Celtics PRIDE: Tatum's Records, Nesmith's Jolt & All NBA Forwards

Celtics PRIDE: Tatum's Records, Nesmith's Jolt & All NBA Forwards

The Celtics Pride team reacts to Jayson Tatum’s record breaking streak. Should he be compared to Larry Bird? Aaron Nesmith has been a huge spark for this team showing tremendous confidence on both offense and defense. Josh compares Nesmith’s basketball IQ to Romeo Langford and explains why Nesmith is ahead of Romeo on the depth chart. The guys discuss the current rotations believing Brad has finally settled on roles for these players heading towards the playoffs. However, with Tatum and Brown colliding in the last game what is the health status of this team including Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart and Evan Fournier? Adam ruminates on the potential of this year’s squad on paper if they could all get healthy at the same time. They give up on trying to make sense of this weird Celtics team but give thoughts on how far the C’s might go in the playoffs.
“Josh, if you were to bet on your twin brother’s life, what would you say the Celtics’ postseason outcome will be?” - Mike Minkoff
Finally, Mike gets nerdy reviewing who he expects to receive All NBA honors at the end of the year. Is Jason Tatum on included? His next contract (starting next year) and the Celtics’ salary cap will be impacted by the outcome.

    CelticsPod: Reasons for optimism

    CelticsPod: Reasons for optimism

Adam and Greg get together to discuss Tatum dropping 60, and the improvements that have led him to this point, Tatum taking his next step towards superstardom, and the ridiculous upside of him and Brown playing together. They also get in to Aaron Nesmith's current breakout as an integral bench piece, what that could mean for Romeo Langford - and a potential bench unit that would give Boston multi-skilled players at all times. The guys finish up by discussing the Celtics defense, and it's weakness guarding middle, before discussing the finer things in life AKA Netflix and movies.

    CelticsPod: Things are heating up

    CelticsPod: Things are heating up

The Boston Celtics are currently tied with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference standings with two games against each other right around the corner. We discuss the importance of avoiding the play-in, and the additional practice time it would afford, before exploring the benefits of playing in the high-pressure games. We then move on to Jaylen Brown's display of leadership against Charlotte, before hitting on Nesmith, Pritchard and Waters - obviously we had to discuss NBA grooming tips too, just for fun

Celtics PRIDE: Is the remaining schedule easy enough? And is Brad Stevens a soft coach?

Celtics PRIDE: Is the remaining schedule easy enough? And is Brad Stevens a soft coach?

The Celtics Pride Team -- once again -- takes a look at and tries to make sense of the Celtics' recent poor and inconsistent play after frustrating losses to the Nets and Hornets.
Building from that, the crew examines Celtics upcoming schedule, as well as those for the Knicks and the Hawks, to figure out whether the Celtics can -- and should -- prioritize rest, repetitions, or seeding (and avoiding the play-in) over the remaining 11 games of the season. Will Kemba start playing both ends of the remaining 3 back-to-backs? Will Tatum, Brown, or Smart be able to sneak in any rest days? Will the Celtics fall to 7th or 8th in the Conference??
Finally, Adam, Josh, and Mike discuss whether the Celtics poor play is a function of Brad Stevens being too S-O-F-T as a coach, in reaction to the label being applied by Jalen Rose on the ESPN post-game. And... if Brad Stevens *is* too soft, what's the fix?

“Tatum obviously is exhaustion candidate number one. It looks like he needs three days off… and we’re obviously not gonna get that” - Josh Motenko

My Favorite Celtics Podcast By Far

I really enjoy this podcast. The host has a pleasant voice and is very knowledgeable, yet still comes across as a true Celtics fan. It’s refreshing to listen to a Celtics podcast where the host doesn’t pontificate like he’s a college professor and doesn’t repeat every sentence to stretch out the show’s length. Great job! Keep up the great work!
