#413 Francis Schaeffer Saw This Coming. Now We're Living It | Dr. Bruce Little

Decades ago, Christian philosopher and apologist Francis Schaeffer warned that evangelical Christianity was heading toward what he called “The Great Evangelical Disaster.” He believed that as Christians increasingly accommodated the spirit of the age, compromised biblical authority, and abandoned objective truth, the consequences would be devastating. Looking at the church today, was Schaeffer right? In this episode, Alisa sits down with Dr. Bruce Little, professor emeritus of philosophy and director of the Francis A. Schaeffer Collection at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, to explore Schaeffer’s life, legacy, and remarkably relevant warnings. They discuss how theological compromise takes root in churches, the influence of postmodernism and pragmatism, the dangers of adopting secular business and leadership models, and the growing tribalism within evangelical Christianity. They also examine current debates over biblical inerrancy and why seemingly small accommodations can have significant consequences for future generations. Are we witnessing the Great Evangelical Disaster Schaeffer warned about, or are we already living in its aftermath? And what can Christians learn from his unwavering commitment to truth? #412 Christian Women Get Real About Menopause, Faith, and Everything In Between

Hot flashes, brain fog, anxiety, mood swings, sleepless nights... menopause can turn your world upside down! But how do we navigate these very real physical and emotional challenges while remaining faithful to Christ? In part two of our series on menopause, I'm joined by some familiar voices from the world of Christian theology and apologetics who are getting personal about their own experiences with perimenopause and menopause. Rosaria Butterfield, Shanda Fulbright, Korey Cooper, Krista Bontrager, Monique Duson, Patti Height, Katy Faust, and Teasi Cannon share honest stories, practical advice, biblical wisdom, and even a few laughs about this often-overlooked season of life. We talk about everything from managing anxiety and intrusive thoughts to finding medical help, cultivating self-control, building supportive Christian friendships, and learning to trust God's Word when our emotions seem completely out of control. Whether you're in the thick of perimenopause, navigating postmenopause, or preparing for what's ahead, this conversation is filled with encouragement and hope. Our bodies may be changing, but God's faithfulness never does. And this season of life can be an opportunity not just to endure, but to grow in wisdom, holiness, and our love for Christ. #411 Christianity and Perimenopause: Staying Faithful When Your Hormones Crash Out | Hilary Morrison

What does it look like to remain faithful to Christ when your hormones feel like they’re crashing out? In this first episode of a two-part series on perimenopause and menopause, Alisa shares her own experience with hot flashes, sleep disruption, anxiety, and intense mental and emotional symptoms—and how learning to care for both her spiritual and physical health changed everything. She is joined by physician assistant Hillary Morrison, who has spent more than a decade working in functional and integrative medicine. Together, they discuss what actually happens to a woman’s hormones during perimenopause, common symptoms to watch for, why some women struggle more than others, and the connection between hormonal changes, sleep, mood, weight, and overall health. They also discuss hormone replacement therapy, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, testing options, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid and gut health, and how women can advocate for themselves when seeking medical care. Most importantly, Alisa and Hillary consider these questions through a Christian worldview. Hormonal changes may make obedience more difficult, but they do not define us or excuse sin. At the same time, caring for the physical body God has given us is not somehow less spiritual. Whether you are currently in perimenopause, preparing for it, or trying to better understand a woman you love, this conversation offers practical information, biblical encouragement, and hope for navigating this season faithfully. ----------------------------------------------------------------- This video is sponsored by: RANGE LEATHER American-Made Craftsmanship from Wyoming Go to www.rangeleather.com for more information Use my code: ALISA GOOD RANCHERS American Meat Delivered Go to https://go.goodranchers.com/alisa for more information. #410 Modern Apostles and Prophets? Examining the New Apostolic Reformation | Brandon Kimber

The New Apostolic Reformation has become increasingly influential in churches, worship music, conferences, and even politics—but what exactly is it, and how can Christians recognize its teachings? In this episode, I’m joined by filmmaker Brandon Kimber, director and editor of the American Gospel films, to discuss the newest installment, American Gospel: Spirit & Fire, an 18-episode documentary series examining the New Apostolic Reformation. We talk about the defining beliefs of the NAR, including modern-day apostles and prophets, claims of new revelation, the five-fold ministry, prosperity theology, and the movement’s understanding of spiritual authority. We also discuss why many leaders associated with these teachings reject the NAR label, and how Christians can evaluate the movement based on its actual theology and practices rather than labels alone. We also dig into one of the biggest questions listeners had after my previous episode: What exactly is a “NAR song”? Brandon explains how NAR theology can find its way into worship music through Bethel Music and other ministries, and we discuss how Christians and church leaders can think carefully and biblically about the songs they sing. Finally, we address the growing intersection between NAR leaders and conservative politics, the danger of compromising gospel clarity for political influence, and why faithfulness to the biblical gospel must remain central. If you’ve been wondering what the NAR is, how to identify it, or why Spirit & Fire was created, this conversation will help you understand the movement and the theological concerns surrounding it. #409 How to Share the Gospel with Muslims: Start Here! | Elle ISO

Have you ever wanted to share the gospel with a Muslim but felt intimidated because you don’t know enough about Islam? In this episode, I’m joined by Elle ISO, who regularly engages Muslims through street evangelism and apologetics. She shares practical ways Christians can begin meaningful conversations, ask good questions, explain who Jesus is, and respond when they don’t know the answer. We also discuss some of the key differences between Christianity and Islam, the Islamic dilemma, questions surrounding Muhammad, common objections Muslims raise against Christianity, and some of the biggest barriers Muslims face when considering the gospel. You don’t need a degree in Islamic theology to have a meaningful conversation with a Muslim. You need to know the gospel, be willing to ask questions, and be prepared to point people to Jesus. #408 Biblical or Cultish? Examining the "Anointed Man" Church Leadership Model

What does the Bible actually teach about church leadership—and what happens when a pastor is treated as “God’s anointed man” whose board exists to strengthen his hand rather than hold him accountable? In this episode, I respond to anepisode of the Resurge podcast hosted by pastors Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson, in which they lay out their vision for building a “wartime church.” I compare their model of leadership with the New Testament qualifications and responsibilities of elders and deacons, Jesus’ teaching on servant leadership, and the biblical warnings against domineering leadership. I also explains why I connected aspects of their leadership model with the New Apostolic Reformation and address criticism that I should have handled my concerns privately under Matthew 18. Rather than asking you take my word for it, I encourage Christians to listen to the full context, open their Bibles, and ask a crucial question: Is this how the New Testament describes leadership in Christ’s church? ----------------------------------------------------------------- This video is sponsored by: A'DEL NATURAL COSMETICS Elevate your skincare routine with A'del's toxin-free cosmetics.  Experience the difference in quality and purity.  Go to www.adelnaturalcosmetics.com for more information.  Use my code: ALISA  FOUNDATION WORLDVIEW Foundation Worldview creates curriculum series that will empower your child to think Biblically in a deceptive world.  Go to www.foundationworldview.com for more information. #407 When Progressive Logic Collapses: Reacting to Viral TikToks | Monique Duson & Phoenix Hayes

In this episode, I’m joined by Monique Duson and Phoenix Hayes to react to viral clips about abortion, progressive Christianity, gender ideology, and more. But the conversation takes an unexpected turn when we dive deep into spiritual warfare. How do Christians discern what is actually demonic? Are we supposed to rebuke demons, engage them, or simply ignore them? And what does it look like to take spiritual warfare seriously without seeing a demon behind every bush? We also talk about the deeper issue underneath so many of today’s cultural battles: What does it mean to be a human person created in the image of God? From abortion to transgender ideology, we explore what happens when our culture loses a coherent foundation for answering that question. This conversation went places none of us expected—and it gets practical, theological, and pretty hilarious along the way. #406 Responding to the Backlash: Grifting, Manipulation & Biblical Forgiveness

After my recent appearance on Alex Clark’s Culture Apothecary, the backlash came fast. Candace Owens featured clips from our conversation on her show, accusations of “Christian grifting” started flying, and a discussion about biblical forgiveness sparked a firestorm of its own. In this episode, I’m responding—not to every insult or comment, but to some of the bigger issues underneath the controversy. What does the Bible actually mean by forgiveness? Does forgiveness require repentance? What should Christians make of Jesus’ words, “Father, forgive them”? And how do we distinguish biblical forgiveness from simply releasing bitterness or resentment? I also take a closer look at what I call “confident mocking”—when ridicule, accusations about motives, and sheer certainty can masquerade as an argument. We’ll talk about conspiracy culture, intuition versus objective truth, the burden of proof, and why “asking questions” doesn’t automatically make a claim reasonable or true. Most importantly, how can Christians practice real discernment without becoming mockers ourselves? Finally, I respond to a couple of questions from recent episodes about deconstruction, including the relationship between faith in Christ and faith in Scripture—and why our ultimate foundation must be the person and authority of Jesus Christ. At the end of the day, this isn’t about winning an internet fight. It’s about truth, humility, discernment, and keeping the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of everything.
