Ew, the Arianna Rebolini interview on 05/19/2025: “When you have health insurance, they are failing you because they make it really difficult to get mental healthcare. So they - they, basically, kind of bully, uh, therapists - mental healthcare providers - uh, out of the system because they make their lives really difficult, they make it really difficult for providers to get, um, get claims approved. They keep them - they pay them very little, I mean, I could go for like hours, I mean, I barely understand how health insurance works…”
Last few words say it all. Who is “they”? What is this overweight woman going on about? She says our country is so unhealthy, yet she is one of the unhealthy. Yet it goes on (!):
Elise: “You make the case that sometimes wanting to die IS completely rational if you have been in this cycle of either poverty or, you know, um, getting denied the healthcare that you need or that your family members need.”
Arianna: “Yes, absolutely.”
Then guest then goes on to suggest meditation to help mental health, then immediately says she herself doesn’t like it and isn’t good at it. What, now? Why should any listener care about what this woman has to say?

Doree and Elise, I’ve been listening since 2018 and I love ya (and Kate) but what are we doing here? This anti-capitalist, eff-the-rich era is over. I bet Arianna is pro Luigi Mangioni, which is gross. Murder is wrong. You lefties should know this. It’s not 2020 anymore, and it’s time to grow up.

Wow, the episode from 10/23/2024 had FIFTEEN MINUTES worth of ads. And it was a Mini-Ep! 🙄 28 minutes of actual podcast content, but 43 minutes total with ads. 🤯 I do think Elise is a huge upgrade from Kate.

Pro-tip: You can tell how many minutes of each episode are ad content by looking at the run times both before and after you start playing an episode. For example, it will display “43 minutes” before hitting play, then jumps up to like 56 minutes after it starts playing. Please cut down on ad time by just doing a straight ad read, not adding conversational embellishment to every single ad. I get that they want to be engaging with the ads, it those who don’t want to listen aren’t going to listen to an ad just because it’s conversational. Their conversations are slow enough as it is. Please respect your listeners’ time. Also, I pay for other podcasts, but $10 a month is on the high end! 😬
