There's No Such Thing As A Good Guy With A Gun, Episode 1339

There's No Such Thing As A Good Guy With A Gun, Episode 1339

We take a sober look at Saturday's massacre of African Americans in Buffalo. The shooting was partly because of white supremacy. But the REAL reason for the shooting is it's too easy for every lunatic in America to get their hands on an assault weapon. Our nation's gun laws are an act of collective suicide. We choose weapons over peace. We prefer profits for arms manufacturers over our own security. From guns to for profit healthcare Americans are killing themselves in the name of Mammon. CORRECTION: David identified Congresswoman Liz Cheney as representing Idaho. She represents Wyoming. We are sorry for both the mistake and the fact that there is a Wyoming or an Idaho. Also, how Haiti was forced to pay reparations to French slaveholders up until 1947. Yes, you read that correctly. Haiti had to pay reparations to the SLAVEHOLDERS. (2:03:54) Howie Klein (founder and treasurer of The Blue America PAC and author of Down With Tyranny) Howie does a complete rundown of Tuesday's primaries in Pennsylvania, Oregon, North Carolina, and Idaho. So good, I listen to episodes multiple times

David is an American treasure. His guests are carefully curated for their intellect, honesty, loving hearts and sense of humor. This show is deadly serious and lol funny. It might to be too stirring for you. Probably best you don’t listen. My numbing cocoon of ignorance was split open by a blade of truth; Yelling , tears and laughter poured out.

Calapooya ,

Good show

Feldman is the only comedian I still listen to for his opinion, because he's right, you should not get your news from comedians. Amongst the Jon Stewarts, Jimmy Dores and Joe Rogans, he gets grandfathered in because he's always seemed like an honest broker, while they're a gallery of, at worst neo-fascists, and at best, upholders of the neolib order. His guests range from Marxists to centrists and though I'm on the far left, hearing what the MSNBC crowd is thinking is instructive. And Feldman often challenges their views, which I like. My critique: can he leave the fat-shaming in another era? "OBESITY" is a stigmatized word, so constantly haranguing about it comes off as prejudiced, which makes Feldman's concern for public health ring false. Based on his rant about Dave Chappelle, I know Feldman knows better when it comes to marginalized groups. We need to protect them, correct?

Bill from the North ,

One-of-a-kind political podcast.

Good tough interviews, a wholesome rotating cast of regulars, and a wide variety of opinions and analysis from liberal to left. Yet David never strays from his deep commitment to working class politics and issues like universal healthcare. Every episode is packed full of thoughtful serious conversation as well as laughs, and the opening monologue is always a treat.
