Older episodes of this podcast were hugely helpful for me in early sobriety. The Holly Whitaker interview was life-changing and set me on my path. I feel like in the past year, this podcast has become more about anti-racism and wokeness than sobriety, so I've tuned out. I turn to other podcasts (by people of color) to hear conversations on those subjects. It's kind of a bummer that this great sobriety podcast has become more about social justice than sobriety because it used to hold a really unique place in the sobriety space. It feels like a loss. Maybe it's time to retire Sober Curious if it has succumbed to mission creep, or maybe Ruby should start a new podcast on social justice topics so that this one can go back to being about sobriety and recovery. She's a great interviewer, and I can tell she's trying to use her platform for good. I just feel like I've lost a source of reliable support in recovery as the conversations have become more and more about current affairs than alcohol. I wanted to share this feedback to explain why I'm unsubscribing. Thank you, Ruby, for helping me so much in early sobriety. You truly lifted me up when I needed it most.
