#97: A Launch Debrief Is a Gift to Your Future Self

I ran two big sales last year. One of them I can tell you everything about, but the other one just takes up space in my head labeled, "that didn't go great," and I couldn't tell you any reason why! So today I'll share why that difference actually matters, and how I recommend that you should be debriefing your sales. As I planned this year’s birthday sale, I realised how much easier it is to make confident decisions when I’ve taken the time to properly debrief a launch. One sale left me with detailed notes, clear lessons, and real data to work from. The other left me with nothing but a vague feeling that it hadn’t gone well. That difference turned out to be far more important than I expected. In this episode, I’m sharing why debriefing is one of the most valuable gifts you can give your future self, how to separate facts from feelings when reviewing your results, and some simple ways to make the process easier so you can improve your launches without relying on guesswork.  🎧 Tune in to hear:   Why vague launch memories aren't enough  Facts first, feelings second  Common reasons we avoid debriefing  Using AI to support launch reviews  Creating a debrief system you'll actually use 💭 [00:40] "I tell everyone to debrief every sale, every launch that they run, every event that they run." 💭 [04:30] "It's not fully done until you debrief it. Because the debrief is really important for your future launches. The debrief may not matter to the launch that you have just completed, but it will really matter when you make decisions about launches going forward." 💭 [09:23] "The thing that you must not skip is actually saving this debrief somewhere proper." 🔗 Links Mentioned: Get on the birthday sale waitlistJoin the Soulful Sales Society (debrief template + AI bot)Wispr Flow (my affiliate link)Listen to the connectors episodeQUICK LINKS: 👋 Join the free Quietly Ambitious community on Skool - for heart-led business owners who want to sell without the hustle-bro energy, with soulful AI support. ✨ Start your free trial of The Soulful Sales Society - where heart-led offer creators build a sales ecosystem that keeps selling, even when they can't show up. #96: How AI Connectors Are Freeing Up Our Creativity (A Roundtable Discussion)

When it comes to automating my business, I've always been a little bit behind. Not by choice, just because my brain isn't quite wired that way. But AI has genuinely changed everything for me, and I'm so excited to share this conversation, where six of us talk about how we're using AI connectors to automate our businesses. One of the women on this call has cut her Zapier bill to almost zero. Another is drafting AI customer support replies before she's even read the tickets. We're all at different levels of tech, but we're all making it work for the real work we need to do in our businesses. With Destini Copp, Liz Stapleton, Monica Froese, Jodi Bourne, Steph Blake and Ruth Poundwhite. **Click here for a bundle of FREE AI goodies from the Weird Hermits mastermind members 🤖** 🎧 Tune in to hear: AI connectors and MCPs explainedReplacing manual workflows with automationSmarter email marketing insightsAI-powered customer support systemsFreeing up time for creativity and strategy💭 [00:24:44] "If you can dream it, you can build it now." 💭 [00:45:52] "I think it's important for everybody to think from this different mindset of "how can we simplify this? What can we automate?" We don't have to be working as hard as we're doing, especially not now." 💭 [00:46:33] "It's just so exciting. It's like it unlocks this new level of genius that you can tap into now that you don't have to worry about all this other stuff." 🔗 Links Mentioned: My AI Sales Pages Workshop (happening this month)Aligned AI LabFREE AI goodies from the Weird Hermits mastermind members 🤖Liz’s video: How To Back Up Thrivecart Learn CoursesSteph’s Blockbuilder tool (affiliate link)Monica: 7 Ways the Kit MCP Is Making My Email Marketing SmarterDestini: How I Built an Automated Monday Kit Growth Report (Kit MCP + Claude)How to Use the Kit MCP to Build an Email Analytics DashboardQUICK LINKS: 👋 Join the free Quietly Ambitious community on Skool - for heart-led business owners who want to sell without the hustle-bro energy, with soulful AI support. ✨ Start your free trial of The Soulful Sales Society - where heart-led offer creators build a sales ecosystem that keeps selling, even when they can't show up. #95: How to Make Your Freebies Actually Pay (& Why One Freebie Won't Cut It)

Most of us think of freebies as list-building tools. But the smartest thing I've done in my business is to start thinking of them as the first step in my sales process. Not in a gross, pushy way that stops them being helpful, but in a way that actually serves my right people AND my business, by designing them to naturally lead to sales of my offers. In this episode, I’m sharing why I’ve completely shifted the way I think about freebies, and how AI has made it easier than ever to experiment without adding more work to my plate. Rather than relying on one freebie to do everything, I’ve been creating more targeted freebies that connect naturally to the offers I want to sell and the results my audience wants most. I’ll walk you through how to create freebies that deliver a quick, meaningful win while also setting up a more intentional customer journey. Whether you’re starting with your very first freebie or looking to improve the results from the ones you already have, I hope this episode gives you permission to simplify, experiment, and create a freebie strategy that works for both you and your business. 🎧 Tune in to hear: Why one freebie isn't enoughFreebies as part of your sales processCreating micro wins that lead to offersUsing AI to speed up freebie creationSimple ways to test and refine your strategy💭 [6:49] ''I really want to encourage you to think about creating these kind of micro freebies in that way. So something that can give someone a really, really quick win, but that is also very tied to something that you want to sell in your business.'' 💭 [9:10]  "Giving people too much in a freebie is actually going to increase the chances that they do nothing with it." 💭 [11:14] "It can also be just a shift in the messaging of the landing page on the freebie to make it more tied to the reason they're opting in." 🔗 Links Mentioned: Strategic Freebies Get It Done Week (free trial offer ends Jun 8)Episode #85: One Signature Offer or Multiple Offers? #94: The Fears That Came Up Launching My Brand New Offer

Launching something new can bring up a LOT, even when you’re experienced, even when you know what you’re doing, and even when the launch is actually going well! In this behind-the-scenes episode, I’m sharing the real mindset wobbles, fears and overthinking that came up for me while launching my brand-new membership, the Aligned AI Lab. I talk about the fear of not being “expert enough,” the nervous-system stretch of launching something new, the decision to create a second membership, and the tiny details I found myself overthinking instead of focusing on what really mattered. 🎧 Tune in to hear: Why it's normal for new launches to bring up big feelingsHow I reframed not being an AI expert into a selling pointWhy tiny launch decisions can steal so much energyThe power of making decisions before fear kicks inWhy your job during a launch is to keep showing up and trust the plan💭 [05:08] "When there's a lot of new stuff all at one time, your nervous system is obviously gonna think, hang on a minute, danger, danger - this is not familiar, this is new territory! So fears will show up." 💭 [09:14] "Sometimes working through this mindset stuff can actually be marketing gold, which I hadn't expected." 💭 [22:48] "Is that worth your time and energy or would your time and energy be better spent elsewhere? And elsewhere can also include resting and clearing your mind from this launch if you need a bit of a break from it as well." #93: How Claude Ran My Last Sale

Last year, I ran a Black Friday sale of daily deals… and the workload was a lot. A few weeks ago, I ran another eight-day sale with new offers, new sales pages and lots of moving pieces - while deep in marathon prep and recovery - and this time, I genuinely had fun doing it. In this episode, I’m sharing what changed, including how I used Claude to turn a messy, overwhelming project into a step-by-step plan that actually felt doable. I’ll also share why the real magic isn’t just asking AI to write things for you, but training it properly, using it to reduce cognitive load, and letting it support the way your brain actually works. Plus, I’m introducing my new offer, the Aligned AI Lab, created to help you use AI in practical, values-led ways that support your capacity, sales and business. 🎧 Tune in to hear: How I ran an eight-day low-ticket sale with way less overwhelmHow Claude helped manage the project with a special documentWhy AI brand training makes such a big differenceThe one habit shift that has changed the way I work with AIWhy this has changed the way I’ll sell going forward💭 [09:42] - "I took all that stuff that would be messily arranged in my brain and I just let it go and gave it to Claude." 💭 [14:27] - "I am an online business expert who has been doing this for what, 18 years? And that is the way I want for you to apply AI - not as something to waste your time and get overwhelmed with, but to actually take over the stuff in your business and carry that cognitive load and the marketing load so that you have more time to go and sell more, reach more people, have more fun in your business and rest more." 💭 [16:14] - "I actually think there's so much better things we can be doing with AI than just focusing on content." #92: My Email List Shrank (Here's What I'm Doing About It)

In this episode I share something vulnerable: that my email list has not been growing. In fact, it has been shrinking. I'll walk you through exactly what has gone wrong and the strategy I'm using to turn it around. I’m sharing the real numbers and feelings behind noticing that my list had shrunk, why it actually made sense after running a summit, and why unsubscribes are not always a problem to fix.  But I’m also getting honest about where I hadn’t been paying enough attention, and the systems and strategies I’m putting in place now to grow my list in a way that leads to real sales, not just vanity metrics. 🎧 Tune in to hear: Why my email list shrank, and the unsubscribe reality I acceptWhy list growth can become a vanity metric if you’re not also looking at salesWhy I built an AI-powered dashboard to help me track list growth and unsubscribesWhat to do after spikes to make list growth actually sticks💭 [02:12] - "Whenever you do anything that brings in a nice chunk of people, you are always going to have a little bit of a increased exodus of some of those people afterwards. And it really is nothing to worry about." 💭 [07:09] -  "If I can't see it, I can't fix it. If I'm not seeing that things are shrinking, I can't do anything about it and be more intentional." 💭 [14:47] - "Don't spiral about people unsubscribing after an influx because it's normal, but build those systems systems in place. Put those welcome emails in place, put the right fit offers in place to help improve the chances of those people becoming clients over time." 🔗 Links Mentioned: Upcoming AI/Claude resources (including the Claude Brand Workshop)Free Claude workflow training (replay inside the Skool group, limited time) New AI Bot Shop (including the Welcome Sequence Builder) Quietly Ambitious Skool CommunityStart your own Skool community (affiliate link) The Extra 10K Experiment Soulful Sales Summit Soulful Sales Society (activate your free trial)QUICK LINKS: 👋 Join the free Quietly Ambitious community on Skool - for heart-led business owners who want to sell without the hustle-bro energy, with soulful AI support. ✨ Start your free trial of The Soulful Sales Society - where heart-led offer creators build a sales ecosystem that keeps selling, even when they can't show up. #91: Difficult Clients, Refunds, and the Dark Side of Entrepreneurship - A Conversation with My Mastermind

It is very easy to feel alone when something goes wrong in your business - a refund request that feels personal, a client who turns on you, a payment that fails and goes quiet, or something bigger that knocks the wind out of you. But these things happen to all of us, and talking honestly about them is one of the most helpful things we can do. This one is a Weird Hermits mastermind roundtable on the less glamorous side of running an online business. We get into the hardest client situations we have navigated, our different refund policies and the philosophies behind them, how we handle failed payments and payment plan ghosters, the contracts and terms that have saved us, and the mindset shifts that help us stay regulated when things go sideways. With Kate Kordsmeier, Destini Copp, Jordan Gill, Faith Mariah, Liz Stapleton and Ruth Poundwhite. 🎁 Click here for a free bundle of goodies from the Weird Hermits 🎁  🎧 Tune in to hear: The hardest client situations each of us has navigated (including one that shocked us all to hear)How each of us approaches refund policies, and why there is no one right answerPayment plans, failed payments, and the conversation most people avoidWhy contracts, terms, and clear checkout language matter more than you thinkMindset shifts for the moments that feel huge but look smaller in hindsight💭 [09:00] "Sometimes in the moment, these things are so huge and so difficult and we don't know how to deal with it, or how to take this what feels like an attack on us. And then it's no big deal when you look back. We can laugh about it. It's all part of the journey." - Ruth 💭 [41:06] "Sometimes giving refunds has been a way of closing things out that actually feels good. It doesn't always have to feel like your boundaries are being pushed over. It can feel like this is a relationship that needs to end." - Faith 💭 [43:23] "At a certain point, the energetic leak and how negative and scarce it made my mindset was just like - this is not worth it. That is the piece I think so many people miss." - Steph 💭 [47:11] - "I'm a capable human. There's a lot of stuff I could figure out myself. Am I overwhelmed a lot of the time? Yes. Do really small things sometimes seem absolutely huge to me? Yes, all the time.
