Season 2, Episode 3: Perimenopause & Menopause: What No One Prepared Women For

Understanding hormonal transitions, emotional changes, and how to support yourself through midlife. Perimenopause and menopause are often spoken about quietly, vaguely, or far too late. Many women move through this transition feeling confused, dismissed, or unprepared for how deeply it can affect their bodies, emotions, and sense of self. In this episode of Glowfully by Aléora, we explore perimenopause and menopause as whole-body transitions, not just reproductive milestones. We look at what perimenopause actually is and when it often begins, why so many symptoms are dismissed as “just ageing”, and how hormonal shifts interact with the nervous system, emotions, metabolism, and long-term health. This episode covers: What perimenopause actually is and why it often starts earlier than expectedSymptoms women are told are “just ageing”Oestrogen, progesterone, and the nervous system in midlifeBone, muscle, and metabolic health in menopauseHerbal and holistic support during hormonal transitionSex drive, vaginal health, and intimacy changesHow to support yourself through perimenopause and menopause without fear, shame, or dismissalThis is a calm, in-depth conversation grounded in women’s health physiology and holistic care. Why women experience digestive issues more often and how hormones, stress, and daily rhythms shape gut health. Bloating, constipation, and digestive discomfort are incredibly common for women, yet they are often dismissed, normalised, or treated with advice that doesn’t take female physiology into account. In this episode of Glowfully by Aléora, we explore women’s gut health through a whole-body, physiology-led lens. We look at why women are more prone to digestive issues, how hormones and stress affect digestion, and why symptoms like bloating and slow digestion are often forms of communication rather than problems to suppress. A Final Check-In for Season 1: Healing, Rest & The Future of Glowfully

This week’s episode is a little different, my love. I wanted to sit down with you for a gentle check-in as we officially wrap up Season 1 of Glowfully by Aléora. I’ve been really unwell over the last couple of weeks, and recording hasn’t been possible. So instead of pushing through, I’m giving myself what I’m always reminding you to take — rest, recovery, and space to heal during the winter season. Glowfully will be taking a short break for the remainder of the year, and we’ll return in January with a refreshed direction for Season 2. In the new year, Glowfully is expanding into deeper herbalism, non-toxic living, and holistic women’s wellness. As a qualified herbalist and holistic wellness practitioner, I’m excited to bring more evidence-based herbal support, nature-rooted practices, and accessible mind-body tools to help you feel grounded, balanced, and empowered in your everyday life. While the podcast rests, everything you need — including the full weekly blog posts normally linked to each episode — will still be published on Substack (byaleora.substack.com) and www.byaleora.com. You won’t miss any guidance, topics, or daily wellness content. All of our links can be found at: bio.byaleora.com Over winter, make sure you’re taking care of yourself: slow down, rest when you need to, nourish your immune system, and keep grounding your body through warm meals, herbal teas, gentle movement, fresh air, and plenty of hydration. Thank you for being part of Season 1. Thank you for listening, learning, and growing with me.I’ll keep you updated on social media, and I can’t wait to return in January with a stronger, deeper, more herbal Glowfully. See you soon, my loves xx
