I just came upon this podcast and was excited to see how many seasons there are! The interviews are so comprehensive and well done. I truly appreciate your empathetic and intelligent remarks; it’s what’s missing in many other podcasts. Please keep up the great work.

My heart broke for Emma, as you told her story I could not help the tears that rolled down my cheeks for Emma and all of her siblings. So strong and rightly angry at the decisions of the adults around her and yet just a vulnerable and traumatized kid in the end. Godspeed Emma.

Update: My first review was from more than 2 years ago. I kept the podcast in my feed because I’m willing to give another try after some time. Well, I tried again and I find the same observations I made previously. The host covers stories not likely to be heard on other shows, but still has not learned the art of editing interviews. They drag on and on and on. This time I’m out - removing from my feed. Original review: I listened to more than half the seasons, and tried to listen to some others, but ultimately I have to give up on this podcast. Some seasons are better than others. The downfalls are 1) interviews that drag on and on and on (other podcasters edit to hit the relevant points) and 2) the host dragging on and on with her theories. I like multi-episode series, but this just moves way too slow. I appreciate hearing about crimes not covered elsewhere, but I can’t anymore with this one.

Thank you for covering Mike’s case! I am Mike’s sister in law. Unfortunately I never knew Mike as a adult but did play with him and my now husband Jeff as children. My children are the ones who helped you. I can not begin to tell you how this has effected our lives over the last 43 years. Just knowing that their is people out there that are willing to help get answers is amazing!! I can only pray that something comes from this. I think I know better than anyone Jeff needs closure more than anyone. I want to also thank everyone who has helped you with this investigation and their kind words about Mike.

Two reasons to not use that guest: 1. Volume so low it is unintelligible. 2. Distracting blather. I fast forwarded it all.

I’ve listened to almost every available episode of this show. It’s good, and I really appreciate how it covers obscure cases. I do wish the host would make her credentials more obvious. I assumed that she was a journalist at first, but now I’m unsure. She clearly knows how to investigate and put a great-sounding, compelling, very respectful show together. The interviews are extremely valuable and contribute a ton to the podcast. The host has a good rapport with families, victims, and law enforcement. And I really appreciate the focus and research on evidence and trial testimony — that’s something that’s lacking from the majority of true crime shows. I did find myself a bit jaded toward the people involved in these cases by the end. Part of me was like ‘Let me guess: another bunch of lying petty criminals acting on their basest emotions?’ That may be a side effect of binging all the episodes in a row, though. Keep up the good work!

Jeni Decker is in a league of her own. She is so thorough, so articulate, and a genuine advocate for the victims of these stories. She is fearless in her research and detail. By far one of the best TC podcasts out there, and I give almost all of them a chance. Always thrilled for a new season, and I’m loving the new one. Excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
