It’s me again. This time to call out how terrible Ashvin is at watching movies. In The Blob review he complains that the character interactions are “superficial” and misses the voice on the phone say the sheriff went to the diner, and then showing his badge on the body in the the Blob. “I didn’t realize it was the sheriff.”
And then he complains that the blob is affected by the cold but came from space but missed that 1) it was in a metal orb and 2) it was burning as it entered the atmosphere.
This dude might be the literal worst.
Update: I made the mistake of returning to this show for the Jaws episode. Ashvin says the opening is essentially boring by comparing himself to the guy that passes out on the beach. He’s the literal worst. Kudos to Brian for putting up with this guy for years. You’re getting the two stars. It’s me again and yep, I’m changing my review. Not because they rated the Thing a 3 and 3.5 but why. Cleary this very simple to follow movie went over their heads. And Brian literally says he needs a character to say “We don’t know what’s going on.” Wow. Yeah, I’m the guy that keeps tweaking his review. Thanks for the “shout out.” Like I said in my previous review, I think I figured out why I keep listening and it’s because Brian actually has some astute observations, even if I don’t always agree with his opinions, he at least “gets it.” Listening to Ashvin struggle over things like humor in Return of the Living Dead is like pushing a nail into my brain.
