Strange and engaging audiodrama

Cryptids is a very fun and weird audio drama with fascinating twists and turns.

Excellent production value, interesting concept,

okay characters (the male ones are better and make more sense,) execution could be better. Not bad but not groundbreaking. I’m curious to see where it goes.

Meh

I would not recommend this. It wasn’t awful, but also nothing to write home about.

My biggest issue is that they spend the first 6 episodes not really explaining anything. There were plenty of times where I had no clue what was going on or why characters were doing what they were doing. Then the final episode is pretty much just an exposition dump. It provides an answer for every mystery thus far, and I don’t think a good horror or mystery podcast should do that, and certainly not all in the final episode.

Also, the title is not representative of the podcast. There are really only two entities that could be called cryptids, and even then cryptid is not what I’d personally use to describe them. Based on the title, I was expecting the story to actually involve multiple known cryptids, but other than a few name drops it does not.
