Harvey Brownstone Interviews Bill Mumy, Renowned Actor, Musician, Writer and Author, “Danger, Will Robinson: The Full Mumy, A Memoir”
Harvey Brownstone conducts an in-depth interview with Bill Mumy, Renowned Actor, Musician, Writer and Author, “Danger, Will Robinson: The Full Mumy, A Memoir”
About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Bill Mumy, is an actor, musician and writer, who’s been entertaining the world since he was 5 years old.
In fact, he was by far the most successful, recognizable and popular child star in the 60’s and 70’s. He appeared in dozens of TV shows including “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”, “Bewitched”, “The Twilight Zone”, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents”, “The Fugitive”, and many more.
But he’s best remembered for playing “Will Robinson” on the iconic, classic TV series, “Lost in Space”, which holds a permanent place in pop culture history.
He starred in 4 Disney movies and appeared in many other films including “A Child is Waiting”, “Dear Brigitte”, “Palm Springs Weekend”, and “Bless the Beasts & Children”. In fact – and this is really jaw-dropping – this man worked with more legendary superstars by the time he hit puberty, than most A-list actors ever do in their entire lives. He worked with everyone from Red Skelton, Loretta Young, Franchot Tone, June Allyson, to Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Jackie Gleason – and yes, even Brigitte Bardot.
And get this: in a highly publicized interview, Jimmy Stewart said that our guest was the ONLY child actor he’d EVER worked with who was worth a damn. What a compliment!
As an adult, he’s appeared in many movies like “Papillon”, “Sunshine”, “The Twilight Zone movie”, “Double Trouble”, “Hard to Hold”, and the 1st “Captain America” feature film. And on TV, he’s appeared in “The Rockford Files”, “Star Trek: Deep Space 9”, “The Adventures of Superboy”, ”Matlock”, “Diagnosis Murder”, and he played “Lennier” for 5 seasons on “Babylon 5”.
And of course, EVERY “Lost in Space” fan was OVERJOYED to see him appear as “the real Dr. Smith” in the 2018 Netflix reboot of “Lost in Space”.
Throughout his life, he’s been a highly accomplished and popular musician, both as a solo artist AND as a member of several bands, including “Redwood”, “The Generators”, “Action Skulls” and “Barnes & Barnes”, whose song, “Fish Heads” became a worldwide hit. He’s released over a dozen albums. And he got an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.
Besides being an actor and musician, he’s had a prolific voiceover career, and he narrated over 50 episodes of A & E Biography. He was even the voice of Farmers Insurance for 11 years. He’s created and written numerous comic books, screenplays and novels. And for 4 years, he produced, wrote and hosted his own weekly radio show.
And now, FINALLY, he’s released his highly anticipated memoir entitled, “Danger, Will Robinson: The Full Mumy: A Memoir”, which gives us a very insightful, honest and entertaining look not only at his multi-faceted career, but more importantly, we get to know him as a son, grandson, husband, father, grandfather and human being.

About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Ann Hampton Callaway, is one of America’s most gifted, prolific and iconic artists – a mega talented singer, multi-platinum songwriter, recording artist, musician, and a beloved champion of the Great American songbook.
Her rich, perfect pitch voice and unique singing style, creating a brilliant blend of jazz and traditional pop, together with her trademark warmth and wit, have made her a renowned, sell-out concert artist across the country and internationally. She’s performed with more than 40 of the world’s top orchestras and big bands, at the most prestigious concert halls including Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Centre, the Kennedy Center, Boston Symphony Hall, and many more.
She has shared the stage with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie, Stevie Wonder, Liza Minnelli and Betty Buckley, to Audra McDonald, Christine Ebersole, Melissa Manchester and Michael Feinstine.
As a songwriter, she’s simply phenomenal. She’s the only composer to have collaborated with Cole Porter. She’s written songs with many of the greats, including Carole King, Amanda McBroom, Shelby Lynn – and most recently, with my dear friend Melissa Manchester.
And her songs are featured on EIGHT of Barbra Streisand’s albums. She’s recorded 16 critically acclaimed albums including, “Bring Back Romance”, “After Ours”, “Slow”, “Blues in the Night”, “Jazz Goes to the Movies”, 2 Christmas albums, 2 albums with her incredibly talented sister Liz Callaway.
And now, following the enormous success of her tribute albums to Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, she’s released her highly anticipated brand new album entitled, “Fever: A Peggy Lee Celebration”, containing 14 beautiful songs made famous by the legendary Peggy Lee.
The list of accolades and awards our guest has amassed, is jaw-dropping. She got a Tony award nomination for Best Actress for her performance in the hit Broadway musical “Swing”. She’s won the Theater World Award, 15 MAC Awards, the Mabel Mercer Award, and the Johnny Mercer Award for Songwriting. She was voted by Broadway World as “Performer of the Year”, and 2 years in a row as “Best Jazz Vocalist”. And last year, Broadway World named her “Entertainer of the Year”.
And if ALL THAT weren’t enough – yes, it’s true – she’s the one who wrote and performed that wonderful theme song for the hit TV show “The Nanny”.

Harvey Brownstone Interviews Tony Orlando, Superstar Recording Artist and Entertainer, Pt. 2
Harvey Brownstone conducts a second in-depth interview with Tony Orlando, Superstar Recording Artist and Entertainer
About Harvey's guest:
Today’s special guest, Louise Sorel, is a multi-award winning and beloved actress who’s been dazzling audiences for over 6 decades.
Over the past 2 ½ years, we’ve had close to 300 guests on our show, and ALL of them have been an absolute pleasure to meet, and to interview. But NO ONE has generated the intense emotional response, and overwhelming outpouring of love, that Tony Orlando created when he first appeared on our show a little while ago.
Tony and I both believe that something magical happened during that interview, because what you were witnessing, was the realization, by a legendary artist, possibly for the first time, of the very significant impact his career has had within the entertainment industry, and for his fans. You were also witnessing the creation - in real time - of a deep and powerful friendship – a bonding of two hearts.
Both he and I were INUNDATED, not only with thousands of comments from fans expressing just how much that interview meant to them – but with an equal number of requests that we invite him back on our show to continue that very special conversation.
In fact, a number of devoted Tony Orlando fans have sent me several pages of questions they would like me to ask him. And I’m INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL that this BEAUTIFUL human being has agreed to, once again, take the time out of his very busy concert schedule, to appear on our show.
And so, by popular demand, I am THRILLED and VERY HONOURED to welcome back to our show, my very dear friend, the SUPER FABULOUS Tony Orlando.

Her other stage roles include “Lorenzo”, “Man and Boy”, which she did in London, and “The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window” on Broadway opposite Rita Moreno. She also co-starred with George C. She then began a long and successful career in Hollywood. On the big screen, you’ve seen her in “The Party’s Over”, “B.S. I Love You”, “Plaza Suite”, “Airplane 2: The Sequel”, “Crimes of Passion”, and the 1984 remake of “Where the Boys Are”.

But there’s NO QUESTION that our guest has become a LEGEND in the world of daytime drama – first as the eternally hopeless nosy meddling neighbour, “Augusta Wainright” on “Santa Barbara” - and then, as the strong willed District Attorney Judith Russell Sanders on “One Life to Live”, and then - in her most unforgettable role EVER - as the flashy, aggressive, cold and calculating evil family matriarch, “Vivian Alamain” in “Days of Our Lives”. Her opulent, villainous, show-stopping performances on that show have won her 5 CONSECUTIVE Soap Opera Digest Awards, including "Outstanding Villainess", "Outstanding Showstopper" and TWICE for "Outstanding Scene Stealer".

Amazing!
Such a pleasure being featured as a guest on this podcast. Harvey is a true pro at what he does; doing the work behind the scenes to ask the real questions on the mic. One of the great interview series out there! 💪🏻
Great Podcast for the Performing Arts!
Just discovered this wonderful podcast with interviews of a very wide range of folks in the arts. I have a particular interest in Golden Age Hollywood information and Harvey Brownstone is very good at finding folks who even 75 years after the actual events are very knowledgeable and able to open up some time travel portals for the rest of us!! Kudos!
