I used to listen to this podcast nonstop because I absolutely loved the way that Deb talked—it felt like she was talking right to me! Her energy was so positive and strong, and it’s obvious she cares for her clients and what she does.
However I took all of this info as fact from someone experienced and reputable in the field of dietetics, only to find out that some of her advice can be fear based and pushing towards some disordered habits if taken too seriously. I am now in treatment for 0rtho rexia after becoming so fearful of everyday ingredients, and it led to some health problems from all of the foods I had restricted to try to maintain “purity”.
This isn’t to take away from some of the great things she talks about. A lot of her advice on mindset, physical activity, biology on macronutrients, etc is all spot on and perfect educational value. I just wish I knew about some of the fear and “danger” messaging present and how that would affect me before listening.
