    #302 – Is P@rn Your Pain Killer?

What if pornography isn’t your biggest problem? What if it’s simply the painkiller you’ve been using to escape something much deeper? In Episode 302, I unpack why so many Christian men return to pornography—not simply because of lust, but because they’re trying to numb loneliness, rejection, anxiety, grief, stress, or other painful realities. We’ll discuss why recovery often hurts before it heals, why many men quit too soon, and how learning to face your pain with Christ is an essential part of lasting freedom and spiritual formation. This episode will challenge the way you think about recovery—and may help you finally understand what’s been driving your struggle/addiction all along. #301 – When Fear Hijacks Your Brain – Lessons from Elijah

In this episode, I take a look at the life of Elijah—one of the boldest prophets in Scripture—and what happened when fear suddenly hijacked his brain. One chapter he’s calling down fire from heaven. In the next, he’s running for his life, exhausted, afraid, and asking God to let him die. Using Elijah’s story, I talk about the spiritual journey from orientation to disorientation to reorientation. I also explore the powerful idea that “state drives story” and how the state of our nervous system can influence the stories we tell ourselves about our circumstances, health, relationships, and even God. As always, I share some of my own personal struggles and what I’m learning and doing to overcome them. I hope this episode provides you with some much-needed guidance and encouragement, no matter what stage of spiritual formation you find yourself navigating through. #300 – The Odyssey & Stop It

Episode 300 is here! First, I share my thoughts on The Odyssey movie, why I think every dad should take his son to see it, and what it teaches about manhood, courage, perseverance, temptation, and purpose. Then we dive into “The STOP IT List”—over 100 things Christian men need to stop doing if they want to grow in character, leadership, faith, and become a stronger, more attractive man. Some of it comes straight from Scripture. Some of it comes from hard-earned life lessons. Either way… this episode will challenge you, encourage you, and probably step on your toes a little. It’s time to STOP IT. Available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and more. – – – This week’s episode of The GRIZ Podcast is sponsored by J Harrell. #299 – Troubled in Spirit: Understanding John 13:21

Have you ever felt troubled in your spirit? In this episode, Jason shares a brief update from his recent trip to middle Georgia before diving into a powerful phrase from John 13 that has deeply encouraged him during a difficult season. On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus was “troubled in His spirit.” What does that mean? Why was He troubled? And what does it teach us about walking through betrayal, grief, emotional pain, and suffering? If you’ve ever wrestled with heartbreak, loss, rejection, or seasons when your soul simply feels heavy, this episode is a reminder that Jesus understands your pain—and that He walks with His people through every trial. Our present sufferings are not meaningless; they are preparing us for an eternal weight of glory. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why Jesus was “troubled in His spirit” What betrayal teaches us about love and suffering The biblical meaning of the fellowship of Christ’s sufferings How an eternal perspective gives us strength to persevere Why your pain is never wasted in the hands of God “The cross always comes before the crown.” – – – Sponsor an Episode of the GRIZ Podcast: For $75, you’ll receive: A 60–90 second shout-out on the show that reaches thousands of listeners Your name, business, or ministry listed in the episode show notes Promotion across our podcast platforms and social media We can also do a bundle package for multiple episodes. #297 – The Storm Reveals You

In this episode, Jason talks about the storms of life that shake us, humble us, expose us, and ultimately reveal whether our faith is genuine or just “professing and posing.” Through Scripture, personal stories, and hard-earned lessons, Jason challenges Christian men to stop being surprised by trials and recognize that storms are part of following Christ. This episode dives into: Why trials (storms) reveal the genuineness of faith How suffering sanctifies us Why comfort rarely produces spiritual growth The disciples panicking in the storm while Jesus slept Learning to trust God even when emotions spiral Fighting through seasons of fear, grief, pain, and discouragement Why prayer, Scripture, gratitude, and brotherhood are survival tools If you’re enduring a storm right now and wondering how much more you can take… this episode is for you. Storms don’t last. Genuine saving faith does. #296 – “I Deserve This” – Confronting The Sin of Entitlement

Many men ruin their lives because somewhere deep down they believe they deserve what God told them is off limits. That’s entitlement. And it’s one of the most dangerous sins many Christian men never properly identify. In this episode, we confront the entitlement mindset that often sits beneath lust, porn, adultery, compromise, self-indulgence, and other destructive behaviors. You’ll learn: What entitlement actually is Why it’s more dangerous than most men realize How it quietly leads men into compromise and destruction How this mindset showed up in the life of King David Practical ways to kill entitlement before it kills you   If you’ve ever justified sin with thoughts like… “I deserve this.” “It’s been a hard week.” “Just this once.” “No one will know.” …then this episode is for you.   https://thegrizpodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Entitlement-FinalCut.mp3   – – – This episode is sponsored by Dexter Gordy, a top-producing Realtor in Central Georgia selling everything from townhomes to forever homes. #295 – When Feel Good Faith Dies

What happens to your faith… when life stops feeling good? Let’s be honest… When things are going your way, when life feels good, when everything’s working out— it’s easy to trust God. But when life gets hard— when your world gets shaken— that’s the proving ground. This episode helps you understand the difference between “feel good faith” and real, unshakable faith— The kind of faith that doesn’t depend on circumstances… or feelings. The kind of faith that holds steady in pain, darkness, confusion, and adversity. We look at the life of Job—who lost everything and still said, “Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him.” And the life of Horatio Spafford—who, after unimaginable loss, wrote the great hymn, “It Is Well with My Soul.” Not when life made sense… Not when life felt good… But when everything was falling apart. Two men. Real suffering. Real faith. If you’re walking through a tough season… this will ground you, strengthen you, and motivate you to keep climbing.
