This episode features Dr. Darnisa Amante-Jackson, co-founder of DEEP - the Disruptive Equity Education Project - in conversation with host Jessi Hempel, about how to do that work with love.

Going Global from a Small Town with Blue Delta Jeans

Going Global from a Small Town with Blue Delta Jeans

Earlier this year, just before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down so much of the world, Jessi traveled to Tupelo, MS, to interview the founders of Blue Delta Jeans, Nick Weaver and Josh West for an episode of Hello Monday. Nick and Josh are small business owners with a twist: Their base of operations is in Tupelo, but their business - selling bespoke jeans - happens online and around the world. A bunch of MLB and NFL athletes swear by their jeans. So does Nicole Kidman. In the first half of this interview, they talk about how they got started and what it means to build industry in their hometown.
When the pandemic hit after the first part of this interview, Blue Delta Jeans figured out a way to keep the lights on and be of service to their community. In the second half of this episode, they share their experiences as SMB owners during the pandemic, and how they augmented their business to supply PPE to first responders in Mississippi.

I was listening to several of Jessie’s Podcasts, and must say I have found them quite interesting. I use the word “interesting”, “as they are all from various types of people with many different backgrounds, and in a variety of Fields of in Business, Operation of Factories, along with many whom are looking for direction, as we whether Covid 19 .

This Interview with Dorie Clark, was by far my favourite, if all Podcasts; as it gave me many ideas how to “Reinvent” myself!
Please have a listen, you will be immediately inspired by Dorie Clark, as she takes you in a voyage of her own from 9/11 to the present in her own life as a Reporter.

I was quite pleased, especially with the Podcast with Dorie Clark. This was an Interview based on “ Reinventing Yourself “.
In these times, as a changing “ way of life as we one knew “ before COVID 19; Dorie was absolutely phenomenal, as she offered exceptional advice, to the listener on how to “ Reinvent Yourself “ especially if the COVID Virus, has impacted those financially.
Within her book she has written, and her personal experiences, within the art of Reinventing herself; as you will clearly have a positive outlook for your own future after hearing what Dorie Clark has suggested.
In her Book, refers to “ Reinventing Yourself “ as a model for those whom may find themselves in this very position.
I so enjoyed this Podcast, as it is my favourite. It appears to access the spotlight on where to find your new way of life as we venture through this pandemic!
Dorie Clark , gave a unique way for finding other areas of inspiration as we “ Reinvent Ourselves “, and move in possibly an entirely different direction from that of which we have lived before the changes of COVID 19.
Truly an exceptional, and must hear Podcast for all that have been affected by the COVID 19.

My new favorite pod

Okay, super late to this but better late than never! Jessi and the Hello Monday team produce a succinct, thoughtful show that examines how we work & what motivates us.

I’m only 4 or 5 episodes in and I’ve been going back through the first season while out on my daily walk breaks. If you like How I Built This check out the episode with Guy Raz first!
