Episode 4 - Yoga Off the Mat with Taina Rodriguez Berardi

In this episode, host Amy Osborne and Taina Rodriguez Berardi explore the many traditions and practices of yoga off the mat - from hot vinyasa, to Hathayoga, to washing dishes at the kitchen sink. Taina shares a wealth of knowledge as a yoga educator, scholar and practitioner - as well as a mom to two twin toddlers. Join us in exploring how Yoga can be applied off the mat and the benefits unlocked when we challenge outdated limitations of the practice. GUEST BIO: Taina (she/her) is a yoga teacher and scholar-practitioner specializing in the history, philosophy, and textual traditions of yoga, with particular attention to Sanskrit sources. She holds an MA in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University, where her graduate research examined the intersections of modern transnational yoga, social justice movements, and activist communities. As a yoga teacher and Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) educator, Taina integrates critical and revisionist historical storytelling with embodied practice, movement therapeutics, contemporary health science, and trauma-informed approaches to wellness. She is deeply committed to cultivating equitable and accessible yoga spaces for people of all ages, body types, abilities, and backgrounds. Grounded in a belief in yoga’s universal relevance, her teaching emphasizes holistic integration—supporting the well-being of mind, body, spirit, and community. Taina lives in Fallbrook, California, with her husband, their twin toddlers, and a pastel calico cat. Together, they savor the meditative rhythms of outdoor life and enjoy exploring the beaches, mountains, and backcountry landscapes of Southern California and beyond.
