I Hate Bill Maher

Hi Will! I started listening to your podcast when I caught you on “A Bit Fruity” and liked your personality. Knowing nothing about Bill Maher I found it fascinating to listening to the episodes chronicle this pathetic idiot’s saga via television that people actually watch, on purpose, by choice. It’s a whole other world out there sometimes. I like this podcast because it presents to you an awareness of people like Bill (is Bill a person or sentient pudding) that exist and influence aimless insecure white Americans while getting paid by HBO (seriously HBO? pathetic.) Will you are a nut, keep doing what you do. I miss the second to last intro though, my fave.

This is my favorite podcast of all and I listen to a lot. It’s funny and brilliant and insightful even if you don’t know or care who Maher is. Will is a talented comedian who is always making me laugh and he’s also intelligent and kind. His guests always are, too.

One of the progenitors of the TV recap podcasts was Go Bayside in 2013 where April Richardson and a comedian guest watched an episode of Saved by the Bell. I think that’s where I first heard of Will. One of the charming things about that show was that each episode she was amused by little quirks in the reality of Saved By the Bell and taking her guest along for the ride. It was often the same thing that she was amused by and she was approaching it on the same angle. But it works because you’re all sharing in this ridiculous thing and she was charming and interesting. This has the equal and opposite energy to that. Really the only issue is that binging the show will drive you personally insane, but that’s not the shows fault. Five stars

This show is not productive but it is cathartic and sometimes that’s all you need.
