Dr. Robert Barratt: Computational Archaeologist at Queens University, Belfast. Ancient civilizations intentionally aligned monumetal architecture with the stars, but to what extent? In this thought-provoking discussion, Dr. Robert Barratt shares his recent archaeoastronomy paper, analyzing the work of ancient cultures, questioning the deliberation behind alleged celestial patterns that are claimed to be woven into their architecture. He examines the controversial theories of Graham Hancock and the broader debate of coincidence versus intentionality in ancient astronomy. From the Great Pyramids to Göbekli Tepe, how much did early humans truly understand about the cosmos? #archaeology #history #grahamhancock #ancientmysteries #archaeoastronomy #gobeklitepe #göbeklitepe #ancientcivilizations #historyfuzzpodcast Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more historical deep dives! 🚀🌌 About History Fuzz: History Fuzz podcast is a realm of contemplative inquiry wherein leading research scientists explore the motivations, tools, and skills of the ancient skywatchers, surveyors, architects, and builders who created awe-inspiring structures in monumental landscapes, enshrining their diverse cosmic chronicles in stone. #21 - Dr. Allard Mees. Magdalenenberg: Germany's Ancient Mega Mound

You are about to explore the intersection of ancient astronomy and prehistoric engineering, at Germany's Magdalenenberg mega mound. Joining us is Dr. Allard Mees, an archaeologist and head of the scientific IT department at the Leibniz institute of archaeology in Mainz, Germany. Allard takes us on an extraordinary journey through, around and above the archaeology of this massive ancient superstructure, unveiling its role as a sophisticated tool of archaeoastronomy for charting the movements of the sun, moon, and stars. Describing the Antikythera mechanism as a "Black Forest cuckoo clock" Allard reveals how both this device and the ancient mound marked the changing seasons, shaped cultural practices, and orchestrated ritual activities, offering profound insights into the ingenuity of its creators. #17 - Professor Marc Frincu. Ancient Astronomy in the Armenian Highlands

Professor Marc Frincu is an authority in distributed systems, big data, smart grids, astronomy, and archaeoastronomy. Marc is also the secretary of the European Society for Astronomy in Culture and vice-president of the Romanian Society of Cultural Astronomy. In this episode Marc guides us deep into the Armenian Highlands and relives his extraordinary discoveries of Bronze Age astronomical devices. He discusses the functionality of mysterious spiral and cup-shaped petroglyphs, and delineates crumbling stone structures with starburst alignments to surrounding burial sites and mountaintops. We also dive into Yazidi cosmology, and Mark outlines a north to south Bronze Age meridian line defined by a cone of stones framing the circumpolar stars. And seeking meaning, we discuss ancient perception of the north sky and how it was perhaps associated with notions of mortality, and infinity.
