Great books podcast from a truly evil magazine

The Spectator is truly an evil magazine. As a nearly-official propaganda organ of the British Conserviative party, it is full of hatred, lies, and nearly-far-right opinions.

Curiously, it has a wonderful books and arts section, and I read the magazine as part of a magazine subscription service I use; well, I read the back of the magazine, the critical section.

The Spectator Books podcast is excellent, with very interesting guests, interviewed by the very knowledegable Sam Leith. I listen to episodes even if I don't know the authors, and they are always interesting.

It's an odd dichotomy, having a magazine that is such a political propaganda machine yet with an arts section that is really interesting and inclusive. I feel bad for Mr Leith that he is associated with this magazine, but he does a great job with the podcast.

Great interviewer, great interview. The book sounds intriguing. Thank you for this podcast. Especially loved the comment,
“May we all die as well.”
