    Kayaking through the Northwest Passage: Dr. Maxime Geoffroy's 50-Day Expedition | S2, EP03

    In this episode of WaveCast, host Eugenie interviews Dr. Maxime Geoffroy, a Marine Institute research scientist who recently completed a 50-day, 2000-kilometer kayaking expedition in the Canadian Arctic. Dr. Geoffroy, an expert in bioacoustics, marine ecology, and biological oceanography, has dedicated much of his career to studying the Arctic. In this episode, Dr. Geoffroy shares his passion for studying the Arctic's unique ecosystems.     The Life of Students on a Research Vessel in the Arctic, Part Two | S2, EP06

    In this episode of WaveCast, host Eugenie Jacobsen welcomes back Master of Science students Ashley Oates and Gabby Perugini, alongside new guests Laure Vilgrain, a post-doctoral fellow working with Dr. Maxime Geoffroy, and Charlie Nakashuk.     Tidepool Mini Episode: Nautical Science Students Test their Skills at the Nautical Skills Competition | S2, EP08

    In this episode, host Kerri dives into the Nautical Skills Competition, an annual event hosted by the Master Mariners of Canada NL Division in collaboration with Fisheries and Marine Institute. This competition challenges Nautical Science and Marine Engineering students to test their maritime abilities through a series of exercises, including vessel docking in high winds, fast rescue craft operations, and emergency situations. Joining us are two current Marine Institute students, Hayley North and Julia Young, who will share their experiences preparing and participating in the competition. We'll also hear from Nautical Skills Committee chair Eben March, who provides insights into the competition.
