Find Your Light with Adam MacLean

Adam MacLean

Welcome to Find Your Light with Adam MacLean - a show where we shine a light on shame and imagine a Post Shame world. In Act One we’ll meet a Post Shame warrior - someone who we think is up to something special and has a tool to help teach us to dismantle shame. Then in Act Two we’ll play a little game of arm chair quarterback by re-examining someone’s public shaming through the lens of Post Shame. If they had had access to this tool before their downfall, do we think they could have come out of it a better leader and helped others struggling with something similar? We'll see!

Like Gandhi Says... with Coach Kevin Martin

Coach Kevin Martin is a prolific content creator, shame dissolver and Post Shame warrior. He uses adult content as part of his coaching practice, primarily with gay men. He's a coach in every sense of the word: in real life, and in a committed internet-character kind of way, too. I like to say that shame cannot survive in my presence and Kevin is the same way. In this conversation, I make the joke that — like Gandhi says — "Make the porn you want to see in the world." A riff, of course, on "Be the change you want to see in the world." But while researching the links for this episode I found out Gandhi never actually said “Be the change you want to see in the world.” That’s a kind of distillation of this real quote: "We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.” And I love this — because that's exactly what Post Shame and Kevin are up to.  Helping people move through the shame that's stuck in their bodies. Because like Gandhi actually says: we but mirror the world. As we dissolve our own shame… we help heal it in others. And if you’re curious about what I’m referencing with Björk - “Don’t let poets lie to you." You can Find Kevin on his website, Bluesky, Onlyfans and JustFor.Fans as Coach Kev Martin.  Find Your Light is made by the coolest #peepadoodles: Our brand design is by @ladolceveta & @salonisoni Our new social media manager is @colin.r.knapp Our theme music composer and show editor is @zachwachter You can follow Adam @adammacattck & @postshame Until next time, no matter how you’re feeling - down, up or sideways, just look for some light, turn towards the light. 2. Love Beyond Monogamy with Brian Murphy

Love Beyond Monogamy with Brian Murphy

Season 3, Episode 4 — Brian Murphy is a theologian, coach, and co-host of the Queer Theology Podcast. His new book, Love Beyond Monogamy, isn't a how-to manual — it's a meditation on life itself. You're going to hear the excitement in my voice during this conversation, because Brian helps me realize his own premise: that polyamory, at its core, is an exercise in cultivating awe and wonder in your life. That's the energy that guides everything here. Brian builds a world that feels big and generous: best friends, husbands, lovers, self-inquiry, and faith all woven together. What the book taught me is that life is lived in relationships — and that you're allowed to keep exploring yourself, your relationship, your desires. Even while married. Brian's the kind of person you can meander with — no shame, no rigidity — just exploration for exploration's sake. Abundance mindset at its best. Both Jewish and Christian traditions show up in our conversation — offered like an à la carte menu. Not dogmatic. Just invitations. Pick what resonates. We also get into sacred texts — and Brian gives me the most gorgeous tee-up to talk about Queer as Folk, The Ethical Slut, and Star Trek's vision of utopia as texts that have genuinely guided people in how they love. Maybe Love Beyond Monogamy will join that list. Brian also offers some beautiful, practical wisdom: slutty hospitality, and using prayers of thanks — for friends and for hookups alike — as a grounding practice for building the life you actually want. This conversation made me deeply consider how all relationships end — either by breakup or by death — and somehow that realization made me less afraid. Less afraid of prenups. Less afraid of jealousy. Less afraid, period. Love Beyond Monogamy is out now. You can connect with Brian for coaching at BrianGerald.com and find him on Instagram at @thisisbgm. 3. Body Count with Issy Knowles

    Body Count with Issy Knowles

Season 3, Episode 3 — Issy Knowles is the writer and performer behind BODY COUNT, currently onstage at Soho Playhouse in New York through March 29th as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Encore series. The show follows Pollie, an OnlyFans star determined to catapult herself to stratospheric fame with her most extreme stunt yet: sleeping with 1,000 of her subscribers on a trip to New York City. BODY COUNT tracks Pollie's journey through OnlyFans culture — from her confusing Catholic upbringing to her failed consulting career to her first taste of quick, "easy" cash. Through an empathetic and inquisitive lens, we're drawn into Pollie's complicated relationship with sex and asked to consider whether it's ever truly possible to sever your body from your heart. Our conversation centers on one of Post Shame's central tenets: the way shame is unevenly applied, especially on the internet. Issy offers unique insights on the world of modeling — which she explored in her show Model Behavior — explains what "Yachting" is, and shares how the commodification of her own body has informed her sympathy and fascination with the OnlyFans stars who inspired the show. Names you'll hear a few times are Bonnie Blue and Lily Phillips. Issy shouts out a new clowning show in London PRIMAL BOG and her flatmate, Elouise Efto, "Australia's First Attractive Comedian." 4. Hologram Boyfriends with Mike Albo

    Hologram Boyfriends with Mike Albo

Season 3, Episode 1 — “Welcome to my home!” and to Season 3 of Find Your Light with one of my favorite humans: writer, performer, cultural commentator, and future First Lady, Mike Albo. Mike has a new project out with Macmillan Audio called Hologram Boyfriends, and we dig into it: the loneliness and hilarity of connection online, the algorithm as a kind of dating landscape, and the choreography of longing in the digital age. Mike’s brain helps me understand the internet—why we’re exhausted by it, addicted to it, and also finding ourselves through it. We also talk about nudity as an act of peace, the soft power of being witnessed, and why Mike’s cast of character voices could single-handedly restore diplomacy in this country. In Act 2 we talk about Sinéad O’Connor, public collapse, compassion, and the cost of bearing cultural pain out loud. We reference Jon Ronson’s So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed and the infamous Justine Sacco moment in internet history.  We remember Aimee Mann vs. Ice-T Twitter (a simpler time).  And I’m still waiting for my promo deal with: Starface Hydro-Stars (the official sticker of public feelings/crying in your car): https://starface.world/collections/hydro-stars Mike is on instagram at @albomike Hologram Boyfriends is available from MacMillan Audio on every audio platform. I listened on Google Play and loved it.  Find Your Light is made by the coolest #peepadoodles: Our brand design is by @ladolceveta & @salonisoni Our new social media manager is @colin.r.knapp Our theme music composer and show editor is @zachwachter You can follow Adam @adammacattck & @postshame Until next time, no matter how you’re feeling down, up or sideways, just look for some light, turn towards the light.
