Bloomington-Normal retailers feel the need for NeeDoh

The NeeDoh is in short supply as kids and parents across the Bloomington-Normal area seek the popular fidget toy. Retailers in Bloomington-Normal like Red Raccoon Games and the Garlic Press offer the NeeDoh, but both limit purchasing to two per person, per day. Even with these policies the stock runs out fast. The company that manufactures the toy cut off new orders from new accounts because of a struggle to fulfill the newfound demand from existing accounts. Uptown Design Review Commission OKs proposals for Trail East, Trail West

A $60 million proposal to build a pair of multi-use buildings on Uptown Circle could go before the Normal Town Council as early as this month. Creating a Trail East and Trail West development has been a town goal for more than a quarter of a century. In recent years, the town renewed its interest and moved forward with several proposals, but they never came to fruition. But the wait could be over. Bloomington Mayor checks in with peers on data centers

Bloomington Mayor Dan Brady said when it comes to the ongoing discussion of data centers, he’s looking ahead to the city’s next public hearing on the subject in late August. Bloomington 9-year-old to compete in 2026 Pokémon World Championships

From the legendary pocket monster known as Ogerpon on his hat, to the Croc charms of Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charizard on his shoes, a Bloomington boy proudly displays his love for Pokémon. The franchise first launched as a video game in 1996. In the 30 years since, it exploded in popularity. Now it can be found in various forms: plushies, toys, animes, movies and trading cards. That last category is where 9-year-old Owen Wheeler shines. Later in August, he will compete in the 2026 Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco. A new state agency aims to ease McLean County's childcare crisis. Providers say the money problem remains.
