. That's why this podcast covers such a broad spectrum of topics, aside from food. You may remember my client, Allison, from an episode in September, 2025, where we talked about how including joyful activities just for her was a critical missing piece of her recovery from binge eating disorder. Today you'll hear another recording of one of my sessions with Allison this time hitting on some new themes. Join us as we explore the crucial habit of managing your energy levels throughout the day. If you often find yourself drained and only capable of brain-dead scrolling, it's likely because you've run your battery all the way down. We discuss the importance of inserting rest periods before reaching total exhaustion and how small adjustments, like a regular walk, can recharge your battery. We can all be learning, strengthening ourselves, and winning together. If you feel like taking a rest or doing something just for fun, seems uncomfortable, unacceptable, or even impossible, this episode is for you. Episode Timeline: 01:35 Challenges of Taking Breaks 03:42 Struggles with Work-Life Balance 06:10 Strategies for Overcoming Habits 08:16 Setting Personal Policies 12:44 Reflecting on Choices 12:58 Opportunities for Rest 13:23 The Pressure to be Productive 17:21 Responding to Sabotaging Thoughts21:13 Concluding Thoughts and Next Steps Connect with Georgie and the Confident Eaters Coaches:  WebsiteFacebookInstagramHave you ever thought, "I know what to do, I just need to consistently do it"? The Lie Behind "I Don't Deserve To Have Good Things"

Have you ever had the thought 'I don't deserve good things'? This pervasive belief can be subtle, but it's not harmless. Today we are going to explore what's really going on with this belief. When we peel back the layers, we can see that the belief of "deservingness" is rooted in conditional worth messaging, internalized shame, and fear- which can all impact our food choices and self-care. It's time to challenge these beliefs and embrace the idea that you are inherently worthy of good things, without needing to earn them.  You will learn more about how these patterns manifest in everyday life and receive guidance on transforming these thoughts to promote healing and self-compassion. We can't wait for you to listen!
