Gilbert House Fellowship

In 2005, when I purchased my first iPod. It was true to it’s promise of holding thousands of hours of entertaining recordings. I discovered podcasts and used all 60 gigs to hold myriad ghost hunting, conspiracy and history podcasts. As a Christian - I always tuned out when the ghosty shows turned into New Age preaching - which they ALWAYS did. This lead to a new search for something that wasn’t Joel Osteen and wasn’t Serial Killers all the time. This is when I discovered the world of P.I.D. Radio. Two folks - Derek and Sharon Gilbert - who seemed to believe exactly as I did - at a much higher level. They had genuine joy, affection for each other, and always took on compelling topics. Soon their “banter” grew and included a host of interesting conversations with people from the fringes of society who were studying truly interesting topics the likes I’d only heard on the Art Bell “Coast to Coast AM” and later George Nori show from my sleepless nights in college. Derek and Sharon would talk to them, learn from them and quickly steered away from the topics when the guests veered toward the new age topics. They were obviously Christians, they were also very bright and so very interesting. When they dove into conspiracy with “Connecting the Dots” I loved it. Throughout the years, I have been hooked! While my iPod lived for a few years and was replaced by other technology - I never lost interest in the various productions by these two. Sharon’s genius perspective as a biologist and student of The Word has always added a spice to any topic. Derek’s interests in interviews grew into “A View from the Bunker.” I was along for the journey when he took a job selling steel across the Midwest. When he took a position talking politics with a radio station - I was a regular listener to his “Off Road Fridays” or whenever I could tune on through internet radio. When working in various aspects of my own Real Estate career - painting one of my rental homes, driving to show homes or drifting off to sleep - Derek & Sharon were constant companions. A gift from God though the years - fun , difficult and successful. I would pop in my earphones and they would have a conversation with Someone who had studied Isaac Newton’s notes on how St. John appeared in the visions of Isaiah or how the giants of Genesis were being exhumed in Iran. The depth of topics never ran thin - talking about how King Nebuchadnezzar as the first werewolf, The Nephilim as cannibals or how vampires are the mirror antithesis of Jesus Christ. All this to say - I’ve never grown tired of hearing, reading the books of, or feeling of friendly kinship with this beautiful couple who have always been faithful journalists of the Truth, Defenders of the Faith and just fun people. Gilbert House Bible study is a wonderful addition to a magnificent oeuvre of entertainment and Christian thought.

I love their research and the content they deliver. For me, Sharon’s interjections are sometimes hard to follow, and she interjects frequently. Derek is very patient.

I must be ignorant or the episodes were saved in a backwards order. Would have given 5stars if I could just let it play on it’s own without manually stopping each episode and choosing the correct one to play next. Please correct me if I’m wrong Derrick. Besides this annoyance it is a great way to cut your teeth on scripture. Great job Gilbert’s!
