SOLO: Call Her Daddy, Lana Del Rey, & Cancel Culture

SOLO: Call Her Daddy, Lana Del Rey, & Cancel Culture

I wasn't planning on going solo this week, but there's an overload of truly insane quarantine-induced internet drama that simply NEEDED to be addressed and shut down. (5:11) We start with the Lana Del Rey controversy, which leads me to talk about the hypocrisy of modern feminism, my own experience with emotionally abusive relationships, and how the popularization of hip-hop has led to widespread but accidental cultural appropriation. (22:10) Then, we get into the Barstool vs. Call Her Daddy beef, which leads to a bigger discussion (39:12) about online bullying, the problems with the instant-fame reality TV cycle and cancel culture. (47:17) And finally, we top it all off with YOUR Quarantine Confessions about masturbation.

Private School Kids: NYC vs. Europe, Pt. 2

Private School Kids: NYC vs. Europe, Pt. 2

Another week of scorching the tops of our mouths with even HOTTER tea about what it's like to grow up and throw down in the wealthiest, most exclusive private schools around the world!

(7:58) I kick things off with some fanmail, including a request for me to become someone's pimp and a 24 year old catching feelings for a man THREE TIMES her age; (18:35) then, a "shit"-ty pre-Quarantine Confession from one of the funniest dudes I know.

Our rich teen stories come from: (22:07) a sexual scandal-riddled boarding school, druggy day school filled with the 'country's most eligible people', first-ever all girls school, and an American at an international school, all in London; (34:24) two of my friends who spent a rowdy year at an international school in Switzerland (and then continued in New York); (1:08:22) and another friend whose diplomat parents led her to spend 4 years going wild at an international school in KENYA! (Not Europe, but who cares.)

Private School Kids: NYC vs. Europe, Pt. I

Private School Kids: NYC vs. Europe, Pt. I

Throughout quarantine I've developed an unhealthy obsession with Netflix's 'European rich kid' programming (Elite, Baby, etc.) - designer clothes & uninvolved parents & threesomes, oh my! - but I kept wondering how much was accurate. So, I put out a call on IG for European private school students to come talk about the taboo subject of MONEY and compare and contrast their experiences growing up privileged.

(4:27) After sharing a bit about my downtown Manhattan background, we hear submissions from girls who went to British boarding schools (22:23), including a notorious international one in central London; a school in Sapporo, Japan (31:40) (not Europe, but I couldn't say no to that viewpoint!); Oslo, Norway (37:27); Madrid, Spain (40:50); Como, Italy (47:33); and Bosnia (50:29). Lastly (53:56) my friend Leon - who came to New York from the France/Switzerland border in 8th grade - gives us a lesson about the French education system and differences between his social scenes across the ocean. // Leave your Quarantine Confession voicemail at 646 389 1781 // Follow Ali at www.instagram.com/healthishell & www.twitter.com/aliweissworld

SOLO: Drinking and Drugging In Quarantine

SOLO: Drinking and Drugging In Quarantine

This week I fly SOLO to spark some joy with stories of my bizarre glow-up, obsession with Netflix's horny European teen dramas, and case for staying the absolute, literal hell away from social media right now. Then, we dive balls-deep into my unexpected quarantine sobriety journey and why it's bettered my life tenfold (while making me morbidly insecure that I've lost my signature edge), as well as YOUR Instagram-submitted anecdotes about recent substance abuse (or avoidance). The Quarantine Confessions hotline also explodes with poppers, condom-coated hammers, and more info about last week's army base orgies. Drug Dealers in Quarantine

    Drug Dealers in Quarantine

Drug dealers are undoubtedly 'essential workers', and this week I had the privilege of speaking to 3 from New Zealand (20:43), Australia (31:35), and New York (37:05) about how both business and the concept of escapism have changed all over the world in the face of COVID. I also judge the first round of YOUR insane, sexually charged Quarantine Confessions, and recount the 'cookie scandal' that rocked my family. // Leave a Quarantine Confession voicemail at 646 389 1781 // FOLLOW ALI at www.instagram.com/healthishell & www.twitter.com/aliweissworld

Fear and Loathing at Miley Cyrus Concerts with Boris Johnson (feat. Grace Campbell, comedian)

Fear and Loathing at Miley Cyrus Concerts with Boris Johnson (feat. Grace Campbell, comedian)

I was meant to meet comedian Grace Campbell (@disgracecampbell) when I was living in London, but was too depressed to make our date; luckily, she was too hungover to make it either. CLEARLY we were meant to be friends, and decided to hang out for the first time over Zoom.

Join us as we chat about, yes, Quarantine and COVID, but also her famous political family, filthily sexual one-woman show, and our mutual masturbatory fantasies about Instagram verification...plus being hot to disguise dementia and fears about aging as it relates to creativity. You know - the usual. // FOLLOW ALI at www.instagram.com/healthishell & www.twitter.com/aliweissworld // Leave a Quarantine Confession voicemail at 646 389 1781

🔥🔥🔥

Found Ali’s Instagram page about a year ago during a late night IG scroll when I should have been asleep. Her posted content and Instagram stories had me cracking up! So uniquely relatable, straight up LOL-omg Witt a side of wit. Take a listen, you’ll be addicted

Wittiest Podcast Out There...

Ali Weiss is one of the smartest and funniest millennials I've ever listened to. Her personality is a party. There aren't many podcasts that accurately pinpoint issues ranging from dating culture to human behavior like this one does. Health Is Hell helps you realize you're not alone with struggles life can bestow upon you. I love how she tackles gender mentality with her platonic guy friend Graham (refreshing!) Might I add the guests are just as intrguing as their stories.

Looove

This is one of the only two podcasts I listen to and I literally looove it. It’s hilarious and talks about topics we all want to know about/experience. I saw another review call Ali “simply delicious” and they couldn’t be more right. Definitely bad b*$@h vibes which we all want and need!!
