The Beauty of Storytelling Through Candle Creation and Screenwriting with Niya Smith

In  this episode, Helena Morgane chats with Niya Smith (creator of By Niya)  about about her journey as a creative using candle creation and  screenwriting as her main channels for storytelling and honoring her  values and spiritual beliefs. Niya Smith is a multi-hyphenate creative focusing primarily on screenwriting  and candle creation. based in Los Angeles she is also 1/4 of the  executive assistant team at Heroes and Villains Entertainment. In 2020, soon after relocating to LA, Niya joined Hillman Grad Productions as  Lena Waithe’s personal assistant and wrote her first pilot titled bloom. That same year, she relaunched her candle collection By Niya, a luxury  soy wax candle brand specializing in a fragrant scent journey. After a three-week journey across southeast Asia, Niya wanted to re-create the  feeling of each location to share with others. With intentional scent  tests, the signature collection was birthed and the brand continues to  grow. In 2021, Niya stepped into the role of assistant director for  Master of None (Netflix).
