Talking With Kids About Tragedy – Special Replay

Talking With Kids About Tragedy – Special Replay

    Talking with Kids About Tragedy

Tragedy. In terms of media and social media, tragedy has become a staple of our daily diet. The world seems to be going crazy and the news is full of stories that are difficult for kids to process and understand. How do we talk to our children about race issues, murder, terrorism, and other tragic current events?

On this episode, we dive right into modern events and take on the headlines of the day. We discuss ages and appropriateness of content and conversation, how to address our children's fears, and of course how to bring the gospel into every conversation.

Special Replay: How Do I Make Homeschooling Fun?

On today's episode of Homeschooling In Real Life,  Martha called in to ask, "How Do I Make My Homeschool Fun?" We loved this question, so both Fletch and Kendra take a stab at answering. As you have come to expect, their answers line up perfectly with the "have to" parent and the "get to" parent.  Tune in to make your homeschool fun!

Back to Homeschool: I Love Homeschooling But I Am Totally Disorganized

Back to Homeschool: I Love Homeschooling But I Am Totally Disorganized

So you love the idea of homeschooling, but you are totally disorganized? Is this a deal killer? Should you pack up your kids and send them off to the local school house where they will be kept on track by rigid teaching plans that maintain scope and sequence?

Thank you to our sponsor: CTC Math

It's time for us all to get real with one another. Is your lack of organization thwarting your efforts at homeschooling? At the end of the day, the week, the month, are you constantly playing catch-up and putting out the fires caused by disorganization? If so, this is the episode you will want to listen to.

What about the other side of this issue? As a busy productive homeschool parent, have you forgotten along the way that relationships need to come before agendas? Are you such a task-master that you forgot the children God gave you to develop loving relationships with?

Organization in the homeschool can be both a blessing and a curse. On this episode of Homeschooling In Real Life, join Fletch and Kendra as they get transparent with their listeners and have the discussion out loud about balancing the need to bring organization into your family and preventing that same organization from destroying relationships.

A new favorite

The podcast I never knew I always needed! Listening to these two always leaves me feeling encouraged and HOPEFUL, even when the topics are tough. I so appreciate the perfect blend of humor, humility and hard hitting honesty!

Real People, Really Relatable, and Really Gospel Driven

I have been listening to the Fletcher's for a few months now. It's so refreshing to hear a veteran homeschool family discuss real life situation in such a down to earth manner and voice that homeschooling isn't the magic bullet to save your kids. I think every homeschooler regardless of your style or philosophy should add this to your playlist.
