Transmuting Shame Through Reparenting The Inner Child

In this episode, I’m talking about inner child healing, reparenting, and what it really means to meet the parts of yourself that still feel scared, unseen, or stuck in old survival patterns. This work is deeply personal to me as it has been the gateway to truly understanding my own patterns and behaviors. The awareness of our relationship with the little being inside of us illuminates how childhood wounds continue to shape our adult reactions, and why healing starts by getting curious about what is actually beneath the trigger. I break down the difference between the inner child, the outer child, and the adult self, and why so much of what we call “self-sabotage” may not actually be what it sounds like. Highlights: (02:04) - Why inner child work is the gateway to understanding self (07:05) - Childhood conditioning - how and why it still runs the show (12:28) - The reason this work is vital for healing trauma (19:43) - That “self-sabotage” is mislabeled (in my humble opinion) (24:42) - The difference between the inner child, outer child, and adult self as explained by Susan Anderson (32:56) - Some gentle guidance on ways to reparent your inner child for deeper healing Mentioned in this episode: “The Journey from Abandonment to Healing” by Susan Anderson Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. In this episode, I’m back with part two of my very candid conversation with my bestie, Kristine, who interviewed me for her podcast, Crystal Clear. I open up about old dating patterns, emotional unavailability, deep shame, and the ways I once hid parts of myself to feel more lovable. We unpack what it really takes to break painful patterns, find the courage to tell the truth, and how to stop abandoning yourself in relationships. In true best friend fashion, Kristine hits on the heavy and vulnerable topics with me, pulling out the real experience behind the scenes. While this healing work can bring you to your knees - it’s in the breakdown of personal posturing where the rewards are found. Highlights: (02:16) Friendships as a testing ground for intimacy and vulnerability in romantic relationships (05:58) My personal escapism in dating born out of shame (09:00) How an image consultation called me out and woke me up to the unserving identity I was projecting (17:17) The catalyst that led to unwavering self-commitment, breaking deep patterns (21:02) The inner battle between self-abandonment and inner devotion (22:30) Why the person who exposes your wounds is your perfect match (for a reason or a season) (24:35) How romantic partnerships are a mirror for your relationship with yourself (27:55) The point at which a relationship will always implode Listen to Kristine Munro’s podcast, Crystal Clear: On Apple On Spotify Learn more about Shine Image Consulting HERE Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. Strategic Self vs Authentic Self: Navigating Platonic Intimacy, Attachment Styles, & Romantic Partnerships with Kristine Munro (Part 1)

In this episode, I take you behind the curtain with a very open and honest chat with my bestie, Kristine Munro about the friendship we have built over the years that has truly healed and changed me. We talk about what it means to choose your authentic self over the strategic self: the one that stays quiet, plays small, and tries to keep everything “safe” - and how platonic intimacy is the gateway to understanding and healing relationship dynamics. We touch on vulnerability, emotional safety, and triggers in friendships, and the importance of understanding your attachment style in the context of nurturing connections, both platonically and romantically. This conversation is a deep reminder that we are all mirrors to one another and that the relationship you have with yourself shapes every other relationship in your life. It’s about healing in real time, being seen more fully, and letting love challenge you into growth. Highlights: (02:10) - Strategic Self vs Authentic Self and knowing the difference in relationships (9:00) - Where Kristine triggers me and how it reflects in my romantic relationship (16:30) - Love as a threat when it comes to attachment styles (20:05) - Healing through giving love in the way we didn’t receive growing up (22:15) - Why Kristine pulled away in our friendship and what it actually meant (26:30) - Conscious friendships as a testing ground for romantic relationships & challenge as love (30:35) - Building safety to expand your capacity for intimacy (34:20) - How my friendship with Kristine has continued building my secure attachment in relationship Listen to Kristine Munro’s podcast, Crystal Clear: On Apple On Spotify Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. How to Survive a Break Up: Choosing You After Heartbreak (Part 2)

This is part two of how to survive a breakup, and we’re going deeper. If part one was about feeling the pain, this episode is about rebuilding yourself inside of it. I’m sharing what’s helping me in real time, from redefining rejection and protecting my self-worth, to creating routines and rituals that anchor me when everything feels unstable. We talk about self-care as self-respect, breaking patterns instead of repeating them, and why this season is not a setback but a setup for what’s waiting for you. If you’re in the thick of it, I want you to know this is not the end of your love story. It’s the part where you come home to yourself and rise. Highlights: (03:10) Only you can reject you (07:40) Self-care as self-respect, and why your habits matter more than ever (10:05) Routine and ritual to create stability in emotional chaos (13:20) Positive self talk versus shame spirals (18:10) Date yourself first (23:45) How forgiveness, compassion, and keeping your heart open are your superhighway to lasting love Some Helpful Links For This Episode: Cord cutting meditation YouTube channel: Neville Goddard YouTube channel: Abraham Hicks Read “Wired for Love: How Undertstanding Your Partner’s Brain and Attachment Style Can Help You Defuse Conflict and Build a Secure Relationship” by Stan Tatkin DETACHED Episode 57: The Profound (and Psychological) Impact of Ritual on Mental Health: Listen on Apple Listen on Spotify Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. How to Survive a Break Up: Choosing You After Heartbreak (Part 1)

If you’re in heartbreak right now, adjusting to a new normal overnight, I want you to know you are not alone - in fact I’m right there with you. In this episode, I share what’s helping me move through the pain in a grounded way, from feeling your emotions instead of stuffing them down, to cutting energetic cords, protecting your mental health, and choosing yourself even when it hurts. This is about detachment - not as avoidance, but as self-respect. If you’re walking through a breakup, consider this your reminder that you were brave enough to love, and that still matters. And I want to remind you: you will get through this and it won’t hurt like this forever. Highlights: (02:15) The courage it takes to love, and why shame doesn’t belong here (05:40) Why relationships don’t always fail, but succeed because you broke the pattern (09:10) Stop hyper focusing on them, and reclaim your power (14:30) Feeling your emotions instead of numbing or replacing them (19:05) Blocking, boundaries, and protecting your healing (21:40) Gratitude, social media detox, and rebuilding your inner stability Some Helpful Links For This Episode: Cord cutting meditation YouTube channel: Neville Goddard YouTube channel: Abraham Hicks Read “Wired for Love: How Undertstanding Your Partner’s Brain and Attachment Style Can Help You Defuse Conflict and Build a Secure Relationship” by Stan Tatkin DETACHED Episode 57: The Profound (and Psychological) Impact of Ritual on Mental Health: Listen on Apple Listen on Spotify Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. The Missing Piece to Shift Your Mindset For Good

“Mindset”: the buzzword that, in my opinion, is wildly overused in personal development. For years, I was convinced this was where it all started. So many books, podcasts, and videos out there will convince you that if you just work harder on your thoughts, push through another challenge, or stay disciplined long enough, you’ll finally become the version of you that you’ve been striving for. But then without fail, you snap back to old patterns. Sound familiar? In this episode, I’m sharing the missing link that changed everything for me; the precursor to Mindset. We dive deep into the foundational piece of Identity, how your environment quietly reinforces it, and why decluttering is one of the most powerful personal development tools out there. This is about unlearning who you thought you should be and getting back to who you actually are. Highlights: (02:14) Why mindset work alone keeps pulling you back to square one (04:52) The “identity code” and how your story shapes your entire life (08:03) The self-sabotage myth, and what’s really happening underneath (11:27) Why most personal development programs miss the root cause (14:36) Decluttering as identity work, not just cleaning your house (17:58) Micro shifts that completely change how you see yourself Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. The Profound (and Psychological) Impact of Ritual on Mental Health

This week I’m sharing something deeply personal that has radically shifted my mental health and spiritual connection, ritual. Not routine. Not productivity hacks. Ritual. The kind that grounds you when anxiety spikes, helps you let go when attachment tightens, and recalibrates you when overwhelm takes over. After a season of intense growth, emotional release, and deep spiritual awakening, I realized how powerful intentional rituals have been in regulating my nervous system and anchoring me back into myself. We touch on the actual science that proves its ability to improve mental health, self-confidence, and overall wellness. In this episode, I break down the psychology behind ritual and walk you through three specific rituals I use to ground, release, and reset so you can design your own to enhance your mental state and bring ease and flow into your life. Highlights: (03:45) Why ritual is wired into the human brain (06:51) How rituals lower anxiety and regulate your nervous system (12:30) The difference between habits, routines, and rituals (18:40) Why symbolic meaning makes rituals so powerful (24:15) My grounding ritual for anxiety and self doubt (29:50) Letting go and recalibrating rituals that shift everything Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here. Unraveling the Patriarchy: The Harm, The Silence, and How Men Create More Safety for Women

Trigger Warning: Mentions of sexual assault and r*pe This is one of the most vulnerable and necessary conversations I’ve ever shared. In this episode, I speak openly about women’s safety, the patriarchal system we live in, and how deeply normalized harm towards women truly is. I reflect on my own lived experience of sexual assault and harassment, collective trauma through these horrific times, and the moment that forced me to see these systems more clearly than ever before. This episode is not about attacking men. It’s about accountability, awareness, and the opportunity and responsibility men have to create real safety. I invite men listening to lean into discomfort, notice defensiveness, and practice listening without fragility. And most importantly: Healing does not happen in silence, and safety begins when women are believed. Highlights: (01:37) Trigger warning, my Kundalini Awakening, and breaking out in hives (04:30) The male ego and fragility in patriarchy (6:20) “Boys will be boys” (08:10) The hidden ways women assess safety every day (12:40) Why silence and complicity cause harm (16:05) What actually makes a man feel safe to a woman (19:00) The responsibility men have beyond resisting assault Resources: Join SJ’s Spring Writing Retreat: WRITE THE DAMN BOOK! 5/7-5/9 in Denver, CO Follow SJ on InstagramDownload the Free Identity WorkbookGrab my SLAY YOUR STORY⚔🔥 Storytelling Masterclass here.
