    Johnathan Buchanan - The Epitome of a Continuous Learner

My guest on this episode is Johnathan Buchanan. Johnathan is the director of instruction at Dallas CC where he has been for 14 years. He is a superstar coach that is  on the Golf Digest best in state list and is on the Golf Magazine best young teachers and on the top 100 watch list. I have followed Johnathans career and have always been impressed by how many top coaches that he has spent time with and taken lessons from Butch Harmon, Jimmy Ballard, Chuck Cook and Randy Smith who coached him when he was trying to play and now mentors him in his coaching and there are many more as the list is long which I hugely admire. Johnathan started his career working for the Legend and my great friend, Jim Mclean. Our conversation dives deep into what he learned from each of these coaches and how he has applied it to his coaching. I applaud his thirst for knowledge and his pursuit to be a continuous learner.     Derek Deminsky- Short Game with Golf Better Tucson

You can follow him on instagram @bettergolftucson where he has a massive following of more than 149 thousand. A little bit about Derek, he is the director of instruction at the Forty Niner Club in Tucson Arizona where he has been for the past 16 years. He teaches all parts of the game but has found his niche in the short game where he teaches a few tour players, such as Erik Van Rooyan, Michael Thorgbornsen and Matt Wallace and alot of really good college and amateurs as well. He is on the Ping advisory staff and did some really cool research on how the high launch, high spin shot is produced. When I saw that video a few years ago I was amazed at what Derek can do with a wedge which is what makes him so special as he is still a fine player himself. In this conversation we get into everything short game including his framework for assessing whether to use the ground or hit the ball first on your shots around the green to the different pieces that are necessary. We also discuss some of his work with a few of his players and some of the common mistakes that amateurs make around the greens. Finally we cover a few of his favorite drills and how to practice your short game and much more including some personal growth tips and how he stays sharp everyday. This is the first time that I have met Derek and I really enjoyed his caring personality and you can tell that he has intentional passion or golf and for people which is why he is one of the most sought after coaches in the game.     Dr. Raymond Prior - A Deep Dive Into Elite Performance - Golf Beneath The Surface

    I am so excited to have my next guest on the show as it is Performance Consultant, Dr. Raymond Prior. Raymond Prior, Ph.D. is one of the most sought-after names in performance psychology by the world’s best performers. His clients include Major Champions, World Champions, Olympic Gold Medalists, individual and team National Champions, National Coach of the Year Award winners, individual and team Conference Champions, and countless NCAA All-Americans. Dr. Prior also works with corporate executives and other non-sport performers including Grammy winners, Oscar winners, Tony winners, and Emmy winners performing on stage and screen.Dr. Prior is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant by the Association of Applied Sport Psychology.
