From Satellites to Startups: How Space is Shaping the Future of Business with Brenden Swanik

The final frontier is open for business — and host Cyndee Woolley is exploring it with Brenden Swanik, leader in the space industry and creator and host of the Chasing Space podcast. Brenden has been part of dozens of satellite missions, supporting launches alongside NASA, the Canadian Space Agency, and commercial providers, while building a platform dedicated to making space more accessible and understandable for everyday audiences. Through his work, he bridges the gap between complex technical operations and the growing public interest in how space impacts communications, business innovation, national security, and our daily lives. Brenden breaks down the shift from one-off satellite builds to large-scale manufacturing and highlights the growing demand for on-orbit computing and solar-powered data centers in space. The conversation covers dual-use technology, where commercial applications and national security intersect, and how the ISS exemplifies international diplomacy. Brenden also touches on the Artemis mission, orbital debris, and reusable launch vehicles. For entrepreneurs entering the space industry, Brenden's advice: identify your skills, build your LinkedIn network, attend industry events, and look one layer below — supporting organizations are just as vital as the agencies themselves. The Chasing Space podcast reaches listeners across 75 countries and six continents. Leadership, Wellness, and the Power of the Pause with Christopher Littrell

Retired law enforcement officer, Air Force veteran, and founder of Gravity Consulting and Training, Christopher Littrell joins host Cyndee Woolley to talk about the one skill most leaders overlook: knowing when to pause. Drawing on his experience as a SWAT operator and detective sergeant, Christopher shares how high-stakes situations taught him the importance of pausing before reacting. He explains the brain science behind decision-making — the prefrontal cortex versus the limbic system — and shares two guiding principles: "If you name it, you can tame it" and "Are you reacting or responding?" He also uses the question "Are you qualified?" to help leaders assess whether they are in the right headspace before making a critical decision or having a difficult conversation. The conversation covers his six-step decision-making model, workplace wellness, and why healthy brains lead to better decisions and stronger interpersonal relationships. Christopher shares openly about his own experience coming out of a PTSD recovery center in 2023 and how signing up for races helped him stay accountable to his fitness and recovery. His advice for leaders in 2026: approach it with a spirit of humility, stay open to feedback, and keep listening. From Courtroom to Control Room: Building a Global Podcast Business from Scotland

In this episode of Cutting Through the Clutter, host Cyndee Woolley sits down with Justin Grant, an attorney-turned-podcast producer who traded Phoenix for Edinburgh's historic streets to build Professional Productions in 2022. Grant's path to podcasting was unconventional. After graduating law school during Arizona's worst legal economy, he started a solo practice but found himself "just generally dissatisfied." A 2015 vacation to Edinburgh sparked a life-changing decision. Walking among 18th and 19th century buildings, he was struck by the contrast to Phoenix's tendency to demolish "everything that isn't commercially useful." Audiobook recording became his gateway to audio editing, developing skills that proved invaluable when COVID hit. That eventually led into podcast production with another company, and in 2022 he started his own freelance operation. Now specializing in accounting podcasts, Grant has witnessed remarkable outcomes. One client's show evolved to focus on mental health after the host suffered a stroke. The result? An annual conference and recognition on Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People list for two consecutive years. Grant's core philosophy challenges conventional podcast marketing: avoid constant self-promotion. "Don't fall into the trap of hey look at my company we're so great we offer all these great services," he advises. Instead, build community by showcasing guests. One client mentioned his own business only "half a dozen times" across 78 episodes. Grant emphasizes balancing professional-grade audio quality with authentic marketing content, repurposing podcast content across platforms, and tracking leads. Links and Resources: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/justin-grant-az-sco/ Website: https://www.ProfessionalProductions.net About the Guest Justin Grant brings a unique perspective—as an attorney, an entrepreneur, and a podcast producer who understands marketing and storytelling. Since launching Professional Productions in 2022, he's helped clients create content that's both timely and evergreen, sharing client stories and podcast accomplishments while saving them valuable time. Operating from Scotland and serving clients globally, Justin specializes in making podcast production worthwhile from both marketing and efficiency standpoints.  To learn more, visit:http://www.c2-com.com Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:http://missionmatters.com/author/Cyndee-Woolley/

The Three Pillars of Business Risk: Product, Founder, and Cybersecurity

In this episode of Cutting Through the Clutter, host Cyndee Woolley explores three critical risk areas with Heather Miller, founder of PDRM Consulting, who helps businesses navigate vulnerabilities through product risk, founder risk, and cybersecurity. Through conversations with her husband, they recognized that businesses often don't know what they don't know. Miller's insight? Every business has a product—whether a podcast, coaching service, or physical product—and can use product management principles to launch further. The founder risk pillar emerged from personal experience. Miller realized she had built teams and organizations at the expense of her own sanity and well-being. "A business is not going to succeed if the founder has burnout." Miller created PDRM Consulting to maintain quality of life while her youngest child finished high school. She emphasizes that boundaries change throughout the year. As a band mom, she works more in summer during band camp but reduces workload in September and October. Her approach focuses on strategic planning with guide rails, creating frameworks that help teams make decisions without constantly asking questions. Miller differentiates herself from traditional coaches by working fractionally with clients to solve problems directly. The cybersecurity pillar is handled by her husband, with their daughter developing PDRM Protect, a vulnerability management tool for small businesses launching Q1 2026. Heather takes a comprehensive approach to what she calls the three pillars: product risk, founder risk, and cybersecurity. Her expertise centers particularly on product and founder risk—two areas where businesses frequently operate with dangerous blind spots. Through PDRM Consulting, she's developed frameworks that help leaders move from reactive crisis management to proactive risk mitigation, building resilient systems that protect what they've spent years creating without sacrificing growth momentum.  To learn more, visit:http://www.c2-com.com Listen to more episodes on Mission Matters:http://missionmatters.com/author/Cyndee-Woolley/

From Failure to Knowledge: Building Confidence Through Podcasting with Terryl Humphrey

Join host Cyndee Woolley as she sits down with Terryl Humphrey, a Marine Corps veteran, author, and host of the Failure is Knowledge podcast, where he's recorded over 894 episodes helping entrepreneurs transform their experiences into visibility, authority, and opportunity. Raised by a single mother in Little Rock, Arkansas, Terryl's journey from struggling test-taker to confident entrepreneur offers profound lessons about persistence and self-belief. His high school coach once called him a "high rep guy"—someone who takes time to understand things—and that insight became the foundation of his mission: helping leaders embrace failure as a path to knowledge. Terryl shares his authentic story of launching five separate 90-day challenges to build a $100,000 podcast business, each attempt teaching him critical lessons about clarity, confidence, and persistence. His breakthrough came when he realized he'd already been helping people launch podcasts with confidence—he just needed to recognize his own expertise. This conversation explores practical strategies for overcoming self-doubt, building confidence on camera, and understanding that podcasting ROI isn't instant—it's like investing in the stock market, building brand value over time. Terryl emphasizes starting with solo content to master your platform before bringing on guests, and shares a remarkable story about sleeping through a tornado and the lesson it taught him about protecting what's essential to continue his work. His message is clear: invest in yourself, get comfortable with failure as learning, and remember that every episode builds from the last one, preparing you for success. Links and Resources:  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/terryl-humphrey/ Failure is Knowledge Podcast: https://open.spotify.com/show/2dXUe5CWCYKsgxxEa1vSyF Website: https://www.failureisknowledge.comAbout the Guest Terryl Humphrey is a Marine Corps Veteran, author, and the host of the Failure is Knowledge podcast—where he has recorded more than 894 episodes dedicated to helping entrepreneurs transform their experiences into visibility, authority, and opportunity. Rethinking Marketing: From Funnels to Mountains with Erik Wolf

Host Cyndee Woolley welcomes Erik Wolf, founder of Erik Wolf Live and known as a true marketing whisperer. With over 25 years in the industry, he witnessed the rise of Google and Facebook, mass media evolution, the fall of yellow pages, and now AI-driven sales and marketing. Yet the fundamental challenges remain: How do we budget? How do we measure success? And how do we make decisions that move our businesses forward?Erik introduces an approach to marketing budgets by tying expenses directly to customer lifetime value. Instead of arbitrary allocations, he advocates investing a portion of each customer's lifetime value to acquire the next customer—creating a sustainable, measurable growth model. He addresses the toxic nature of attribution models that pit marketing and sales teams against each other, proposing instead "marketing influence" that measures how marketing touches the entire pipeline without fighting over individual leads.Perhaps most provocatively, Erik dismantles the ubiquitous funnel metaphor. Unlike a physical funnel where everything that goes in must come out, sales processes have no such gravity. He reframes the customer journey as climbing a mountain—acknowledging that most abandon the climb. This shift emphasizes removing friction and meeting customers where they are rather than forcing everyone through a single narrow funnel.Erik introduces his "See-Get-Know" exercise and the "Rule of Four" framework, practical tools for creating marketing strategies that align with business goals, customer behavior, budget constraints, and specific stages of the customer journey. He champions integrated marketing communications and warns against silver-bullet thinking, emphasizing that PR, social media, SEO, and paid advertising must work together strategically—and that businesses need experienced strategists, not just tacticians.Links and Resources: Erik Wolf Live: https://ewolf.live/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/erikwolf/  Our guest today is Erik Wolf, founder of Erik Wolf Live and known as a true “Marketing Whisperer.” Erik’s passion goes beyond helping business leaders make breakthroughs in their marketing—he helps them improve their understanding of and relationship with their entire revenue cycle.
