His sets glide between disco, house, boogie, jazz-leaning cuts and global rhythms - blending warm, feel-good shimmer with the occasional burst of high-energy, dancefloor-ready goodness. Proudly neurodivergent with a brain wired for deep dives and left turns, he brings a ‘Hyperfocus meets Heart’ approach to digging. The result is sets packed with surprises - forgotten disco gems, modern bangers and the odd curveball that somehow makes perfect sense in the moment. Joyful, a touch chaotic in the best way, and you never quite know what’s going to happen next. He’s played everywhere from Glastonbury to late-night basements and boutique festivals, bringing an open-minded, genre-fluid style that doesn’t take itself too seriously but always brings people together. Alongside DJing, he’s released edits and originals on a load of top labels and is the mind behind Funkier Sounds - a growing platform celebrating all things funky - from a mix series and newsletter to a forthcoming record label and events series - all built on community, creativity and good, funky vibes.

    The Late Shift @ 4Ks BBQ (Kitchen Disco) - 18th July 2026

    My friends Karim and Karen had a BBQ, and I DJed there alongside a few other excellent selectors. We were outside in the evening, but moved proceedings into their kitchen later on to keep the neighbours onside - because it was LOUD! I had the closing set - about 2am to about 4am... and about 15 mins in I remembered to hit record! Kept the energy high, and bounced through the genres like nobody's business. Chunky house beats, old school and ravey vibes, some loopy nonsense and of course a few forays into disco. Some of the mixing is probably not the best, I was a bit worse for wear by this hour, but people didn't seem to mind. It was lots of fun!     Funkier Sounds Episode 189 (Wobbly old tunes, mixed poorly)

    So I kept my hands firmly off the sync button this week, which is of course a healthy thing to do... but it does mean some of the blends are a touch rougher round the edges than usual… and, I’m not gonna lie - there’s a couple of full on trainwrecks in there. But the tunes more than make up for it - soulful and warm to start, then a proper roll through boogie, disco and deep funk, with Larry Graham reminding everyone how slap bass should be done. Some old favourites, a couple of curveballs, all goodness. Enjoy! I’m actually really pleased with this and had a load of fun making it. Headline is that it’s got a big wiggly 303 line, so its working title was of course Macar-acid. It’s also got new percussion to give it a bit of chug and swagger, new bass, a slightly dubby vibe in places and I’ve totally rebuilt the arrangement. It’s based on the remix that became (and still somehow is) popular in the UK, but I spliced in a bit of the original because I thought it sounded cool. This one’s a free download, enjoy… Ay!

    This episode finally saw me return to Twitch, after a couple of false starts due to tech issues that I’ve thankfully managed to resolve. I didn’t get many viewers though, so why not join me next time?     First show for a few weeks, and my intention was very much to go live on Twitch for this one. However some technical gremlins soon put a stop to that, so it ended up being another straight to Soundcloud jobby. Nice vibes though, mostly a bit moody, some tasty Afro vibes in there, some chunky, wonky funk, and I dropped Jamiroquai in the middle - purely because it’s June and it has the word June in the title.
