Your Diary Is Full - But Are You Actually Profitable? Ep: 102

A full diary. Clients booked weeks ahead. No room for anyone new. Surely that means the business is doing well? Not necessarily. I've worked with practitioners who are incredibly busy; sometimes at absolute capacity; yet when we look more closely at what's happening behind the scenes, the financial picture tells a very different story. Because busy and profitable are not the same thing. And there are costs inside a practice that are incredibly easy to overlook. The hour you spend with a client isn't necessarily the only hour you're spending on that client. The money hitting your bank account isn't the money you're actually making. And a diary packed with appointments isn't necessarily filled with the right appointments. In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner, we're getting into the numbers behind a busy practice, including the hidden work that can dramatically change what you're actually earning. I also share the story of one fully booked practitioner who discovered that, once we did the maths, she was effectively earning just $15 an hour. Yep. While fully booked. If your practice is busy but you're still wondering where all the money goes, this episode might explain a few things. Because getting booked out isn't the finish line. It's the point where you need to start asking a completely different set of questions about your business. Your Follow-Up Is Probably Costing You Clients: Here's What I'd Fix: Ep 101

Follow-up is one of those decidedly unsexy parts of running a practice. It’s also potentially one of the most profitable. Almost a year ago, I recorded an episode about follow-up that went on to become one of the most listened-to episodes of The Abundant Practitioner. And there was one number in that episode that was particularly difficult to ignore: 40%. Which was the amount of extra clients you can convert, with the right follow up system. So I decided it was time to revisit the conversation. Because follow-up in your practice is much bigger than sending a polite email after a discovery call, and there are probably far more places where you're dropping the ball than you realise. In this episode, we're looking at what a proper follow-up process can look like across the entire client journey, why people disappearing doesn't necessarily mean they've decided against working with you, and the seemingly innocent gaps that can quietly cost you clients you've already worked bloody hard to attract. And no, this isn't about chasing people, sending awkward “we miss you!” messages or building 27 automations before lunchtime. It's about making it easier for people to take the next step when they're ready, and making sure your practice isn't relying on you remembering to follow everything up manually. If you've ever had an enquiry disappear, a discovery call go nowhere, a client vanish halfway through treatment or someone tell you “I've been meaning to book in for months”... This one is worth a listen. Because “not now” and “never” are two very different things. 7 Places Your Practice Is Quietly Losing Revenue: Ep 100

When revenue feels tight, most practitioners immediately think they need more clients. More marketing. More visibility. More leads. More bookings. But what if that's not actually the problem? What if there are already opportunities coming into your practice — and you're quietly losing revenue before it ever reaches your bank account? In this episode of The Abundant Practitioner, we're looking at the hidden gaps that can exist inside an otherwise healthy practice. They're often small, easy to overlook and don't necessarily look like a “business problem” at all. But multiply them across weeks, months and an entire year and the numbers can be surprisingly significant. In fact, I walk you through one seemingly minor leak that could easily be costing a practice almost $15,000 a year. And that's only one of the seven. This isn't about squeezing more money out of your clients or adding another complicated strategy to your business. It's about looking more closely at what you've already built and asking: Where is the opportunity I'm already creating going to waste? If you've been assuming the answer to slower revenue is “I need more clients”, listen to this episode before you spend another dollar trying to find them. Because sometimes growing your practice isn't about adding more. Sometimes it's about losing less. Practitioner Pulse | August 2026: Why Online Visibility Is Changing (And What Practitioners Can Do About It)

Online visibility has change, and if your practice feels harder to find than it used to, you're not alone. Search behaviour is shifting. AI is changing how people look for health information. Google is becoming more selective about what appears in search, practitioners are experiencing issues with Google Business Profiles, and the content strategies that worked a few years ago aren't necessarily delivering the same results today. In this August edition of The Practitioner Pulse, Cassandra looks at what's changing in online visibility, what she's seeing across practitioner businesses right now, and most importantly, what practitioners can do about it. In this episode: How AI is changing the way potential clients search for health informationWhy Google search isn't disappearing, but search behaviour is becoming more fragmentedWhat practitioners are experiencing with Google Business Profiles and website indexingWhy basic educational content may no longer be enough to get foundHow to create content that answers the questions clients are actually askingWhy experience, perspective and trust are becoming increasingly valuableThe importance of Google reviews and your email databaseWhy relying on one marketing platform leaves your practice vulnerableHow to build a broader marketing ecosystem around your practiceWhat Cassandra would prioritise if building practice visibility right nowThe good news? This shift doesn't mean you need to create more content. It means the quality, usefulness and trustworthiness of what you create matters more. The practitioners who adapt won't necessarily be the ones posting the most. They'll be the ones answering real questions, building genuine relationships and creating a practice that isn't dependent on one platform or algorithm. The Abundant Practitioner brings you practical conversations for practice success, with real-world insights into practitioner marketing, client attraction and building a thriving practice in today's changing market. Looking for personalised support with your practice? A limited number of places are currently available for Momentum Mentoring, my one-to-one mentoring program for practitioners. What Makes a Practice Memorable? Ep 98

Your next referral won’t come from a prettier website. It’ll come from the moment a client thinks, “my friend needs to come here”. We dig into what makes a practitioner genuinely memorable in 2026, when the market is shifting back to old-school reputation, trust, and consistent outcomes rather than loud branding and constant posting. We talk about why memorable practices are built over years, not overnight, and why integrity is one of the fastest ways to build real trust. I share how being honest, even when it means losing a client or a sale, can create the kind of respect that clients remember and repeat. We also break down the myth that “memorable” equals flashy, premium, or expensive, and look at the small behaviours that shape client experience, from starting on time to listening properly. Then we discuss why your client journey is so important right now, and how every touch point is an opportunity to build your practice.   We finish with practical ideas for tiny moments that create emotional memory, plus follow-up systems that support client retention, strengthen Google reviews, and grow referral marketing over time. If you want more word of mouth, better client loyalty, and a practice people actually talk about, hit play, then subscribe, share this with a practitioner mate, and leave a review so more people can find the show. What Clients Are Really Looking For Right Now: Ep 97

In this episode, Cassandra explores the biggest shifts she's seeing in client behaviour and what they mean for practitioners in today's healthcare landscape. From information overload and AI to trust, clarity and communicating your value, this episode will help you better understand how clients are making decisions—and how you can position your practice to meet them where they are. In this episode:  Why clients are feeling more overwhelmed than ever before  How AI, Google and social media are changing client behaviour  Why trust has become your greatest competitive advantage  The difference between certainty and making unrealistic promises  How simplicity builds confidence and credibility  Why clients are still investing in their health—but more intentionally  Practical ways to make your website and messaging clearer  Small changes that can help clients choose your practice with confidence Key Takeaway Clients haven't stopped investing in their health. They've become more thoughtful about where they invest their time, money and trust. Practitioner Pulse July 2026: Plan A Successful Next Six Months: Ep 96

Halfway through the year can feel brutal if your clinic bookings aren’t matching the goals you set back in January. I’m recording this Practitioner Pulse ahead of time while I’m away celebrating my 50th, and I wanted to give you something practical and grounding: a mid-year reset that helps you finish the year strong, even if the first half has felt slow, messy, or unexpectedly quiet. We talk about what I’m hearing across the market from practitioners, including a softer June and clients who are more deliberate right now. With Australian cost-of-living pressure, RBA rate rise uncertainty, and people watching budgets, decision-making can slow down. That isn’t a reflection of your value or your skills. The real risk is what happens next: comparisonitis, niche jumping, copying someone else’s offer, or disappearing because you feel wobbly. Six months is enough time to change the trajectory of your whole year, but only if you stop chasing shiny objects and get focused. I break down the “visibility gap” and why consistency matters more than ever across email, Google, and social platforms. Social media is a billboard, not your entire business, so we focus on foundational content that builds trust and makes it easy for the right clients to choose you. In a world of AI answers and content overload, trust is your edge, and it grows when you stay in touch, show up on video if you can, and keep your message clear. To wrap up, I guide you through building a simple plan from revenue backwards: what you want to earn, the consult numbers you need, and a marketing plan that prioritises email, SEO-friendly blogs, and smart repurposing into podcast and YouTube. Subscribe so you don’t miss the upcoming live Practitioner Pulse sessions, and if this helps, share it with a practitioner friend and leave a review. The Marketing Strategies Practitioners Have Forgotten: Ep 95

If you've been feeling like social media just isn't delivering the results it once did, you're not imagining it. In this episode, Cassandra explores why some of the most effective marketing strategies for practitioners are the ones we've quietly stopped using. From referrals and community relationships to SEO, evergreen content and reconnecting with past clients, this episode is a practical reminder that building a thriving practice doesn't have to rely on chasing algorithms or creating endless reels. If you're looking for grounded, sustainable ways to attract more clients, this conversation is for you. In this episode:  Why relying solely on social media is becoming increasingly risky  The power of referrals and relationship-based marketing  How community visibility can still grow a thriving practice  Why SEO and evergreen content continue to outperform short-lived content  Simple ways to reconnect with past clients and reactivate your database  How reviews, follow-up and referral networks can strengthen your practice  Why trust and reputation are becoming your greatest marketing assets Key Takeaway Marketing hasn't necessarily become harder. We've simply become distracted by the newest platforms and trends. The practitioners who continue to grow are often the ones investing in relationships, trust and long-term marketing strategies that continue working long after a social media post has disappeared.
