    Lauren Muhlheim, Psy.D., FAED, CEDS is a psychologist, certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS), and IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) - approved supervisor who provides evidence-based treatment for eating disorders in the outpatient setting. She directs Eating Disorder Therapy LA in Los Angeles and is able to provide teletherapy in California and New York. She provides cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults and family-based treatment (FBT) for adolescents and adheres to Health at Every Size® principles. She is certified in FBT by the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders.
    Dr. Muhlheim is the author of When Your Teen Has an Eating Disorder: Practical Strategies to Help Your Teen Overcome Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating, published by New Harbinger Publications in September, 2018. This book is an FBT-based book for parents who are helping adolescents with eating disorders.
    Dr. Muhlheim is active in several professional organizations. Dr Muhlheim is the Eating Disorders Expert for Verywell (formerly About.com) and is Clinical Director of the Eating Disorder Information website, Mirror-Mirror Eating Disorders.     Savala Trepczynski is a writer, teacher, and social justice attorney. She is the Executive Director of the Thelton E. Henderson Center for Social Justice at UC Berkeley School of Law, convening scholars, activists, lawyers, and community members at the best public law school in the country to tackle social justice problems.
    Savala and her writing about race, gender, bodies and culture have been featured in/on NPR, Forbes, Bust, The Nation, Detroit Free Press, San Francisco Chronicle, and more. She is a regular keynote speaker and panelist on social justice issues, including body-based bias, implicit bias, structural racism, and understanding Whiteness.
    She has practiced law in San Francisco and Detroit, MI, and was a law clerk in the Obama Administration’s Office of White House Counsel, where she focused on constitutional law. Before becoming a lawyer, Trepczynski worked at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy.

Rich, informative, and inspiring

I am so glad to have found this podcast. The guests are great and the interview questions are probing. I really benefit from hearing about the relationships others have with food as I find them really validating. I am voraciously listening to these and hope to really utilize the experiences of others to improve my own relationship with food and fight the pull of diet culture.

Repetitive and irresponsible

Wanted to like this podcast but I just can’t. Answers are much to windy, padded with 100 disclaimers, and there are somethings that shouldn’t be said. For example, telling audience that it’s okay to eat gluten after being diagnosed with celiac is so misleading - that’s not intuitive eating or self care, that’s going against your doctors and your body’s wishes as it’s an autoimmune disorder. Not everything that’s a “restriction” is bad.

Compassionate, insightful and helpful

This is a wonderful place to start for anyone interested in intuitive eating or ending dieting or a disordered relationship with food. Christy Harrison does a great job showing how diet culture operates and she gives each guest a respectful place to share their knowledge and experience. I wish I’d heard this podcast 10 years ago!
