    Nigerian Muslims kidnapped 160 people, 70% of Americans diagnosed with cancer survive, Hoosier quarterback gives glory to God

    It’s Wednesday, January 21st, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I’m Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark and Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims kidnapped 160 people, many of whom are Christians Armed bandits raided three church services in Nigeria on Sunday. The suspected Fulani Muslim militants kidnapped over 160 people in Kaduna State. Morning Star News reports it could be the largest mass kidnapping of Christian farmers in the area. Rev. Joseph John Hayab is the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria for the country’s north. He told media outlets, “The terrorists invaded the churches while worship services were on. They held the worshippers hostage and marched them out into the bushes.” An eyewitness told TruthNigeria, “It was around 10 a.m. on Sunday. I was in our Evangelical Church Winning All church when we suddenly heard gunshots everywhere.  The gunmen were shouting that everyone should lie  down or be killed.” In addition, he said some of the assailants wore black robes with black head turbans, and others were outfitted with “shabby-looking Nigerian Army camouflage uniforms.” The man and his 10-year-old son escaped through a window while the Muslim assailants were forcing the congregation out. Sadly, local police are acting as if nothing happened.  Psalm 14:4 asks, “Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call on the LORD?” UK court: Men not allowed in female changing room A court in the United Kingdom ruled against a hospital’s transgender policy last week. The landmark ruling said that Darlington Memorial Hospital discriminated against eight female nurses. The nurses simply objected to a man, pretending to be a woman, from using their changing room.  The Christian Legal Centre supported the nurses in the case. Andrea Williams, Chief Executive of the Christian Legal Centre, commented, “The [National Health System] and the government should now give up their sabotage of clear judicial decisions and abide by the law which acknowledges that men are men and women are women.” Britain tracks new Christian songs Britain’s Official Charts Company is launching a new official singles chart for Christian music this month. AStepFWD, the organization behind the U.K. Christian Charts, has partnered with the Official Charts Company to introduce the Official Christian & Gospel Singles Chart. Christian Today reports the chart will “formally recognize the growing impact of faith-based music within the wider U.K. music landscape.” 100,000 Christians gather in France’s March for Life Around 10,000 people gathered in Paris on Sunday for France’s annual March for Life. AUDIO:  (Marchers chanting for life in French.) The event highlighted opposition to legislation that would legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide.  Listen to this testimony from a French marcher through a translator. POST-ABORTIVE WOMAN: “I had an abortion under circumstances where my fiancé forced me to do it so that we could get married, and it literally broke me. But God saved me. God healed me and helped me rebuild my life and turned the worst event of my life into a source of greater strength.” Marie-Lys Pellissier is the spokeswoman for the March for Life in France. The 24-year-old said, “Going out into the street seems essential to us. It is the only moment in the year when we can publicly express our opposition to abortion and euthanasia and propose concrete solutions. The rest of the time, the media never give us the floor.” Trump announces tariffs against goods from Denmark On Saturday, President Donald Trump announced tariffs on all goods from Denmark. President Trump said the tariff will be in force “until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland.” The 10% tariff will also apply to all goods from Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland. 70% of Americans diagnosed with cancer survive More Americans are surviving cancer, according to new findings from the American Cancer Society. The report found the five-year relative survival rate for all cancers combined reached 70% for people diagnosed during 2015-2021. That’s up from about 50% in the 1970s. The survival rates for people diagnosed with more fatal cancers is up significantly as well from the 1990s. Gallup poll: Americans trust nurses, not telemarketers Gallup released their latest Honesty and Ethics Survey of the professions that Americans trust the most.  U.S. adults have the most trust in nurses, military veterans, medical doctors, and pharmacists. They have the least trust in members of Congress and telemarketers.  Only 27% of Americans have high levels of trust in clergy, down from 64% in 2001. Hoosier quarterback gives glory to God And finally, the Indiana Hoosiers won their first college football national championship on Monday. ANNOUNCER: “He's gonna take off and run. Mendoza weaves his way first and diving toward the end zone. Touchdown!  A century of futility is forgotten. The Indiana Hoosiers are the kings of college football. The 2026 college football national champions: Coach Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers!” The Hoosiers beat the Miami Hurricanes 27 to 21 to cap off an undefeated season. The team’s historic victory represents a turnaround led by head coach Curt Cignetti over the past two years. For decades, the Hoosiers were known as the “losingest team” in college football. Members of the tight-knit team are now known for sharing their faith. Quarterback Fernando Mendoza is an outspoken Christian who also won the Heisman Trophy last year, college football’s top individual award.  Listen to his comments after the championship victory. MENDOZA: “This victory is so sweet for everybody, for the entire Hoosier nation, but also it's super sweet for myself. I was a two-star recruit coming out of high school. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Iran’s Islamic regime has killed 16,500 protestors, injured 330,000 Shockingly, the death toll in the Iranian protests has topped 16,500 people,  reports the Sunday Times.   Iran’s internet blackout has crossed its twelfth day.  One of our sources has reported at least 11 Christians were killed by Iranian authorities over the last few weeks. According to Iran International, smuggled out reports indicate that 330,000 Iranians have been injured.  One Tehran eye hospital, the Noor Clinic, documented around 7,000 eye injuries. This may be the highest death toll for a protest against government tyranny in modern history. By contrast, the Communist crackdown on Tiananmen Square protesters in Beijing, China in 1989 resulted in the deaths of up to 3,000 people.  Leftists storm Minneapolis church in anti-I.C.E. disruption Here in the United States, anti-ICE protesters disrupted a house of worship in Minneapolis on Sunday. Listen. AUDIO: “ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out. ICE out.” Cities Church is pastored by Jonathan Parnell, a contributor to the Desiring God ministry, and father of eight children. The church was targeted because one of the pastors was employed by the ICE organization. Author Christopher Yuan wrote on X, “Pastor Jonathan Parnell handled himself so well in the midst of protestors disrupting his worship service. Pray for Cities Church to shine the light of the Gospel in the Twin Cities. Pray for the children who were probably traumatized by all this. This is the church where my friend David Mathis also serves as pastor as well as serving as executive director for Desiring God.”   Thankfully, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested 10,000 illegals in Minneapolis, according to Secretary Kristi Noem. In addition, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi promised that “intimidation of Christians [is] being met with the full force of federal law.” Lesbian Renee Good’s relative: Wrath of God vs ungodliness Much of the national furor has surrounded the killing of Renee Good, who reportedly had an altercation with an ICE agent in the Minneapolis area. Good has been touted by the media as “a good Christian,” yet at the time of her death, she was in what Romans 1 calls an unnatural and wicked relationship with another woman.   Timmy Macklin, Renee Good’s former father-in-law, and the grandfather of her 6-year-old son, was interviewed on CNN, on her tragic death. While stating his love for his former daughter-in-law, he warned of the wrath of God against ungodliness in this interview.   Listen. MACKLIN: “I don't have any enemies. I love everybody, and that's what the Bible tells us. Love our neighbors as we love ourselves. But you know, I think there's some bad choices. The Word says, ‘For the wrath of God will come upon the children of disobedience.’ (Ephesians 5:6) “I don't blame ICE. I don't blame Rebecca. I don't blame Renee. If we're walking in the Spirit of God, I don't think she would have been there. That's the way I look at it. 73,000 illegals arrested by ICE The stats are in for ICE arrests and detentions. 27% of those arrested already had criminal convictions on record, and roughly 7% were felons. That’s about the same rates for the average American citizen. However, 100% of those arrested and detained, have allegedly violated the law by entering the country illegally. As of today, about 73,000 people are on ICE detention, up from 14,000 at the end of the Biden administration. That amounts to only half a percent of the number of illegal persons living in the country. The number of unauthorized migrants hit 14 million in 2023, up from 3.5 million in 2000. Also, for the record, 59% of illegal immigrant households receive welfare, as compared with 39% of native households. Romans 13 reminds us that the ruler is “God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.  “Therefore, you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this, you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Gold and silver hit new highs Gold scraped $4,700 an ounce and silver hit $95 an ounce in another hot market yesterday, reports InvestingNews.com.  That’s a 125% gain on gold and 332% gain on silver in two years. Central banks are favoring gold over U.S. Treasuries. Economists are pointing to escalating geopolitical risks and a weakening dollar as reasons that are driving the increases. About a third of new mine supply of gold is going to the central banks now. China, Brazil, Turkey and Poland are the largest purchasers in recent months.  Denmark upset that America wants Greenland As the World Economic Forum is meeting this week, Denmark is conspicuously absent at the table as the nation’s government protests the United States involvement, reports Forbes. President Donald Trump is still pushing for America’s annexation of Greenland.  Greenland’s high abortion rate Speaking of Greenland, it’s famous for its high abortion rate — the highest in the world. There are more abortions there than births every year.   Also, in terms of public acceptance and early endorsement of homosexuality, Iceland, Greenland, and Denmark are the most pro-homosexual countries in the world. 68-year-old lost New Zealand man found after 17 days And finally, authorities in New Zealand called off the search for a hiker in the hinterlands of the Southern Island. A police post has announced that Graham Garnett, age 68, was found alive in the Kahurangi National park by contractors working the area, 17 days after he went missing. Psalm 107:5-8 says, “They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; They found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city for a dwelling place. In yet another area, a young Christian female student fends off Muslim men relentlessly pressuring her into marriage, resulting in her forced conversion to Islam. These are real-life situations that countless Christians face daily across Southeast Asia as they live in Muslim-majority nations, reports International Christian Concern. Islam has a strong presence and history in Asia, with 1.3 billion Muslims across the region and 242 million followers in Southeast Asia alone.  More than 60% of the world’s Muslims live in Asia. US kills Al-Qaeda leader linked to deadly ISIS attack on US troops U.S. Central Command, known as CENTCOM, announced on Friday a deadly strike on a leader affiliated with Al-Qaeda in northeast Syria, reports The Epoch Times. The man had direct ties to an ISIS attack that killed two American service members and an interpreter on December 13, 2025, according to a Saturday CENTCOM post on X. CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said, “The death of a terrorist operative, linked to the deaths of three Americans, demonstrates our resolve in pursuing terrorists who attack our forces. There is no safe place for those who conduct, plot, or inspire attacks on American citizens and our warfighters. We will find you.” Argentinian President Javier Milei defends unborn babies The abortion wars in Argentina are ongoing, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Javier Milei, who was elected president of Argentina in December 2023, ran on a staunchly pro-life platform. During his campaign, he promised to repeal Argentina’s pro-abortion law, which passed narrowly in December 2020, and allows a mother to have her unborn baby killed up until 14 weeks of gestation. In a 2023 interview, Milei said, “It is true that women have the right to their own bodies. But the child in a woman’s body is not her body. … That makes abortion a murder, enabled and aggravated by a power imbalance against a child that has no way to defend itself. … Life is a continuum with two quantum leaps – birth and death. Any interruption in the interim is murder.” In Psalm 139:13, King David told God, “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb.” To his credit, Argentinian President Milei has halted the national distribution of abortion kill pills, canceling the planned distribution of over 100,000 doses. Abortion groups claim that these barriers likely account for the drop in the Argentinian abortion rate from 107,500 in 2023 to 79,186 in 2024. Senator to leftist obstetrician: “Can men get pregnant?” In a January 14th hearing on Abortion Kill Pill safety before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, Republican Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri could not get a straight answer from Dr. Nisha Verma, a board member of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, about basic biological reality. Listen. HAWLEY: “Dr. Verma, do you think that men can get pregnant?” VERMA: “I'm not really sure what the goal of the question is.” HAWLEY: “The goal is just to establish a biological reality. You just said a moment ago that ‘science and evidence should control, not politics.’ So, let's just test that proposition. Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I take care of people with many identities, but …” HAWLEY: “Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I take care of many women that can get pregnant. I do take care of people that don't identify as women that…” HAWLEY: “Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “Again, as I'm saying …” HAWLEY: “Let me just remind you what you testified to a moment ago. ‘Science and evidence should control, not politics.’ Can men get pregnant? You’re a doctor.” VERMA: “I totally agree that science and evidence should guide medicine.” HAWLEY: “Do science and evidence tell us that men can get pregnant? Biological men, can they get pregnant?” VERMA: “I also think yes/no questions like this are a political tool.” HAWLEY: “No, yes/no questions are about the truth, doctor. Let's not make a mockery of this proceeding. This is about science and evidence, and I'm asking you. “The United States Supreme Court just heard arguments yesterday at great length on this question. This is not a hypothetical question. This is not theoretical. It affects real people in their real lives. And you're here as an expert, called by the other side, as an expert. You're a doctor, and you follow the science and the evidence. So, I just want to know, based on the science, can men get pregnant? That's a ‘yes or no’ question. It really is, I think.” VERMA: “I think you're trying to reduce the complexity of a lot.” HAWLEY: “I'm not. It's not complex. I'm trying to get to an answer, and I'm trying to test, frankly, your veracity as a medical professional and as a scientist. Can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “I think you're also conflating male and female.” HAWLEY: “This is extraordinary. No, I'm not conflating male with female. They're two different things. There's biological men and there's biological women. And I want to know, can men get pregnant?” VERMA: “What you are talking about is biological.” HAWLEY: “I’m not going to answer my question.” VERMA: “biological males….” HAWLEY: “This isn't hard, doctor. Can men get pregnant? Yes or No?” Instead of answering Senator Hawley’s very simple question, Dr. Verma continued to play games and sidestep a direct answer. VERMA: “I would be more than happy to have a conversation with you that is not coming from a place of trying to be polarized and pushing…” HAWLEY: “I’m not trying to be polarizing. I'm trying to ask. I think it is extraordinary that we are here in a hearing about science and about women. And for the record, it's women who get pregnant, not men. “Science shows that this abortion drug causes adverse health events in 11% of cases. That's 22 times greater than the FDA label, another fact you haven't acknowledged, and yet you won't even acknowledge the basic reality that biological men don't get pregnant. “There's a difference between biological men and biological women. I don't know how we can take you seriously and your claims to be a person of science, if you won't level with us on this basic issue. I thought we were past all of this, frankly.” Christian publisher Robert Wolgemuth entered Heaven at 77 And finally, the widow of the recently deceased Christian author and publisher Robert Wolgemuth, remembered by ministry leaders as a “legend in Christian publishing,” has revealed additional details about his sudden death, reports the Christian Post. Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, the founder of Revive Our Hearts ministry, who married Wolgemuth in 2015, published a social media post last Thursday, providing additional details about her husband's final days before his death on January 10 at age 77.  She explained, “Early Christmas Eve morning, I took him to the ER, as he was in pain, struggling to breathe. He declined quickly and within a few days was totally unresponsive. On January 10, I returned to our home a widow.     Charges dropped against Red Rose pro-life rescuers, Trump threatens to invoke Insurrection Act amid unrest after second ICE-involved shooting, 387th anniversary of first U.S. state’s constitution

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Chinese Communists arrested house church leaders On January 6th, Chinese Communists detained leaders and members of the Early Rain Covenant Church amid the nation’s continued persecution of Christians, reports International Christian Concern. As of January 12, ChinaAid reported that six Christians from the church were either detained or placed under house arrest including Elder Li Yingqiang and his wife Zhang. They reportedly left a video message for their children in the event of their arrests. In it, they tell their children, “If one day you do not see mom and dad anymore, remember the hymn we sang together today.” The couple proceeds to sing “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people.” Produced by Maranatha Music, you might recognize Messianic Praise’s version of the song “As the Mountains.” MESSIANIC PRAISE: “As the mountains are around Jerusalem, the Lord is all around His people. As the mountains are around Jerusalem, the Lord is all around His people.” The Early Rain congregation has been the target of persecution at the hands of Chinese officials for many years due to its “unregistered” status. Trump threatens to invoke Insurrection Act amid unrest after second I.C.E.-involved shooting On Thursday, President Donald Trump threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to restore order amid ongoing riots against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in Minneapolis in the wake of a second I.C.E.-involved shooting Wednesday night, reports the Christian Post. In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote, "If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don't obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the Insurrection Act, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State." Trump's threat came the morning after an I.C.E. officer shot an illegal Venezuelan immigrant in the leg after he allegedly fled during a traffic stop and attempted to beat the officer with a shovel, according to the Department of Homeland Security. DHS claimed the officer was "fearing for his life and safety" when the suspect "violently assaulted" him. The suspect was reportedly in stable condition, and the I.C.E. agent remains hospitalized. The shooting came a week after an I.C.E. agent fatally shot Renee Good, video of whom shows her driving her vehicle into him after refusing to comply with officers. Ari Fleischer: Minnesota leftists want illegals to stay in America Appearing on Fox News Channel’s Special Report, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer offered his analysis. FLEISCHER: “The Insurrection Act is aimed at ‘civil disobedience.’ It goes on to armed conflict as well, but it includes civil disobedience. Not peaceful protest, but civil disobedience. “And when you have the Governor of Minnesota, [Tim Walz], use the words ‘atrocities,’ that ICE is committing ‘atrocities,’ Governor Walz's word, when he says it's federal ‘occupation’ of Minnesota, his word, ‘occupation,’ urging Minnesotans to take to the streets to ‘bank evidence for future prosecutions,’ Governor Walz's words, he is not seeking to calm things down. He is riling things up. And I think you have to ask what the root reason is why. “And it's because after the Biden years in which tens of millions of people came in illegally across the border with the willingness and the happiness of Democratic officials, now they want them to stay. They do not want people who came here illegally to have to leave in compliance with the law. They want them to get away with it. And that's what's driving their behavior.” If Supreme Court affirms two sexes, Trump will hold blue states accountable Riley Gaines, a podcaster and the former college swimming champion who objected to allowing biological men compete with women, asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt a question at the daily briefing. GAINES: “I was in Washington, DC earlier this week for the Supreme Court case. There were two arguments that were heard surrounding sex-based rights, and if it's constitutional for states to pass laws that ultimately protect those rights for women. “If the Supreme Court rules, as anticipated, in favor of maintaining these sex-based rights, is the [Trump] administration prepared to take action against the states? I believe at this point it's 23 states that don't have those protections for women.” LEAVITT: “Absolutely. The [Trump] administration already has done so. We've taken action in a number of fronts against these states who are failing to uphold the President's Executive Orders in this administration's policy of simply protecting women in women's sports and in women's private spaces. “We've gone to the mat with large universities in this country as well to try to fight for what's fair and what's just for women and girls across the country. Women's sports and private spaces should be protected. “There are two sexes. That is not something we should be afraid to say in this country. Men and women are different, but inherently equal. We hope and expect that the Supreme Court will rule in the right way on this matter.” Charges dropped against Red Rose pro-life rescuers After a successful pro-life rescue that temporarily closed a Pennsylvania abortion mill, involved arrests and initial jail time of several days, six Red Rose Rescue activists had all criminal charges against them dismissed on Monday at the Delaware County Courthouse, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The rescuers included Dr. Monica Miller, Eric Holmberg, Will Goodman, ChristyAnne Collins, Patty Woodworth, and Joan Andrews Bell. Regarding their successful July 31 rescue at the Delaware County Women’s Abortion Mill, Dr. Miller said, “We came out on top for sure.” At the time, the six Red Rose Rescuers were peacefully offering roses to mothers going into the chemical abortion facility along with resources for alternatives to abortion. They also provided information to abortion center staff regarding how they could depart the abortion industry and access support from former abortion staff members who had become pro-life. The rescuers were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and “defiant” trespass after they refused to leave the abortion mill at the request of police officers, to whom they explained “we cannot leave as long as the unborn are scheduled to be killed.” Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.” As a result of their pro-life rescue efforts, the abortion mill temporarily closed. Every woman walked out of there without the kill pills. Miller added, “That meant that at least the unborn children had a reprieve of their executions. And this gave women an opportunity to change their minds.” Early peanut exposure in babies tied to sharp drop in food allergies Historically, parents have been advised to avoid feeding peanuts to babies for the first few years of life, but emerging research has confirmed that introducing them sooner — as early as infancy — could help stave off food allergies, reports Fox News. A 2025 study, led by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, analyzed medical records from dozens of pediatric practices across the U.S., finding that early introduction of peanuts resulted in a 27% decrease in peanut allergy diagnoses among children and a 38% decrease in overall food allergies. 387th anniversary of first U.S. state’s constitution And finally, this past Tuesday, January 14th, was the 387th anniversary of the year Connecticut revealed the world's first written democratic constitution establishing a representative government. On January 14, 1639, the state adopted the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut. The report ranks the top 50 countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution. Once again, North Korea is ranked the worst country for persecution followed by Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, and Eritrea. The remaining top 10 countries are Syria, Nigeria, Pakistan, Libya, and Iran. One out of seven Christians are persecuted worldwide. Between October 2024 and September 2025, the report documented that 4,849 Christians were killed for their faith. Over 90% of the killings occurred in sub-Saharan Africa, especially Nigeria.  Hebrews 13:3 says, “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.” 2,000 Iranian protestors killed by Islamic regime Millions of Iranians have been protesting against the country’s Islamic regime since December 28. Activists report that 2,000 people have been killed as the regime has cracked down on protestors.  Listen to comments from U.S. President Donald Trump. TRUMP: “To all Iranian patriots, keep protesting, take over your institutions, if possible. … I’ve cancelled all meetings with the Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops. And all I say to them is ‘Help is on its way!’ You saw that I put tariffs on anybody doing business with Iran. Just went into effect today.” During this unrest, please pray for the underground church in Iran to remain strong and find opportunities to minister.  Pentagon moving carrier strike group toward Middle East amid Iran tension In a related story, the Pentagon is moving a carrier strike group from the South China Sea to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, which includes the Middle East, as tensions escalate between the Trump administration and Iran, reports NewsNation. Moving the carrier strike group — a naval formation centering around an aircraft carrier, with a variety of support from other vessels — is expected to take about a week. The significant transfer of American military hardware comes amid developments related to unrest in Iran and questions about whether the White House will offer support to opponents of Iran’s autocratic, Islamicregime. Franklin Graham calls America to prayer and repentance In the Untied States, Evangelist Franklin Graham called for a time of prayer and repentance across the nation. The call came as “the streets of America boil over with hate, anger, crime, drugs, and just sheer hopelessness.” Listen to comments from Graham. GRAHAM: “I encourage people to pray. And first of all, we need to repent as a nation. We need to repent of our sins and turn from those sins. And we need to repent of our own sins, not just the nation's sins, but our personal sins, and ask God to forgive us.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Trump withdraws from 66 int’l groups, conventions, and treaties The Trump administration announced last Wednesday that the U.S. is withdrawing from 66 international organizations, conventions, and treaties. One of those organizations is the United Nations Population Fund, known for its support of abortion.  Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, said, “From DEI mandates to ‘gender equity’ campaigns to climate orthodoxy, many international organizations now serve a globalist project. … These organizations actively seek to constrain American sovereignty.” State Department pauses immigrant visas from 75 countries Plus, the U.S. Department of State announced yesterday that it will pause immigrant visa processing from 75 countries.  Those nations include Somalia, Russia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Nigeria.  The State Department said migrants from these countries “take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.” U.S. overdose deaths fell New federal data shows U.S. overdose deaths fell last year. Overdose deaths involving opioids and now fentanyl have been on the rise since the 1990s. An estimated 73,000 people died from overdoses during the 12-month period ending in August 2025. That’s down 21% from the previous 12-month period.  Researchers suggest this drop is connected with recent regulation changes in China. These changes decreased the availability of chemicals used to make fentanyl.    4,000 U.S. Protestant churches closed in 2024 Lifeway Research reports more Protestant churches closed in the U.S. than opened. Four thousand churches were closed in America in 2024. Meanwhile, only 3,800 churches were started. That’s better than 2019 when there were only 3,000 openings and 4,500 closings. Openings have not outpaced closings since 2014 when there were 4,000 openings and 3,700 closings. Christian/Gospel music ranked among top 10 genres And finally, Luminate released its 2025 year-end music report. Christian and Gospel music ranked among the top 10 genres in the U.S. last year. Plus, Christian/Gospel was also one of the highest-growth genres in terms of on-demand audio streams.     Actor Timothy Busfield arrested on child s*x abuse charges, Texas banned tax-funded abortion travel, Trump threatens Nigeria with more military strikes

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Most dangerous countries for Christians: The 2026 Red List Global Christian Relief released its 2026 Red List of the world’s most dangerous countries to be a Christian.  The report verified nearly 2,000 Christians were killed between November 2023 and October 2025. The country with the most killings of Christians was Nigeria. The country with the most violence and intimidation against churches was Rwanda. China led with the most arrests and sentences of Christians. Mozambique saw the most displacement of believers. And Mexico had the most abductions of Christians.  Other dangerous countries for Christians included the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Russia, Ukraine, and Vietnam. Psalm 37:14-15 says, “The wicked have drawn the sword and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to slay those who are of upright conduct. Their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.” Trump threatens Nigeria with more military strikes Speaking of Nigeria, the country could see more military strikes from the United States if violence against Christians continues. On Christmas Day last month, the U.S. launched deadly strikes in Nigeria against militants linked with the Islamic State.   U.S. President Donald Trump told The New York Times last Thursday, “I'd love to make it a one-time strike. But if they continue to kill Christians it will be a many-time strike.” Listen to President Trump’s warning last November. TRUMP: “I'm hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our cherished Christians.” Texas banned tax-funded abortion travel Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton claimed victory last Friday in a case against San Antonio’s abortion travel fund. The city established its so-called “Reproductive Justice Fund” last year to support women traveling to other states to kill their unborn babies. However, Texas subsequently passed a law to ban such funding. Attorney General Paxton commented on the case. He said, “I will always do everything in my power to prevent radicals from manipulating the system to murder innocent babies. … San Antonio’s unlawful attempt to cover the travel and other expenses for out-of-state abortions has now officially been defeated.” Trump wants to ban institutional investors in single-family homes President Donald Trump is calling for Congress to ban large institutional investors from buying single-family homes. Such investors have acquired thousands of single-family homes since the 2008 financial crisis.  President Trump hopes his ban on institutional investors would make single-family homes more affordable. The median price for an existing home hit a record $435,300 last year. On Truth Social, he wrote, “People live in homes, not corporations.” More immigrants left America than entered in 2025 A report by the Brookings Institute estimates that more immigrants left the U.S. than entered it last year. The report suggests net migration fell by anywhere from 10,000 to 295,000 in 2025. It’s the first time in at least 50 years that net migration was negative for America. 2026 is also expected to see negative net migration. Actor Timothy Busfield arrested on child sex abuse charges NewsNation has confirmed that Emmy-winning actor Timothy Busfield has surrendered to law enforcement after an arrest warrant was issued last week amid allegations of sexual abuse involving minors in New Mexico. According to a criminal complaint, two young actors allege that Busfield, age 68, touched them inappropriately while on set filming the Fox series “The Cleaning Lady” from 2022 to 2024, where Busfield was an Executive Producer. The court documents detail a pattern of grooming, where Busfield would allegedly shower the children with gifts and praise, while also kissing and fondling the boys in a bedroom on set. They were 7 and 8 years old at the time. Record high of U.S. independents A new Gallup survey found a record-high 45 percent of U.S. adults identified as political independents last year. The last time that Americans were evenly split between Republicans, Independents, and Democrats was 2005. Since then, identification with Republicans and Democrats has dwindled to 27 percent each.  The rise of political independents comes as younger generations are less likely to identify with a party. However, slightly more Americans still lean Democrat than Republican.  Christian homeless shelter allowed to hire like-minded staff And finally, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled unanimously in favor of Union Gospel Mission last Tuesday. The Christian homeless shelter in Washington state serves anyone but only hires employees who agree with their religious beliefs. A state anti-discrimination law would have required the mission to hire people who did not align with their beliefs. So, the mission challenged the law with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom. Jeremiah Galus, Senior Counsel with the Christian legal group, said, “Yakima Union Gospel Mission exists to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through its homeless shelter, addiction-recovery programs, outreach efforts, meal services, and health clinics.     Venezuelan authorities release 800 pastors, 540 protestors killed by Iranian authorities, Bible sales up in United Kingdom

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Venezuelan authorities release 800 pastors and others from prison Over 800 pastors and other so-called political prisoners were released from Venezuelan jails over the weekend.  Psalm 68:1-3 declares, “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered. Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God. Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.” 3 pastors released from Nicaraguan prisons And, also, at least three pastors have been released from Nicaraguan prisons. That includes Pastor Rudy Palacios Vargas, the founder of La Roca de Nicaragua Church Association, his sister, two brothers-in-law, a member of the church worship team and a family friend. They were part of a block of 20 political prisoners released over the weekend, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. Noteworthy however was this: Another pastor, serving 23 years on false charges, was not among those released. Efrén Antonio Vílchez López was arrested when he condemned the government’s treatment of protesters in 2018. 540 protestors killed by Iranian authorities The body count is ratcheting up in the anti-government protests continuing across Iran. As of Monday, at least 540 people have died, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency.  The protests have hit 585 locations across the country in 186 cities located in 31 provinces. These casualties rival the Black Friday revolution of 1978 in Iran where at least 500 died in the turmoil. Iranian government blocks satellite signals into country Today marks the fourth day of government shutdown of the internet across Iran — including a military grade level block of Elon Musk’s Starlink system. The SpaceX organization has received authorization to double the number of Starlink satellites in orbit to 15,000. Already, Starlink commands 66% of active satellites orbiting Earth. Bible sales up in United Kingdom This in from the United Kingdom. Premier Christian News announced that Bible sales have doubled since 2019, with a 28% surge in just the last year.  Sam Richardson, CEO of the Christian publisher SPCK Group, explained that “[The Bible sales] are evidence of a significant cultural shift regarding matters of faith and religion in this country.” Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” Trump wants Greenland President Donald Trump is serious about including Greenland under American holdings. He announced that “We are going to do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not. I would like to make a deal.  … If we don’t do it the easy way, we’re going to do it the hard way." The Danish prime minister, Mette Frederickson, responded over the weekend. He said this would mean the collapse of NATO.  Trump vs. Fed Chair Jerome Powell The battle between the Trump administration and the Federal Reserve Board has heated up.   The Trump Justice Department has issued grand jury summons and threatened Chairman Jerome Powell with a criminal indictment relating to the scope of the Fed’s ongoing renovation project.   Mr. Powell published a video over the weekend on the matter: In his words, “This [legal proceeding] is about whether the Fed will be able to continue to set interest rates based on evidence and economic conditions—or whether instead monetary policy will be directed by political pressure or intimidation.” POWELL: “This new threat is not about my testimony last June or about the renovation of the Federal Reserve buildings. It is not about Congress's oversight role. The Fed through testimony and other public disclosures made every effort to keep Congress informed about the renovation project. Those are pretexts. The threat of criminal charges is a consequence of the Federal Reserve setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public.” Supreme Court examines transgender issue The U.S. Supreme Court is hearing arguments today on whether states should be able to ban men, pretending to be women, from participating in female sports. The Idaho and West Virginia laws under scrutiny are concerned with regulating public school sports — not private school sports. The transgender lobby wants to apply Title IX to the matter.  Almost double Gen Zers converted to Christ vs. Millennials And finally, some good news on the Gen Z generation from Pew Research,  but only moderately so.   Pew Research has some recent numbers, comparing Gen Z with the Millennial group 10 years ago. Three percent of Millennials converted to Christianity and 5% of Gen Z’ers say the same thing. Plus, 31% of Millennials raised in the Christian faith left the faith. And 26% of Gen Z’ers raised in the Christian faith have left the faith. In addition, 42% of Millennials remain Christian while 41% of Gen Z’ers remain Christians. All that to say -- the bloodletting in the generational faith retrograde continues, but there has been a slight correction for the youngest adult population.     Iran regime cuts internet access as protests claim 44 lives, Michael Reagan’s legacy, Charles Spurgeon’s conversion anniversary

(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Iran regime cuts nationwide internet access as protests claim 44 lives On January 8th, Iran was plunged into a nationwide internet blackout as anti-regime protests intensified, severely restricting communication across the country as demonstrations entered their second week and the death toll reached 44, reports Fox News. Before news of the latest killings came in, President Donald Trump, in an interview with Hugh Hewitt on Thursday, issued a warning to the Iranian regime. TRUMP: “I have let them know that if they start killing people -- which they tend to do during their riots, they have lots of riots -- if they do it, we're going to hit them very hard.” HEWITT: “Do you have a message for the people of Iran, President Trump?” TRUMP: “You should feel strongly about freedom. There's nothing like freedom. You're brave people. It's a shame what's happened to your country.” Ali Safavi, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said the blackout coincided with violent confrontations in several regions. The victims were killed by the Revolutionary Guard and other security forces using live ammunition. The protests were sparked in December by the collapse of Iran’s currency and soaring inflation, but they have since evolved into a broader movement demanding the overthrow of the Islamic Republic. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ in Iran who are suffering. VP Vance explains Trump’s Western Hemisphere foreign policy In a White House briefing, Vice President J.D. Vance explained the Trump administration’s foreign policy related to the Western Hemisphere. VANCE: “This is the president of peace. One of the ways that you establish peace in your own hemisphere is to make it clear that the United States is going to be respected, that the United States is willing to take power away from criminal cartel organizations and give it to legitimate governments. “That's how we see the future of the Western Hemisphere, and we think it's going to be much more peaceful than it was, certainly under [former President] Joe Biden.” Congressman: 78% of Somali Minnesotans on welfare after 10 years During a January 7th House Oversight Committee meeting, Republican Congressman Brandon Gill of Texas, age 31, asked Brendan Ballou, a former U.S. Special Counsel at the Department of Justice, a series of questions related to the abuse of taxpayer dollars by Somali-headed households in Minnesota. GILL: “Does large scale Somali immigration make Minnesota stronger or weaker?” BALLOU: “Certainly stronger.” GILL: “Do you know what percentage of Somali-headed households in Minnesota are on food stamps?” BALLOU: “No.” GILL: “54%.  Do you know what that number is for native Minnesota headed households?” BALLOU: “Well, to be clear, a majority of those …” GILL: “It’s 7%. It's 7%. There's a big difference between 54% and 7%, isn’t there?” BALLOU: “Excise me, sir, could I? Could I answer the question?” GILL: “Let me, let me move on. We've got a lot of questions here. What percentage of Somali-headed households in Minnesota are on Medicaid?” BALLOU: “I don't know.” GILL: “It's 73% Do you know what that number is for Minnesota native households?” BALLOU: “Again, you're using the phrase Minnesota native households, but the majority …" GILL: “The number is 18%. That's a quite an astounding difference. I think we would.” BALLOU: “Can I answer the question please?” GILL: “Let me ask you one more, and then we can go into that. What percentage of Somali-headed households are on welfare in general?” BALLOU: “I don't know." GILL: “81%. After 10 years of being in the United States, what percentage of Somali immigrant households continue to be on welfare?” BALLOU:  “I don't know.” GILL: “The number is 78%. So, even after 10 years, 78% of Somali immigrant households continue to be on welfare. Do you know what that number is for non-Somali immigrant headed households?” BALLOU: “The majority of Somali Minnesotans are as Minnesotan as any of us. They were born in the United States. It's only 8,000 of the 108,000.” GILL: “Nevertheless, the welfare usage is astoundingly different. Let me ask you again, does that make Minnesota stronger or weaker?” BALLOU: “Again, I’d like the opportunity to answer the question here. So again, the majority of Somali Minnesotans are born in the United States, as I understand.” GILL: “Okay. But what percentage of working-age Somalians, who have been in the US for 10 years or more, how many of them speak English very well?” BALLOU: “I don't know.” GILL: “About half. That seems pretty low, doesn't it?” BALLOU: “Again, I keep trying…” GILL: “Doesn't sound like something that makes our country stronger to me. And I think most Americans would agree with me on that.” Michael Reagan’s legacy Michael Reagan, the adopted son of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan and his first wife, actress Jane Wyman, died of cancer on January 4th at the age of 80, reported The Epoch Times. He hosted “The Michael Reagan Show,” a nationally syndicated talk radio program, for nearly 20 years, and was a contributor to the conservative Newsmax television network. In Reagan’s 1988 autobiography On the Outside Looking In and the 2004 follow-up Twice Adopted, he discussed his difficult childhood, including feelings of not belonging in his famous family, and his profound journey of faith and forgiveness. He penned Lessons My Father Taught Me in 2016, which explored the wisdom his father passed down. Christopher Ruddy, the Editor-in-Chief of NewsMax, wrote, “Mike asked his father about his plan to defeat the Soviet Union. Ronald Reagan replied, ‘It’s simple, Mike. They lose. We win.’ That was Reagan’s genius — clarity, moral confidence, and the determination to win. “Michael believed — like his father — that Americans are part of a living chain stretching back to the Sons of Liberty. Each generation inherits the responsibility to defend freedom, share our values, and serve as a beacon of hope to the world. The torch is passed, and it must never be dropped. Ronald Reagan’s greatest torchbearer was his eldest and adopted son.” Beyond physical freedom, Christ offers spiritual freedom from are sin which is the ultimate freedom. John 8:36 says, “If [Jesus], the Son, therefore, shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” Charles Spurgeon’s conversion anniversary And finally, last week, on January 6th, Christians celebrated the 176th anniversary of the Christian conversion of Charles Spurgeon in 1850 at the age of 15. On his way to a scheduled appointment, a snowstorm forced him to cut short his intended journey and to turn into a Primitive Methodist chapel on Artillery Street in Colchester, England, where he believed God opened his heart to the salvation message. The text that moved him was Isaiah 45:22. It says, "Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the Earth, for I am God, and there is none else.” In April 1854, after preaching three months on probation and just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 19 years old, was called to the pastorate of London's famed New Park Street Chapel. Charles Spurgeon became known as the "Prince of Preachers,” defended the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, and opposed the liberal theological heresies in the Church of his day. May the Lord raise up more Charles Spurgeons in our day.
