High Gravity is a show where we talk about beer, brewing, and b******t! Our primary goal is to talk about Michigan goings on in the beer world and local happenings around our beautiful state. Our aim is to present this information in a fun and not too serious way so that everyone from new brewers and beer drinkers to the most seasoned and experienced enthusiasts can enjoy the show! The more we drink during the show, the more comes out and the more fun we have so language CAN get a bit colorful at times though we do our best to keep it in check, most of the time!!     Episode 123: Episode 123 HA! That seemed like a funny title when I was editing so I rolled with it... ANYWAYS, we start our sort of salute to Valentines days with Johnny's sad and depressing plans for the night then get into a PHENOMENAL selection of beers we have for this week. While there is certainly some BS as always that you all have come to know and love, there was a lot of good beer talk with these beers this week. I'll keep the notes short again so grab a beverage, sit back and enjoy the show!     Episode 121: His Name Jeff The guys are joined by Mr. Jeff (aka duffman) once again with some ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC beers on the show today! Stories abound from last nights dinner and beers gathering at Mr. Jims house, also some stories from California, stuff about hot peppers and a bunch of other stuff. Pretty heavy beer related episode and MOSTLY on topic throughout but still lots of fun and funny stuff! There's more but I am EXHAUSTED as I'm editing and writing this, I'm also going to be quite late to drop this (sorry...) so I'm going to finish up and crash out, grab a beverage and enjoy!!     Episode 120: Reach for the Starrs Well, it happened again, the guys were out of beer so they did a whole episode about Starr Craft brews, including a couple of new beers not yet available! There is a decent amount of BS and general conversation/beer conversation in this episode but all of todays beer (except the two...) are available RIGHT NOW at Starr Craft Brewery in Richmond Mi! Part way through they are rejoined by Mr. Matt after his return from a dog food sale. The guys get into stuff about quality of domestic vs foreign food ingredients, bitcoin mining, Iceland and to be honest, I was working on taxes in between editing  and doing notes so kinda forgot to add some notes but enjoy the beer talks, ramblings of the guys with your favorite beverage! Absolutely, stop in to Starr Craft Brewery to check out one of the beers talked about today and to try out one or more of their other FANTASTIC beers or wines AND to try out some Scalici's pizza from the Speakeasy in the back!     Episode 118: Whistle Pig The guys start this episode off with some fantastic bourbon and then a discussion about sparkling water... Don't worry, they get back to beer though after that! Stayed tuned for this whole episode too, there is a special music commercial before the show ends!! We get into a bit about bottle and equipment cleaning, Johnny attempts to tell a joke, we talk about chilling wort while making beer, brewing systems, and a bunch of other stuff... Not going to lie, quite tired so you're getting cliff notes for this weeks description. Conversation got weird enough JOHNNY had to bring it back to beer at one point while talking about a past party at Jims house; among other misc stuff, the guys talk about some new shows they want to watch, a new cartoon that's coming out, there's other stuff but think I'm done typing for now... OH and enjoy the song in this one! DEFINITELY a longer commercial break than normal but it's awesome!     Episode 117: Firestone

    Episode 117: Firestone Sliding right on into the episode this week, the guys get into some awesome beers from Firestone Walker Brewing Company out of California, courtesy of Mr. Jeff, thanks again Jeff!! First and foremost, apologies for Johnnys coughing, got some lingering BS going on that's been REALLY annoying. The episode stays mostly on topic again with a good variety of different beer from Firestone, PLENTY of side stories of course of the guys holidays gatherings, including a shout out and huge congratulations to Johnny's brother and his now fiance Kate! Other conversations on odd and random topics as usual, one of which was in another language for a few lines and then back to the topic at that time though still all mixed in with beer talk.     Episode 116: Collision Bend Brewing

    Episode 116: Collision Bend Brewing Originating from a day trip to Cleveland, some dude named Phil standing in the street with a stack of pallets (Hey Phil) and a quick discussion about a can of PB Blaster, a few fantastic beers followed Johnny home to become this episode! Previously from Great Lakes Brewing Company, NOW from his own brewery, Collision Bend Brewing Company, Mr. Luke Purcell joins the guys for their first remote phone interview! Getting into some stories of his and the brewery's history, the area surrounding it and even a story about the Edmund Fitzgerald Porter (by GLBC) AND how the river by the brewery caught fire a few times. Yes I did say a RIVER CAUGHT ON FIRE!! Unusually MOST of this episode is about beer, breweries, the brewing process and our community as a whole. While not a lot of BS the guys manage to stay on topic almost the entire time! LOTS of GREAT conversation with Mr. Luke and while this episode is one of our longer ones, the only reason we stopped was the brewery was about to open and we still had to clean up... Thanks again to Luke, Phil and all the crew down at Collision Bend Brewing for the great beers and great conversation!
