    I'm scared to do what makes me happy (because they might hate me)

    A friend reached out asking for advice. I suggested she do what makes her happy. She replied, I don't think I've ever done that.  At first, I was shocked. Imagine that, I thought. How sad. Then, 9 seconds passed, and I realised I'm exactly the same. Worse actually. I've become a person who is scared and anxious to do what makes me happy. I need a million reassurances, soothing words, and pats on the back. Smiles all round. Only then will I commit. Maybe. Here's a conversation about that. We hope it helps if you find yourself in the same situation. This is a very honest conversation between a husband and wife, sharing who we are and how we do life. Sharing how our family healing journey, our extended sabbatical, our world-wandering, transformative search for "home".     We are back in Canada, in a province we've never been to...one that has to be seen to be believed.     A Year Spent Together: It's Not The Same Anymore

    A year ago, I was terrified of being alone. When we started this year-long nomadic healing journey, I was convinced that if I let my family out of my sight, something terrible would happen to them; that they'd all die, and I'd be left with no one. This was all part of grief. I know that now. But it affected not just me but also Brian and the kids. Now, fifteen months into our journey, we share what's changed. The fear has finally loosened its grip on my heart, and I can safely let people out of my sight without dreading them never returning. Today, we share how we felt leaving Greece a year ago and how we feel now. The physical and mental health challenges, financial pressures, uncertainty and some pretty big challenges. This is a very honest conversation between a husband and wife, about what this family healing journey has really done to us. And we are honoured to have you here to listen. Thank you. So very much.
