Cults to Consciousness

Survivor stories of claiming independence after leaving high-control groups & people. Cults to Consciousness is a YouTube channel and podcast, hosted by Shelise Ann Sola—a former devout Mormon / CSA survivor—and her Producer husband Jonathan. They delve into the nuanced experiences of individuals who have escaped a broad spectrum of high-control groups and coercive environments. Their mission is not anti-religious but firmly anti-abuse, aiming to shed light on manipulative practices and systems, while promoting compassion, understanding, and accountability. Shelise is an excellent interviewer. Very in- tune with her guests. she approaches every guest’s experiences with utter grace and empathy. She uses her own life lessons to relate to them on a deeper level than most other pods. Her & the hubby are the dynamic duo!🩵
Great podcast for people with religious trauma

While triggering topics are discussed, this podcast goes about dealing with them in a respectful manner and let's the guests tell it at their own pace and what they are comfortable sharing. I myself have religious trauma and this podcast has helped me feel less alone in my deconstruction as well as giving me hope in humanity that not all people are bad and some of us do make it out of the darkness
