I loved this podcast dearly and it was always a bright spot in my week. I even subscribed to Slate Plus just to hear the extra segment. I was so sad when the podcast abruptly ended.

I am regularly STUMPED by the supposed authority of the host: she regularly slaloms between judging the writers or their challengers and wild co-signing/promotion of their maladaptive behaviors and in her wisdom, issuing frankly antisocial responses (if someone comments on your decision to display a provocative self-portrait, demand that they defend their selfies? How mature). Maybe she’s just the right voice for the right time — there seems to be no shortage of terrible advice out there, and no penalty for dispensing it — but I frequently find myself having to turn it off halfway through.
