Wife of Crime

I have never been so entertained and so irritated by the same podcast. Jess could read a grocery list and I would listen for 3 hours. Russ, meanwhile, will interrupt a compelling story to explain that water is wet and somehow make me want to throw my phone across the room. He states the obvious, interrupts every 4.7 seconds, and contributes absolutely nothing I couldn’t have figured out myself. And yet… here I am. Every week. Listening religiously. I fear I am part of the problem. Love YALL

I work at Rothy’s and a customer walked into the store and said she was so excited because she had never been inside a Rothy’s store before… engaging in small talk, I asked her how she knew about us (the brand) and she said she heard about it on her “favorite podcast”. I asked her what the name of the pod was and she said “wife of crime” and admitted that I might not be into it cause there’s “a lot of banter”. Little did she know, I love banter and I love true crime. So I began listening and became instantly obsessed! Within 2 days of listening to this podcast, i subscribed to their Patreon and now I live in a delusion that Jess, Russ, and I are friends chit chatting while I listen 😂. Thanks for the constant entertainment and incredible story telling! I will forever be grateful to the stranger that put me onto you guys the day she walked into a shoe store (oddly enough though, I haven’t heard yall mention Rothy’s once since becoming a subscriber! But I’m glad that supposedly yall did at once point so I could learn about Wife of Crime)

I resisted listening to your podcast, mainly because of the language (Jess was such a potty mouth on that first episode). Eventually I gave in, and I am so glad I did. Russ didn’t grow on me like mold. Instead, I think of him as a contagious disease - one day I’m fine and the next I’m running into corns and herbs and ain’t nobody got time for that, so I bring the smoke (carefully, because I don’t want to wake up dead). I’ve listened to all the true crime pods, and I’m so happy I found these two! I love Jess’s storytelling, and Russ could be my husband’s brother from another mother. Y’all are hilariously entertaining, and I’m currently binging as I type. Enjoying every minute! 👊🏻👊🏻
