Flash Forward is a show about possible (and not so possible) future scenarios. What would the warranty on a sex robot look like? How would diplomacy work if we couldn’t lie? Could there ever be a fecal transplant black market? (Complicated, it wouldn’t, and yes, respectively, in case you’re curious.) Hosted and produced by award winning science journalist Rose Eveleth, each episode combines audio drama and journalism to go deep on potential tomorrows, and uncovers what those futures might really be like. The future is going to be weird, so let's get ready for it together.

Flash Back to the Future: Mosquitoes, UBI, Coronavirus
Today is a very special ~~surprise~~ episode! I’ve been thinking about how to revisit old episodes, and give you folks updates on things that have happened since we covered certain futures. Sometimes things warrant more than a social media post, but not quite a whole new episode. So here’s a little experiment! On this episode, we revisit three futures and you get some juicy, fresh updates. We talk about a mosquito experiment gone wrong, a UBI experiment gone right, and what the heck is going on with coronavirus.
If you like this, let me know? There are a few other episodes I think are worth an update (The census is this year! A DNA testing company we covered was bought out by a lab that works with law enforcement! People in Sweden are flying way less!) and if you like this I’ll definitely do another.

Customer Reviews
One of my favorites!!!
Rose just seems so nice and passionate, and I always learn a lot!
This podcast is awesome!!
I started listening to your podcast in quarantine and have loved it! Gonna get the Patreon on payday. Episode idea- companies in Texas have been talking about a super fast train through the I-35 corridor for years but it seems like we’re always just a few years away. What do you think? Could we connect Dallas to Austin to San Antonio with a hyper train? I feel the average Texan would be interested in INTER-city transportation
Pretty great podcast.
This podcast has a lot going for it. The most important thing for any podcast imo is the hosts voice work, and she excels on this one. The topics can be hit or miss. Some are frankly quite boring, but most are great, and some are truly inspired. My favorite being the AI that created its own Flash Forward future with the witches on mars.
