Deep Roots podcast
Found the story of Damien on some obscure news flash! What a brilliant encounter that was. I’ve been watching and listening since they left NY!! I live in the middle of nowhere outside Yosemite National Park….. he’s accomplishing something I could never imagine! His “chop wood, carry water” saying has gotten me through some very tough health issues in the last 3 months. Cheers Damien, cheers 🎉

Life lessons
I am not an ocean rower nor an extreme athlete nor a big fitness buff. However, I am a life buff… I’m so many times I have heard Damian share nuggets of wisdom that helped me in my day, as well as my continuously growing worldview and life philosophy. Ocean rowing is a great metaphor for life… chop wood and carry water all the way through enlightenment and to the other side! Damian is a master of mind control, and this is some thing I struggle with, so I am always interested in hearing how he gets through the most difficult, taxing, boring, repetitive, non-favored tasks and still identifies meaning in the experience.My own journey is one of sobriety and recovery, which is a lifelong practice requiring much self reflection, goalsetting, and humility.
I started following Damian during his first ocean row because I happen to have a connection to Antigua from my past and there were Antiguan rowers in the race he was doing, I got hooked thru social media. But I’m glad I’ve stayed along for the journey, looking forward to many more adventures! Thank you, sir! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
