Favorite pop culture podcast!
I love this podcast! It’s very insightful and funny and I’ve gotten some recommendations for fantastic movies by listening to it. The day that the best films of the year drops is always a holiday in my books.
They instantly hooked me with their impeccable taste
TRUST ANY CRITIC WHO SAYS VELVET GOLDMINE IS THEIR FAVE FILM!! I actually found this podcast in searching for episodes that have covered that perfect film as I research for my book, on said film…. There is not a lot of content out there which is both not surprising and surprising. Ha! But alas, my search led me to their old episode on VG, which in turn has led me to their series as a whole and these ladies are wonderfully gifted pod hosts and pop culture enthusiasts… and it feels like I’m listening to the thoughts of my closest friends when I tune into an ep. 🖤
My go-to
I follow a lot of podcasts. Like embarrassingly a lot. I’m pretty good about keeping up with them, but sometimes I go weeks where I’m just not in the mood for politics or true crime or comedy or any if the myriad fictional series I follow.
This is never the case with Overinvested. When there’s a new episode, it’s the first thing I listen to, even if I’m in the middle of something else. It doesn’t matter if I’ve seen the movie (and I usually haven’t) there’s just something about listening to these two ladies conversing and debating. I know nothing about film, most of the technical aspects go right over my head, and I know about 1 in 10 names they mention…but it’s fun to listen to. It’s a good show. I’m not obsessed with pop culture, but I enjoy their obsession with it.
I’m glad this show exists, and I’m glad I found it! Thanks Morgan and Gavia!
