Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was not a simple show. And Fred Rogers was not a simple man. He was radical. Spiritual. Revolutionary. Maybe even subversive. Bestselling author and cultural critic Carvell Wallace hosts this 10-part series about the life, thinking and work of Fred Rogers, and asks what the cardigan wearing host of a decades-old children's show can tell us about how to get by in today's chaotic world. Produced in partnership with Transmitter Media.

A breath of fresh air

I find this podcast so calming to listen to, which I didn’t realize I needed in this stressful, hateful time in our country. So well done. Thank you!

Not the best

Couldn’t get into it honestly, for me, this was “too professional” and just came across as more of a lecture with people I couldn’t connect with. That’s just me though, obviously.

You Are Special

“There’s only one in this wonderful world, You. Are. Special”. I love this podcast and I hope they continue to produce more. It’s great to hear others share their “Neighborhood” story. Fred Rogers is a sea of calm in my earliest childhood memories and his legacy is a reminder of the innocence that can still exist at our core. Understanding now that empathy, and even kindness and compassion are tools of the strong, especially in trying times.
