We envision thousands of people from every corner of the city united under a new identity in Jesus and sent to love, serve and challenge the city…and the cities of the world. Out of personal gospel renewal, urban renewal will flow, as the very spiritual, social and cultural fabric of Seattle is redeemed. To achieve this, our prayerful aim is to create a movement of autonomous gospel-centered churches in every neighborhood of the city. Through the city, we'll reach the world.

We conclude our series in the Psalms called Singing in the Dark in which we’re focusing on five psalms of David when he was in trouble and distress. Its purpose is to help us learn what it means to look to God to protect us, lead us, and deliver us, in His steadfast love and faithfulness. Today, we look at Psalm 60, where David teaches the people of Israel how to engage with God when He has apparently rejected them.

Live Wholly For The Lord, Together

Live Wholly For The Lord, Together

We conclude our series in 1 Thessalonians. This is a warm, heartfelt, urgent letter written by the Apostle Paul, and his co-laborers, to a baby church they planted but were quickly forced to leave. It’s filled with loving gospel reminders, instruction on basic discipleship, and teaching on Jesus’ inevitable return. While written long ago, it feels just as relevant today in Seattle—a city much like Thessalonica.

Clarity re: the Christian Faith

This church clearly trusts Jesus and believes/preaches the Bible. The preaching is engaging, motivating, applicable to every area of life and most of all helps one clearly See, Know, Trust and begin to Love the person and work of Jesus.

Lead pastor’s preaching lacks empathy.

I have listened to DCC’s sermons on and off for the past couple years by attending their services or listening to their podcast because I enjoy the theological focus and exegetical approach to scripture. That said, I was bothered by the way Pastor Adam characterized Queen Esther (like a less vile Mark Driscoll in my opinion) but kept listening after that series ended. I decided to stop listening altogether when Pastor Adam called people psychopaths if they were not feeling convicted during his 12/8/2019 sermon on Romans 1. The Holy Spirit does not convict us by insulting us but by opening our hearts to the love of God in Jesus Christ. It doesn’t matter how much theological knowledge or expositional preaching pastors have if they do not maintain love and respect for people who feel differently than they do. I appreciate Pastor Adam’s zeal and efforts to share the gospel, but I don’t appreciate his harsh insulting words when discussing sensitive topics like sex trafficking and homosexuality.

Fantastic

A church plant based in downtown Seattle. Pastor Adam faithfully preaches on Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection and the impact of the gospel.
