A stunning confession in church....a pastor admitting to his congregation that he had sinned, by committing adultery. What he didn't say was that his partner was a 16-year-old schoolgirl. That's when the victim, now a married woman, stepped on stage to share the years of shame and torment she'd endured. And the defense rested in the Johnny Depp defamation trial today, opening the door for the actor’s team to try to diminish some of the legal points scored by Amber Heard's lawyers. Plus, it's another brazen smash-and-grab caught on tape...but this time the employees at a jewelry store had had enough and fought back. And he may be out of prison, but he's still not out of legal hot water. Bill Cosby was back in court today...this time facing a civil trial from a woman who says she was just 16 years old when the now disgraced comic molested her, which he denies doing.

Johnny Depp defamation trial is in its final week…with Amber Heard's attorneys trying to cast doubt on some of the earlier testimony - specifically that the actor lost part of a finger when a vodka bottle was thrown at him. Here's the latest on the trial that continues to captivate the nation. And yesterday 35 tons of baby formula arrived in Indianapolis from Germany. The White House says the prescription formula, for babies intolerant of cow's milk, will be distributed where its most needed. However, that's small comfort for this dad who tells Ann Mercogliano he put more than 1,000 miles on his car looking for formula. Plus, a terrifying experience for a family whose house caught on fire. Firefighters got there…but a little boy was trapped inside. And what happened next was a miracle. And the bald eagle is no longer on the endangered species list, thanks to lots of conservation work. But while it's no longer endangered, this eagle is definitely emboldened.

A stunning allegation against the world's richest man. Published reports say SpaceX paid a woman $250,000 to settle claims that Elon Musk exposed himself and propositioned her during a flight in 2016. The woman, a corporate flight attendant, reportedly took the settlement in exchange for not filing a lawsuit. But as Jim Moret reports, Musk is saying the “wild allegations” never happened. And the former Marine who spent two years in a Russian prison is speaking out in his first TV interview. And what Trevor Reed has to say is harrowing. Plus, it was a moment that wowed the nation when a man with no flying experience landing a single engine plane after his pilot blacked out. Now we know who that pilot is and what caused his medical emergency. And my husband made me do it. That's the testimony of a woman who says she was forced to dismember a coworker after she says he was shot by her husband. As Les Trent reports prosecutors say at the heart of the case is jealousy.

A star witness today at the Johnny Depp defamation trial as jurors heard testimony from one of Depp's famous ex-girlfriends, Ellen Barkin. The actress claims Depp was extremely jealous and controlling and she also testified she saw him throw a wine bottle across a hotel room. And gun violence shows no sign of abating…more than 30 shots were just fired at a park south of San Francisco where dozens of children were on the playground. As Les Trent reports, they ran as fast as they could while screaming for their parents. Plus, President Biden says he has directed his administration to do quote "everything possible" to fix the ongoing baby formula crisis - and help can't come fast enough. Women with dwindling supplies of formula are getting more and more desperate and now comes this - a frustrated mom confronting another mom accusing her of leaving the shelf bare. And it's the new limited series starring Emmy Rossum about an 80's LA icon who was famous for, well, being famous. But who is the real Angelyne?
Inside Edition for Wednesday, May 18, 2022
Another day of dramatic testimony in the Johnny Depp defamation trial as the sister of Amber Heard was called to the stand. She testified that she was there from the beginning of the relationship and says she experienced first-hand how volatile things were. And could lives have been saved at the deadly shooting at the Buffalo supermarket? We are now hearing from a manager from the store who hid behind a counter and called 911. However, she says the operator didn't take her seriously and hung up on her. Les Trent has her story. Plus, it's the most natural thing to do at the beach is play in the sand. However, play the wrong way and it could end as it has for one family whose 18-year-old son was killed when a sand pit he was digging collapsed and buried him. And it's been ten years since Lauren Scruggs made headlines when the young model accidentally walked into a spinning plane propeller and was terribly injured. Now, a new chapter has begun for Scruggs…she's a mom!

The president and first lady were in Buffalo today, meeting with relatives of the victims of the grocery store massacre. They paid their respects at a memorial and spoke out on racial justice. Meantime, the family of the teen who's been arrested has a novel explanation for his action - they're blaming the isolation he experienced during Covid. Les Trent reports from Buffalo. And for 13 years…the family of 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel has wondered what happened after she disappeared during a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach. And now they know, her remains have just been discovered, and a 62-year-old man is charged with her murder. Plus, a lot of questions today about a school bus driver who dropped a little boy off after school. It wasn't his stop to which the driver reportedly said “just walk home.” Fortunately, when he knocked on a lady's door, she didn't hesitate to help. Jim Moret has details. And the designer of that Marilyn Monroe dress says it shouldn't have been worn by Kim Kardashian.
